Voopoo V.Thru VS vmate Pod

I saw some people on youtube raving about the VooPoo vmate pod. Saying its the best pod they have every tried. Have any of you guys tried it yet?
The reviews got me interested and I started looking for it. I can only see it bundled with the drag x(or s) and not sold alone tho. As well I cant find any replacement pods for it.
I was just wondering if the VooPoo V.Thru pro was comparable to the vmate?
The V.Thru is sold by itself and pods are available for it.

To me the V.Thru Pro looks very similar, seems like the vmate is just a dumbed down version. So v.Thru should be better?

Druga RTA leaking

I bought two druga rtas to replace my wotofo serpent rta which never leaks. Both these druga rtas leak like crazy.
The flavor is very good and clouds great when it’s working. I pulse the coil and make sure everything is looking good. I’ve tried doing less cotton, more cotton. Cotton tight in the side holes. Cotton not in the side holes but above leaving the entire side holes open. I’ve re-wicked this thing maybe 10 times already. Sometimes everything will work great for one tank, go to refill, take a few hits then all the liquid runs out. I’ve made sure to close the air holes before I open the top cap to refill and only reopen them once the refill is done.

my first build I pushed the cotton really tight into the side juice holes and it worked great then all I was getting was dry hits. Now I’m putting cotton in the side juice holes pushing it down and I made sure it’s not too tight but there’s plenty of cotton in the sides. About to give up unless anyone can please help me figure this out ?

I’m using vapefly cotton. Maybe I should try a different brand ?

How much nicotine am I getting per vape hit?

Okay, so I Vape in very “precise” ways but I cannot figure out how to calculate (do the proper math) on how much I nicotine I am consuming. Can someone help? I have been vaping the exact same way daily for a long time, but still don’t know how much nicotine I get (just an estimate) per session because I suck at math...

Details:
1.) I vape 3mg (3mg of nicotine, per ml of juice) of nicotine using a “Smok Nfix” that holds a 3ml pod of nicotine juice. So that’s 9mg of nicotine, per pod.

2.) I set the wattage to exactly 22W on the vape, always, and it is a MTL pod device.

3.) I take EXACTLY 5 puffs over a period of 5-10 mins. Every puff is EXACTLY 5 seconds. Sometimes only 4 seconds, but just say 5 to make it easier. I use my watch or phone’s timer to make certain the timing is exact. I inhale the same way every time. So 5 puffs X 5 seconds, per puff, equals 25 seconds total for each vape session. After those 5 puffs, I don’t vape again (at all) for 1-3 hours, just depending.

....But how do I figure out how much nicotine I am getting in those 5 puffs? I know that in my Nfix pod there is 9mg of nicotine, in each pod.

I also believe 1 full pod (3ML) gives approximately 325 seconds worth of puffs, with each puff being only 1 SECOND. I only tested this one time so I am not certain, but it’s an estimate.

Can anyone help me do the right math here?
I also still smoke ultra light Marlboro cigarettes (from what I read on multiple sources you only absorb about 0.5mg to 0.7mg of nicotine per cig on the ultra lights) but only 1-3 cigarettes per day.
But I am wondering if my 5 puffs on the vape (5 puffs @ 5 second each) is even remotely close to being equal to an ultra light cigarette that has about 0.5mg nicotine per cig?
Thanks, I suck at math so if anyone can help lol

An MTL Vaping Quest

I am trying to get the best flavor with the best single coil build.

Objectives:
  • Flavor
  • Smooth Vapor

Materials:
  • Kanthal Wire
  • 35mg Nic Salts

I have noticed that either depending on the diameter of the coil or the spacing of the coil wraps You get a different kind of vape hit. It seems like higher gauge wire produces a smoother hit. And then couple that with a small diameter coil build, plus squishing the coil together to remove all coil spacing results in the smoothest possible vapor.

