Just curious.

Since this was first posted, has anyone had melting issues yet?

Also, Darmeen, I have a posted question for you in the Holy Grail thread. And do you think this is a better (and safer?) mod than the coffee steel mesh approach? Went out and got the Mr. Coffee one yesterday.

Thanks,
Ken

Your not going to melt these plugs I use a bartleby PV and forgot to turn off the switch and completly melted the cart however I dug out the plug it it was still perfect... it withstands much higher temps then the cart I can tell you that..;)

Here is what I have found with pretty extensive testing of this mod on my standard 510.

1. Great taste and vapor
2. Does not leak when I pull the cart back off the atty slightly when not in use.
3. Does leak when I leave the cart pushed against the bridge of the atty for extended periods of time with the cart pointing down.
4. Uses all the liquid in the cart.
5. Does not leak quickly enough to flood during regular use (i.e. at pc, watching a movie, etc)

It is a fine mod, but I am sticking with PTB for out of home use.

Hey Ken, I answered that question for you on the other thread, but yes, I do think that this mod works better than what I was doing with the wire mesh...it is safer for my fingers as I am not poking myself with that wire screen anymore lol!

some people are finding great success with the wire mesh, and I definitely applaud them for that, but I found it became too much hassle to deal with.

I tried this mod with much success. Great idea. However, when I put it down, it leaks. I thought it did this method correctly, until I set it down. Did I do something wrong?

When laying my 510 down, I make sure that it is elevated on something, even slightly works. If it is even slightly elevated with the batt up (cart down), then it doesn't leak at all! If it sits for long periods, then I simply hold it up slightly when vaping the first 2 times (batt up \ cart down) to let the juice drop again.

Love this mod. The only downside is that I have to refill my wife's because she can't seem to do it without making a mess. That was the good thing about the poly and topping off with drops.
