ICEWAVE X8500 Disposable Kit Review

ICEWAVE X8500 Disposable Kit Review

1690674504633.png

Ooh this one is pretty exciting and unique! Courtesy of ICEWAVE, today we will be looking at their X8500 Disposable Kit!

ICEWAVE are a new brand that’s hit the disposable vape scene, although they are under the ICCPP company which I believe also owns Voopoo and Zovoo. Per their website, www.icewave.com , it appears that the X8500 is their launch product, and it is a beauty!

Quick specs:

  • Dimensions at around 100 x 40 x 23 mm. It is quite tall but slim, so is still very ergonomic.
  • 600 mAh battery.
  • Having an upgraded mesh coil with a resistance of 1.0 ohm.
  • 18 mL of e-liquid capacity, for up to 8500 puffs.
  • Has a USB-C port at the bottom for charging.
  • And, what clearly sets itself apart from most disposable kits in the market, is that is has a big digital screen that displays battery life and remaining e-liquid capacity. How cool is that!
The plastic shell is transparent, with the inner unit covered in very colourful and lively print. It’s done in the way of “crystal”-shelled pod kits and disposables you may have already seen. Branding can be found pretty much on all sides, with the logo in front and flavour at the back. It is very pocketable and lightweight, considering the very generous 18 mL of e-liquid inside.

1690674516777.png

The comfortable mouthpiece is flat and tapers towards the top. The device gives off a nice, medium to loose MTL vape that is decently warm. There is no airflow control; air comes into the device through a small hole at the base, which is also where the USB-C port is located.

1690674527701.png

There are no buttons for operation for simplicity. Simply take a drag and vape, using the device’s quick-fire auto-draw feature. Now, the star of the show for me is the LED screen in front of the device, as this is the first time I’ve seen such a thing on disposable vape kits. The screen lights up to show information when vaping and also when charging. Battery life is displayed in percentage, and e-liquid level is shown within a drop-shaped section of the screen. Within this section, there are different colours as indicators that goes from green, to blue, to red (the latter being low on e-liquid).

1690674539305.png

I really love the way ICEWAVE have designed this feature and how vaping information is displayed. It’s simple, yet informative and intuitive to understand. Now I don’t have to guess when I need to recharge or when e-liquid will run out!

My only wish would be (and this is me being cheeky) is if the screen had a puff counter as well. Maybe it’s a bit of an overkill since the e-liquid level is already displayed, but I do wonder with high-puff devices as to how close actual use is versus manufacturer information.

The ICEWAVE X8500 comes in 16 flavours, with the following sent to me for this review: Strawberry Kiwi, Strawberry Banana, Fresh Mint, Vanilla Casta Tobacco, and Blackberry Ice.

Surprisingly, the fruit flavours didn’t really come with a lot of cooling, which is great for the kind of flavour I like in disposable vapes. The fruit notes come sweet and fresh to the tongue, and makes for a pleasant vape. The Vanilla Casta Tobacco is a sweet tobacco with cooling, which actually did remind me a little of the menthol cigarettes I used to smoke.

Recharging the device was very quick, and because of the digital display, I can more or less estimate when my device will finish charging. Saying that, the 600 mAh was more than enough to last me a day with my typical use.

Final Thoughts:

Without a doubt, the ICEWAVE X8500 is an excellent and progressive disposable kit. Flavours are strong and sweet from the mesh coil, and the device is very easy to use. I highly recommend this kit for vapers of disposable devices out there, especially with it having a large coloured screen.

My sincerest thanks again to ICEWAVE for allowing me to review these products!

DRAGBAR B6500 Disposable Kit Review

DRAGBAR B6500 Disposable Kit Review

1690671806785.png

With my sincerest thanks to Zovoo/Voopoo (thanks Hillary!), I am so pleased to share my feedback with you all about their newest product: the DRAGBAR B6500 Disposable Kit!

Zovoo have released a fair few DRAGBAR models by now, in varying form-factors, flavours, and capacities. Let us have a look then as to how the B6500 sets itself apart from all the DRAGBARs!

Quick specs:

  • Dimensions at around 83 x 44 x 20 mm.
  • 500 mAh battery.
  • Having an upgraded mesh coil version 2.0, with a resistance of 1.0 ohm.
  • 13 mL of e-liquid capacity, for up to 6500 puffs.
  • Has a USB-C port at the bottom for charging.
With the shell/body being made mostly with plastic material, the DRAGBAR 6500 has smooth surfaces all around and is very comfortable to hold. It has a pocketable form factor and is light to carry despite its high e-liquid capacity. Big and bold branding adorn the front panel of the device, as is expected of Dragbars, with the flavour clearly printed on the same panel.

1690671824489.png

One unique thing with the DRAGBAR B6500 is the flat mouthpiece that is made from TPU, making it soft and comfortable on the lips. The draw from the device is a medium MTL for me, and is OK for warmth although I prefer a slightly warmer vape. There is no airflow control but I didn’t really find myself looking for it, as draw tightness is just perfect. Air comes into the device through a tiny hole at the base, where an LED indicator is also located (lights up when charging and when device is in use).

1690671836751.png

The device operates via a very responsive auto-draw, making it super easy to use for vapers of all levels.

There are 20 flavours to choose from, of which I was sent to try: Peach Ice, Blue Razz Ice, Sakura Grape Ice, Strawberry Banana, and Strawberry Kiwi Ice. All flavours have an ample amount of cooling to balance the sweetness, for a refreshing vape. The fruit notes tasted candied to me, which makes for a nice vape - I like strong and punchy flavours! The vape quality also doesn’t feel dry or powdery after several puffs, and I suppose this is due to the upgraded mesh coil employed.

