Bench Test Results: Reliance RS50 - 70A 4950mAh 21700 pre-production samples

These tests below only note my personal opinion for the ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, EVE, Ampace, Reliance, Sinowatt, Lishen, BAK, or Sanyo can change at any time! This can be one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C to help lower the risks and extend cell life, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.

This is the best performing power cell (above about 15A) we can buy now, beating the EVE 50PL by a little all the way up to about 40A-50A. Above that the 50PL slowly starts becoming the better choice. It’s also a pretty good energy cell (under 10A-15A) too.

A few thoughts…
  • At up to about 10A only the EVE 58E, LG M58T, Samsung 58E, and the Vapcell F58/60/63’s ran for a bit longer.
  • Only the EVE 50PL beats this cell at high to extreme power levels, above about 50A.
  • At high current/power levels the Reliance RS40, due to its incredibly low internal resistance (DC IR), started at a slightly higher voltage/power level but the RS50 soon “catches up” and runs at a higher voltage and for longer.
  • The RS50’s DC IR was very low, 5.0-5.3mOhms for the four cells I tested. Only the RS40 was (a little) lower and the other top performers are in the 5.5-6.6mOhm range. Those values are all close though and only apply to the initial instantaneous voltage drop at the start of the discharge. Check the discharge graphs for how the cells you are interested in perform after that.
  • The datasheet only has a 70A temp-limited continuous current rating. Reliance says you can run it at up to 70A but you must never let it go over 80°C. This includes after a discharge stops! Like all cells, at very high current levels it can easily rise another 10°C or more after stopping.
  • At its 70A datasheet current rating the RS50 was able to deliver about 2.3Ah and it stayed above 3.2V before hitting its temp limit.
  • The Reliance web site has a “max pulse discharge current” rating of 250A for this cell but that will certainly speed up its aging no matter how short the pulse is. The datasheet does not have this rating and if you use this cell at above 70A you do so at your own risk!
  • I estimate its true continuous current rating to be about 40A as that would bring the cell up to about 80°C. It runs a few degrees hotter than the RS40 at high power levels but I don’t know if this has any effect on cycle life.
  • The datasheet charge ratings are confusing and I’m interpreting some terms: 2.5A standard, 8A rated, 15A max continuous. To help extend cell life I recommend staying near or below 2.5A.
  • In my opinion 8A will probably shorten cycle life some and 15A will definitely shorten life if done regularly. Occasional fast charging won’t impact the cell much.
  • If fast charging a lot then I recommend active cooling to keep the cell below 45°C.
  • Two of the four cells I tested delivered 5169mAh and 5173mAh, incredible consistency and well above the 4950mAh minimum capacity rating…which it should be. I like to see cells deliver at least 100mAh more than the rating so we can be sure that none of the others in the batch will be below the rating.
  • This extra capacity means nothing above a couple amps so do not get all caught up in comparing capacity ratings, they’re pretty useless.
  • Avoid welding within a central 6mm diameter circle (where the spiral is) on the bottom of the cell. You can weld to any part of the top central contact though.
  • Since there is no CCC*** logo I am assuming these are pre-production samples of unknown grade. I’ll test the full production cells when available.
  • 40A and 100A “shootouts” against the other top performers were done for my Patreon supporters and 40A cell-to-cell consistency testing for them is coming soon.
***China Compulsory Certification, additional testing now required for all cells made or sold in China after August 1, 2024. The logo and certain information must be put on all cells once they are certified.

New here

hi everyone, i'm new here in this kinda "old" forum. I'm vaping since 2014 and had already all styles of vape like oldschool mechs with rda's/rta's, then regulated boxes and of course pod systems. Now i'm going backto the roots and vape mainly mtl RTA's on some 14500 Mech Mods and trying hard to upgrade and expand my collection but it is very very difficult these days to find 1400 mods an atty with 16/17 mm.

if you have thoughts, advises or something you can contribute to this topi fell free to respond

SMOK X-PRIV SOLO VAPE KIT REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

Hello and welcome back for today's review of the X-Priv Solo Kit from Smok, this kit was provided to me from Sourcemore and is on sale for $35.19. The X-Priv Solo uses a single replaceable 18650 battery with a maximum power output of 80 watts, plus it uses a touch screen with haptic feedback. The tank for this kit is the TF-D subtank which has a 3.5ml capacity. The color display screen has 3 colorful themes to choose from that are activated by a responsive fire bar. This is a easy to operate as well as navigate device. The X-Priv Solo is a narrow device and it easily disappears in a closed fist, there's much to cover so let's get started.