Can anyone confirm my findings? Or does anyone have any tips because I have still to replicate the smooth hit from clearomizer sub tank cartridge's that are non mesh. I am starting to think this is because the cotton is wrapped around the outside of the coil instead of being shoelace through the middle of the coil.

Lost Vape Thelema Pod Mod

I’ve been given this Lost Vape Thelema Pod Mod Kit for the purpose of this review.

boxed 25.jpg

This pod comes in gunmetal, stainless steel and black, and carbon fiber, Navy Seals, and calf leather for nine different style combinations. I received the gunmetal/Ukiran leather model, and it’s stunning.

Inside the box, you’ll find

  • 1x Thelema

  • 1x Type C USB Cable

  • !x 510 MTL drip tip (that’s what the box says, but there is also a 510 DL tip included)

  • 1x Warranty card

  • 1x 4ml pod (pre-installed)

  • 1x UB V2 0.2 ohm coil (pre-installed)

  • 1x UB V2 0.3 ohm coil

  • 1x User manual

Let me start by saying, this is not a teeny tiny little pod, and that may be a turn-off for some, but in the pod category we will always have to compromise between size/weight and battery/liquid capacity.

Thelema is approximately 5 5/8” tall by 1 ¼” front to back, and weighs 152 grams. It’s not ginormous, but it is substantial.

The pod holds 4 mls of liquid, and the battery is a healthy 3,000 mAh. Power range is 5-80 watts which adjusts quickly in .5 watt increments.

What I love about the Thelema:

It’s got that classic Lost Vape vibe. Very upscale, sleek face, clean screen, beautifully done tooling and coloring on the leather, options to suit a wide range of aesthetic tastes. The buttons are great, nice and clicky and responsive. I hate mushy buttons.

The drip tip is not proprietary – what! - and how often can you say that about a pod? Go ahead and pop on whatever tip makes your matchy-matchy little heart sing.

4! ml! Pod!!! I carry a pod frequently and my biggest beef is constantly checking to see if it’s getting low. And the bung is large and sturdy, and attached, so I don’t need to use a magnifying glass to fill it, or sweep the floor looking for a minuscule bit of silicone when it inevitably escapes my grasp. Top fill, which we love, right? There is supposed to be a viewing window to see the juice level, but I can’t see through it. Replacement pods are available for a few bucks.pod.jpg

lu105567v9x4q_tmp_b7ee148075ea655b.jpg

Coil options. .15, .20, .30, .60, and 1.0 are available for this pod, plus there’s an RBA deck.

coils.jpg

I’ve been test driving the .2 and .3, as well as the RBA (couple more things to talk about and then a few words about that). Very good flavor and vapor production as you’d expect for the resistance. The coils just slide into the pod.

One thing to note, is that there is an air flow adjuster ring on the bottom of the installed coil which screws off.

Do not throw that away!

Little parts are the devil. I wish the AF was a part of the coil itself.

lu105567v9x4q_tmp_8cdf49cd9a575038.jpg
Other features include 6 color themes and a puff counter on the screen, and super fast type-C charging – 60 minutes to a full charge. The fast charge is great, but I find it a tad inconvenient not being able to use the more common micro USB.

So to sum up, I love the look of it, nice in hand, nice responsive buttons, easy to fill, great battery life and fast charging. Love love love that there’s a compatible RBA (patience, I’m getting to that in a sec).

Needs a better viewing window for the juice, would be nice if the coils had attached air flow adjusters,

From left to right, the gunmetal/Ukiran leather, the gunmetal/Glossy leather, and the SS/Ukiran leather.

trio.jpg

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed this review! If you’d like to give the Thelema a try, save a few bucks and use code ELEMA at Sourcemore.com and get your kit for $24.69.

I purchased the RBA separately, so this is kind of a bonus review.