Recharging the device was fairly quick (I find mine charged after finishing a half hour meeting), and the 500 mAh battery was enough to last me a day.

1690671847249.png

As for puff life, since the vapour itself feels finely misted to my tongue, I would think this could actually get close to the manufacturer-claimed 6500 puffs.

Final Thoughts:

I couldn’t really fault the DRAGBAR B6500 Disposable Kit for anything, as far as disposable high-puff devices go. The flavours selections are right up my alley, and the device gives a very pleasurable MTL vaping experience. I recommend this device more for novice vapers for its simplicity of use, although it would still tick the boxes for experienced vapers looking for something simple to use.

My sincerest thanks again to Zovoo/Voopoo for allowing me to review these products!

VOOPOO DRAG H40 KIT REVIEWED BY BIGBOB2322

Hello once again and welcome back for another vape review on a new addition to the Drag family from Voopoo called as the title says Drag H40. The H40 uses a internal 1500mAh battery as it's power source and has a maximum power output of 40 watts and is in a tube style of devices. I will call it a AIO that uses a pod with a large 5ml capacity and uses the PNP coil lineup. There is a display screen with adjustment buttons and has adjustable airflow all in a nice compact size. After some information on the Drag H40 is shown so you can get to know it a little bit better I'll give you my findings on it after a 3 week evaluation, is it great, good or just average, Read on to find out.

SXK BB + SXK VapeSnail issue

Hey all! As you read in the title I've had a billet box for a couple years. Usually I vaped using an Exocet clone but recently I decided to buy a new atomizer i.e. an SXK VapeSnail.
I started playing around with builds and tried different. The most satisfying one was a Clapton Wire KA1 32ga + Ni80 26ga on 2.5mm ID.
I've used this build two/three times, but this week while I was working on it (I use a Coil Master to test) I noticed that by putting the atomizer in the box, a value of around 0.05 ohm is read instead of the 0.50/0.60 ohm that I expected (and I would like to point out that the correct value is read on the Coil Master) .
So I tried to check out what the problem could be, the only thing I noticed was a broken o-ring in the deck. But switching it with a new one didn't solve the problem.
Another thing I noticed is that by slightly unscrewing the screw that welds the atomizer to the box, the ohm value goes from like 0.05 to 0.15 (I don't know if this is an useful information), but trying to fire in that moment results in a "Temperature protected" error message.
Before doing something else (and risking to damage the atom) I would like to hear any suggestion, if you have.

Thank you for your attention, and obviously if you need more information just tell me! Thanks in advance :)

Closed/Sold Want to buy a decent boro mod.

Looking to buy a boro mod. I want one where you can see the tank, been thinking about an unmbrella mods passport, but am thinking 260 is to much for a plastic Chinese mod. Really love my stubby xray but the chip is terrible they sent me a replacement pcb it's still isn't fixed, so am returning it. I already invested quite a bit in boro tank and bridges drip tips and all that to turn back now. So if anyone has one to get rid of pm me with some pictures and such maybe we can make a deal

What happened to DIY EJUICE ABBOTSFORD?

The past year or 2 the nicotine mix tastes like complete garbage and makes me choke, get light headed and was super tired. I was horribly short of breath for months because of them. also canker sores in my mouth from it too, disgusting breath and nasty mouth mung after taste.
The flavors all suck now too. The flavors are bitter, some are unusable like cotton candy, bubble gum that I have here tastes like aftershave. Others have this same taste to them, all different flavors but with the same hint of disgusting thrills candy from the 80s. Its pollutes the flavors and I'm not sure why its in them. Not a good time
Authorities found this benzodiazepines in juice around Chilliwack, is that why?
Are these guys finding it hard to get supplies like nicotine?
Its been a horrible time with it, I went there 7 times in person to speak to the owner and he's never there, nobody there knows anything about what I'm talking about and just deny anything and he never returned communication with me about it.
I'm not the only one either.
So has anyone else noticed anything? I was buying PG nicotine but it turned into basically poison. People I made juice for called it death juice ffs.
The staff did exchange my nicotine 3 or 4 times and I finally went with VG vic because like I said, the PG was death.
thanks

Bench Test Results: Samsung 50E (with a “2” on the wrap) - 9.8A 4900mAh 21700

These tests below only note my personal opinion for the ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, or Sanyo can change at any time! This can be one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. Never use them outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.

Test Results
It’s been a year since I tested this cell so it’s time for a retest. It’s a good performer, doing slightly better at 5A than all 21700’s except the Samsung 50S. At 10A it equals the Molicel P42A and is beaten (by a bit) by the Samsung 50S, Molicel P45B, LG M50LT, LG H50, and BAK N21700CG-50.

The datasheet gives this cell a 9.8A continuous current rating and that seems reasonable. Samsung also gives it a 14.7A non-continuous rating but you must keep the cell temperature below 70°C.

The two cells I tested delivered 4979mAh and 5042mAh which isn’t very good consistency for Samsung cells but it exceeds their 4900mAh rating.

Vital Warning | WHO Is Coming for Your Vapes at COP10

Mix Matched Tank

Long story as to why (traveling) but found myself with part of two different tanks/setups: A Geek Vape Zeus tank (top, chamber/glass/ tank, coil), but with a BASE Horizon. They actually fit and yes it fires. No leaking (yet?).
Is that safe? Like, what's the science behind the metal/coil firing? Does it matter that the base horizon is not meant to be used with the Zeus tank?