Test Results
This is a great performing power cell, about equal to the EVE 40PL. In my opinion these are pre-production samples because they do not have the CCC*** logo. A few observations…
  • It can’t compete with cells like the RS50 and 50PL but if priced lower than those this is a good cell to consider (along with the 40PL and BAK45D) if the absolute top performance isn’t needed.
  • Its DC internal resistance (IR) was incredibly consistent between cells and the lowest I’ve ever seen in a small round cell (21700 and smaller), 4.7-4.8mOhms. The other top performers were in the 5.5-6.6mOhm range.
  • The effect of the RS40’s lower DC IR can be seen in my 40A and 100A “shootouts” between the top cells (Patreon only). The RS40 had the highest starting voltage of all the cells. Not by much, might not even noticeable, but that backs up the DC IR measurement and shows its “real world” effect.
  • The datasheet only has a 70A temp-limited max continuous current rating. Reliance says you can run it at up to 70A but you must never let it go over 80°C. This includes after a discharge stops! Like all cells, at very high current levels it can easily rise another 10°C or more after stopping.
  • I estimate its true continuous current rating to be about 40A as that would bring the cell up to almost 80°C at 2.5V.
  • The datasheet charge ratings are confusing and I’m interpreting some terms that seems to have been lost in translation: 2A standard, 8A rated, 14A max continuous. To help extend cell life I recommend staying near 2A.
  • In my opinion 8A will probably shorten cycle life some and 14A will definitely shorten life if done regularly. Occasional fast charging won’t impact the cell much.
  • If fast charging a lot then I recommend active cooling to keep the cell below 45°C.
  • Two of the four cells I tested delivered 4025mAh and 4035mAh, great consistency but only a bit above the 4000mAh rating. I like to see cells deliver at least 100mAh more than the rating so we can be sure that none of the others in the batch will be below the rating.

Hi battery specialists,

I have considered buying MC3000, hopefully to be able to diagnose battery capacity and capacity reduction.

Since I have no idea about all the technical specifications, I need some tips from you.
My experience is only using the Nitecore UMS series, but there is very limited info there, for someone who wants to know the battery condition.

What are the pros and cons of MC3000?

Hi.

Hi.
I'm new to the forum as a registered user. I've been here several times before, but without an account, just reading and searching for information.

What can I say about myself?
My name is Rafał, I'm 23 years old, from Poland.

I became interested in vaping early (I think early enough not to mention my age when it started). The first device I used was a Mild Master (I have no idea if it was available outside my country), and I knew right then that I liked it. I hadn't smoked cigarettes before, so I started out needlessly, but really, who starts because they need to? Then I took a break and came back with a Smok Alien with a TFV8 Baby Beast. I used up two coils from the kit and never bought a spare. I simply rebuilt it, and that's how it all started. I repeated this process a few more times, but then I wanted to try something better, so I blindly bought an RDA called the Wolfpaw from a friend (I still have it, even though I rarely use it). That's when I bought my first fused claptons, grabbed some Muji flakes I had left over from previous experiments with stock coils, and that's how my first build was born. It worked so well compared to the TFV8, and the cloud and flavor were incomparably better. Since then, I've used many different devices and atomizers, unfortunately selling a few, which I still regret.

Today, I make my own liquids and coils from scratch, and it's a pleasure. I have several boxes, two mech mods, and dozens of atomizers in my collection. My favorites are definitely the Kylin II, Flash e Vapor, Pharaoh RTA, Troll V2 RDA, Taifun GTIV, and Limitless RDTA. As for boxes, my favorites are the SX Mini SL Class, RX200, Triade 250c, and Lost Vape Grus.

I think that's all for now. If you have made it this far and wanted to read my attempt to prove myself in English, in which none other than Google Translate helped me, then thank you and have a nice day.

Cream Donut by Drifter Desserts - Review by Ben28

Cream Donut
WhatsApp Image 2025-08-21 at 17.32.17.jpeg
I've got another e-liquid to review today, and unfortunately, it's not good news. It's the Cream Donut from Drifter Desserts. If you've read my previous review of this line, you'll know where this is going, because it's practically the same experience. A big thank you to Vapeo24 for making this review possible.

According to the brand: The experience starts with a warm, enveloping pastry base that simulates the flavor of leavened dough with subtle notes of vanilla and butter. The true star of the show is at the heart of the flavor: a creamy custard filling that is sweet, silky, and so realistic in texture that it will feel like you're tasting an authentic custard-filled donut.

Remember that this e-liquid is sold as a concentrate in 16 and 24 mL sizes and must be filled with a base and nicotine to your liking.

Now for the smell test. You can clearly detect a rather fried donut dough, so to speak. I also perceive a very strong vanilla aroma, which I imagine comes from the cream filling. This vanilla has a very, very subtle alcoholic undertone, but it's clearly perceptible when you smell it. At first, the aroma is incredible; it smells really good and is very appealing to vape.

The vaping test is where things change, just like with the Lemon Tart. You can taste a very unpleasant chemical flavor in your mouth, which makes you want to take just three puffs and put the liquid away. I also notice a kind of cooling effect, which I don't understand—what's the point of putting a cooling effect in a donut flavor?

This entire line has definitely been disappointing for me, and while I didn't expect the best quality in the world due to its more affordable price, I also didn't expect something like this. In short, I would not recommend it at all.
