Today the next 21700 single battery mod, the Drag X Plus. Like the fact that there is plenty of 21700 battery mods being developed lately, enough choice.



Also a new type of coil has been designed, finally something else than PnP. In the kit you also get a new pod tank included adapter, kind of similar as in the Argus kit. Already received the same pod/coils on my review on the Drag 3, so to this review I will just be copy/pasting my thoughts on the tank.

Review:

It looks very much like the original Drag X, main difference is that the Plus is not a pod-mod but a 510-mod. The materials used feel proper and the leather finish gives it a nice warm grip. Leather flows into the metal frame nicely making it look properly finished. As we have winter now, the metal frame on this device is cold, can't remember a device this cold.





For me personally there is a bit too much branding going on with Drag X Plus on the leather, DRAG right above it on the frame, Voopoo and Gene chip on the side. Also, on top of the pod there is some more branding, 'DESIGNED BY VOOPOO, and 'ADAPT TPP COILS' It would have been sufficient for me to just have DRAG on the leather.



See below a size comparison with some of the 21700 mod’s I have reviewed lately, in the middle the Drag X plus, on the right the Augvape Foxy One and on the left the LostVape Grus. As you can clearly see, size-wise it is smaller than the Grus and similar to the Foxy One. The Drag X Plus however is by far the lightest of the three.



It has one of those slide-door systems which I am not a fan of. This one feels quite ok and when a battery is inserted it sits in place well. It is a matter of going careful when the door is open to not snap it off. Only battery marking is on the inside of the door (-), which for me is clear enough. Fact that it is taking a 21700 battery is just thumbs up. Included adapter allows also for 18650 batteries.



Buttons are the familiar Voopoo buttons as on previous devices such as the Drag S and Drag X. I like these buttons, they react well and click nicely, no rattling whatsoever. The circular shape makes it feel as is if the fire-button adjusts to the finger.



A large and colorful screen clearly shows all details. Gene is one of my favorite Chips if its about ease of use and firespeed. On this mod you can actually not do that much, its all about wattage, either in RBA (no limitation) or Smart mode (limited wattage dependent on the coil). Smart mode is very useful for the stock coils, they give this little extra protection not burning your coils by accident due to too high wattage.

It is easy to navigate through the device; below are the different things you can do with the buttons:

5x fire-button = turn on/off the device
3x fire-button while on = switch between RBA and SMART mode
Fire-button + up = lock/unlock the device
Fire-button + down = reset puff-counter
Hold up and down = switch between UI (Iron or Core)



Overall, not much for a 21700 mod, and I am not sure if a firmware update will allow for more functionality. Like all Gene chips locking the device also locks the fire-button, so its quite useless, same as turning off really. Ability to change between the horizontal and vertical lay-out is a nice addition. It would have been nice if it was also color-adjustable and brightness adjustable. The brightness is more than enough, but adjustability is always nice.

Already described this exact same tank and coils on my Drag 3 review, so below is a simple copy-paste.

As said, a new pod-type with new coils. I think Voopoo wanted to create a taller and larger capacity pod and therefor invented the TPP pod and coils. Pods are nice and transparent and hold proper amount of 5.5ML. Coils are larger than PnP and are not cross-compatible.





Bottom fill plug can be easily opened, and the fill port is OK in size for most bottle tips. I think they could have gone with top fill on this pod, but maybe esthetic wise it wasn't of their liking. Metallic parts on the pod match in color with the metallic parts of the mod.




Both pod and 510-pod adapter make a strong magnetic connection. Bottom airflow ring turns smoothly and provides lots of airflow. It does not have a stopper, but the ring sits tight enough for it to bot easily spin around. I would have preferred if the diameter of the entire pod with be the same, for me it looks a bit weird with its thinner bottom.

I was happy to see that this pod has a replaceable 810-drip tip but was a bit disappointed to see that it only counts for drip-tips with O-rings. Pretty much all my drip-tips are without O-rings as they are from tanks with O-rings built-in the top-connector. Voopoo should have done the same thing, an integrated O-ring inside the top of the tank.

Idea of these new TPP Coils is kind of like PnP, bottom plug coils that will be cross compatible. Both 0.15 and 0.2ohm have two large bone-shaped wicking ports, in total cotton coverage is larger than regular mesh coils. This can result in two possibilities; leaking issues or very saturated flavorful vape.



Cannot complain about the vape on these coils, for me these coils are better than the PnP coils. First, the flavor is better and second, the coils don’t get dirty so quickly, something I don’t like about the PnP coils (too little cotton). The large bone shaped wicking holes make sure that chain vaping is no problem at all, also did not experience any leaking issues with these coils.

Airflow of the TPP tank is a bit turbulent and when closing it off more than half it whistles quite a bit. Such a pity as the coils are good, the airflow is not in my opinion. Overall, I think it would have been nice if a proper mesh tank was included, and not this pod adapter thingy. Good news is that you don’t have to buy the whole kit.

Conclusion:

A small, light weight 21700 mod that will suffice if you are just into wattage vaping. Gene chip as always fires up like a beast. It feels like a solidly made mod with a nice large screen. You see and feel that Voopoo took special attention in making this device small, lightweight and portable.

The new TPP tank and coils are an upgrade to the PnP, providing better flavor and longer lasting coils.

We will naturally start with a new tank. First of all, there are two versions-UB POD storage tank / UB Pro POD vape tank, as you know, they use evaporators with different pipelines. Side refueling, capacity 5.5/5ml, removable drip type-suitable for 510/810.

Introduction

Rincoe introduced themselves in style about 3 years ago with one of the best dual 18650 mods of that year (not bad for a debut) and since have mainly released well received products with a couple of mediocre items thrown in but are now deservedly a vaping manufacturer mainstay!

They have released 2 versions of the JellyBox one a dual 21700 device and the one i have for this review the JellyBox Mini which is the single 21700 version, both are available as just mods or in kit form paired with, yes you've guessed it the "JellyTank"!

Aesthetics and Ergonomics

The JellyBox Mini came in quite simple cardboard packaging and on opening i immediately loved the look of this device. The JellyBox Mini is essentially a Poly Carbonate constructed device with metal sections at the base and top which sweeps down the face which is where more support is needed but this makes it a budget price and in my opinion this must be both the best looking and solid feeling plastic device i have used with only the Drone coming close!

The device is available in 3 transparent colours, i received the Amber Clear, the options are Amber Clear, Black Clear or Full Clear. The top three quarters of the face is Zinc Alloy and houses both the colour screen and above the rectangular fire button on that ergonomically friendly slant, below the screen within the Poly Carbonate main body we have side by side round protruding Zinc Alloy navigational buttons. The Zinc Alloy then covers the top of the device with an oval raised platform to the rear which houses the 510 plate with Gold plated, spring loaded 510.

The base is also Zinc alloy and we have a spring loaded latch door with chevron grooves and printed safety marks. The spine is nicely curved which along with the already mentioned slanted fire button makes this a very comfortable device to use. On one side we have the Rincoe logo badge which i personally like and on the other side low down and towards the front the Type C USB port.

Fitting The Battery

The JellyBox Mini can accommodate either a 21700, 20700 or 18650 with the included clear adaptor. The battery gets fitted via the bottom latched spring loaded door which without a battery installed is quite jangly and once opened is very loose giving it loads of play! The negative orientation is marked in Bright White on the underside of the door and with a battery fitted we now have no play whatsoever and no battery rattle.



because i don't do reviews for Rincoe i initially didn't think i would be reviewing any of the JellyBoxes so did watch Todds review so was expecting the battery door to have movement and not close tight. I can only guess Rincoe improved the door before retail release has all 4 of my retail versions (i also have the dual battery version) are all spot on, no issues!

The Display

The JellyBox Mini has a full colour display which can be customised to be one of 6 colours, it's both bright and sharp. Top left in a vertical position we have a battery status bar and top right the mode. Below in large font we have either the wattage or temperature depending which mode you are in and below in a s rectangular box vape duration. Next we have the resistance and then underneath the Voltage which will display watts instead when in temperature control. Finally at the bottom of the display we have a row of 6 different colour squares which is for choosing the colour of the display.

Operating The Device

The JellyBox Mini is the usual 5 clicks of the fire button to turn on and five clicks to turn off and once on up and down together locks those buttons but the device will still fire. We have more combination key press features but it's to do with the LED's and display colour customisation which i will cover in the next section.

To change modes is 3 quick presses of the fire button which now will cause the mode to blink and using the navigational buttons you can scroll through the options which are Variable Wattage, TC-Ni, TC-Ti and TC-SS, fire is select. If choosing a temperature control wire it will ask if its a new or old coil and lock in the resistance, also when on a temp control working screen pressing down and fire together allows you to set wattage for temp control from 10 to 80w.

In variable wattage mode you can alter wattage in 1w increments from 1w to 80w, it round robins. A very easy to use device but we don't have extra settings, curves or variable voltage modes.

The LED's and Customisation Of Display

The device has 6 LED's, 3 down the centre of the PCB and 3 opposite on the ouside of the inner section of the battery tube. With the device being transparent the LED's light up not just the device but also the PCB which i do like, for those who are not in the LED fan club, simple just turn them off.

Down and fire together from the Variable Wattage working screen switches the LED's on or off. We can also customise the colour of the display by pressing up and fire together which will make an outer box surround your current colour setting on the row of six colour squares at the bottom of the display. Now just use the navigational buttons to move the surround box between the colour squares and when it is surrounding the colour you want then fire is select. The colour options are White, Red, Cyan, Green, Yellow and Purple.



The LED's when on give a slow pulse effect when firing and will only be the colour you have chosen for the display as the colour of the LED's can not be chosen independently.

There are those that comment LED's waste battery life but do they really make any noticeable difference?

PSV Eindhoven got rid of their traditional corner floodlights to replace them with literally 100's of thousands of LED lighting which doesn't just light the pitch for the football but also allows for amazing light shows at the start and end of games yet the costly system to install was paid for in less than 3 seasons due to a 33% energy cost reduction so the moral is just 6 LED's don't even tickle a 21700 or 18650 battery, you are looking at a handful of puffs less with a full battery cycle.

The JellyBox Mini has Type C USB and a 2A charge rate so if you need to charge in the device both are big pros, while charging all that's displayed is a battery charging progress bar but it does support pass-through!

My Thoughts!

Single 21700 devices are my thing with the Odin Mini being my favourite device but before this arrived i wasn't too sure with it being mainly a plastic device but as i bought the other two colour options before even writing this review i think that tells you how much i like this device. Plastic devices can be made well and that's certainly the case here and the transparent look of the devices will appeal to many. being able to accommodate a 21700 will also appeal and if you need to charge in the device we have Type C and a 2A charge rate.

I did think i would have a major con as the specs on vendor sites and even Rincoe's site says maximum Voltage output 4.2V which basically gives the impression this doesn't have voltage boost so essentially will only give the wattage you set while the voltage on the battery allows before then being underpowered. I had a MTL RTA with a 1.49ohm coil which is due to be replaced so just cranked the wattage up to 80w which would be 10v and can confirm the maximum Voltage output is 8V so the 4.2v is an error and we do have voltage boost!

I really don't mind the LED's more so the effect of the PCB lighting up than the lights themselves but i found they looked best when set to White but prefer a more colourful display and the LED's will only light the colour you have the display so a con that they can't be set independently, in my view the LED's themselves can't be a con because down and fire equals LED's off, so a non issue!

I love the ergonomic feel of the device and it can fit up to 25mm atomizers which is fine for an 80w device, it fires fast enough and performed like a trooper. The buttons are very clicky especially the fire button which i like but am going to put as a subjective con because my wife who is a vaper actually mentions how loud the click is when i use it which in turn brought my attention to it and yes it does give a very loud click. I would prefer more features like Variable Voltage and Curves and when no battery is installed i wish the battery door was not so loose but for it's price point it's a cracking device!

Hi folks, I listed this item a while back but then decided to keep it. After some more time though, I still feel I am just more of a temperature control kind of guy.

There are a couple important updates to when I last listed this. For one, I ended up getting a 1 7/8" pipe stem, which really improved the vape for me. Nice and warm if I like. I am including both the 3" pipe stem and the 1 7/8" pipe stem in this listing.

The other thing is that I added a custom hammered copper accent to the top of the pipe, to give it a look of burning embers. This really improved the aesthetic for me. Gives it a classic look.

I've decided to include a YFTK KF Prime DLC styled RTA with this listing. It is used in excellent condition. As you can see in the photos, you can use the glass tank or the DLC styled extension. Please note, YFTK says it's DLC coating, but it is not. It is a standard black coating.

I swapped it out with genuine Kayfun Prime o-rings. I am also including 2 genuine Kayfun Prime spares kits.

The Kayfun is really the way to go with this mod for a great MTL vape. That's why I decided to pair the two together in this listing.

This is a mech mod type e-pipe, hand carved out of walnut and custom stained in sedona red with rusticated finish accents. Very old school. Like New condition. The gentleman who makes it, Pipesmith Pipes, no longer makes these e-pipes. So you can't find these anymore.

This mod runs on a single 18500 battery. I am including 2 Efest 18500 batteries with this e-pipe, plus a container of pipe butter to keep things nice and polished.

The Efest Purple 4340 IMR 18500 1000mAh 3.7V Unprotected High-Drain 15A Lithium Manganese (LiMn2O4) Flat Top batteries were purchased from Battery Junction on 1/25/19. They are authentic, and have the anti-counterfeit stickers on them.

The mod can run atomizers down to .5 ohm. Below that, you will trip a self-resetting fuse. Featuring a 22mm Shank, finished with a Stainless Steel Spring Loaded/ Self Adjusting 510 Connector to help draw residual heat away from the coil/ wick/ juice, and also provides extremely durable threading for your 510 connector.

Push-button firing on the face of the pipe - where your thumb rests naturally for comfortable firing of your pipe. No awkward hand position, no auto-firing, no magnets or loose pieces to get lost.

The pipe retail was $235, the batteries were $10, not to mention shipping. The RTA was $22. The spares were a couple a bucks a bag.

As I am fed up with spending money on pre-made sub-ohm coils, I decided to move to RTA and loved the review about the Druga RTA since the build is simple and easy, and Druga is known for its flavor.

I initially use LUXE 2 with their GT Coils (Mesh GT and CCell) coils and enjoying the flavor.

I used a pre-made AUG Vape coil reading at around 0.37 and LUXE 2 recommended 40w, (I tried different range up to from 25w up to 50w). I have another device SMOK RPM2 vaping the same juice to test and it is totally different in rpm2 (simply great) but with my build it is weak and not that good, it is like I am getting just 10-20% of the flavor (vapor production is great, but taste is bad).

I have tried different airflow levels & tried 3mm coils and 2.5mm coils.

My testing juices are (Loaded, Nasty Mango) as I love them and I know them very well.
So with the Nasty Mango, I get the menthol taste but like where is the Mango!!!

NOTE: I am using NRG-S Tank with GT Coils and the RPM 2 to compare (I know GT Coils are good in flavor)

Hi everyone.
I'm now starting to do my own DIY mixes. I'm using sub ohm prebuilt coils for my tank. The problem I seem to be having is that when I'm testing new mixes, and those mixes turn out to be bad, I end up wasting a coil in the process.
Is there a technique you use to save my coil usage, while still being able to test out new mixes? Knowing about the USPS mail ban coming soon, I want to use my coils sparingly.