Rba.jpg

It comes with a tiny Allen wrench, extra O rings, screws, two coils, some cotton and a 510 adapter – that’s a really nice touch.

rba closeup.jpg

If you’ve used RBAs for AIOs or for tanks that offer compatible rebuildables, this won’t be a challenge at all. Tiny? Absolutely puny. But super easy. Loosen the microscopic screws, the coil legs will be facing the same way, and it’s no problem to hold the wee little coil right over the smiley air hole. Trim the tails and tuck them into the side cutouts, leave a bit of a bunny tail sticking out when the cap goes on. I’d guess the coils included are kanthal, and they read about .5.

Coils that small are fairly fiddly to wrap, imho, but they can be purchased already made. It’s not everyone’s idea of fun, but I prefer the build-my-own option over the prospect of letting a device sit idle for lack of drop-ins.

Thanks, Lilia and Sourcemore for this opportunity to test drive and review the Thelema! And thanks, friends and neighbors, for reading – oh, and don’t forget your code ELEMA!

First Impressions:

The Jellybox Mini came in pretty standard packaging. Nothing really that stood out. Just an outer sleeve that slides off to expose the mod, tank with .3 ohm coil installed, user manual, instruction sheet for the tank, USB-C charging cable, and spare .15 coil.

I was kind of hoping for the black clear kit but received the full clear kit. The mod is made of polycarbonate and zinc alloy. The kit is also available in a third color which is amber. I personally don’t care much for the amber tinted model.

The mod can use 18650, 20700, or 21700 batteries and has an 18650 battery adapter included that matches the color of the mod. On the front of the mod is what I would call a trigger style fire button that follows the contour of the mod. Below that is the screen which shows battery level, mode of operation, length of current puff, coil resistance, and voltage. Also on the bottom of the display it shows the six display colors which are white, red, blue, green, yellow, and purple. The display color is also matched by lights inside the body of the mod which can be turned on and off. Below the screen is the + and – buttons. The rest of the body is see through. On the right side is a USB-C charge port and on the right side is a badge with a symbol on it that I’m not sure of exactly what’s it’s supposed to be. The 510 connector on top is raised a little due to the shape of the frame. On the bottom is the sliding cover for the battery opening. Since mine is clear, it would be fun to get a custom battery wrap that would show through the case.

The operation of the mod menu system is as follows:

- Press the fire button five times to turn it on and off

- Press the fire button three times to change the modes which are VW, NI, TI, SS,

- Press the fire button and + button to change the display and internal light color

- Press the fire and – button to turn the lights in the body on and off

- Press the + and – buttons to lock the wattage control but the mod still fires

The Jelly tank is a good match for the mod both in appearance and mostly in function. The Jelly tank is actually two pieces. The PC portion of the tank has a molded tip that cannot be replaced but I found the tip to be comfortable to use so have no complaint on this personally. On the base of the pod portion, there is a metal ring that is threaded where the pod screws onto the base. I like this design much better than having magnets to hold the tank to the base. On the bottom of the tank portion is the fill port with a rubber plug. The base is metal and has two slotted airflow holes. For the .3 coil I liked the airflow 2/3 open but with the .15 coil I ran the airflow open and felt like it could have used more airflow to run the coil at the recommended wattage. The .15 coil has a recommended wattage of 50-60 watts which I was not comfortable with since I don’t like a really warm vapor. I found it tolerable at 45 watts. The .3 coil is rated at 38-45 watts and once again I liked it at the lower setting of 30 watts. The coils are push in style but there is a threaded ring that must be screwed onto the coil before inserting it into the tank and of course the end of the coil is threaded to accept the ring.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Overall, I enjoyed testing the Rincoe Jellybox Mini kit. I found the ergonomics of the mod to be comfortable to hold and the positioning of the fire button to feel rather natural. There is a little bit of wiggle to the = and – buttons but let’s be realistic. This is an inexpensive mod made of PC and zinc. I find it fascinating to be able to see the battery and the electronics on the inside of the mod. I personally do not like the LED lights in the body of the mod and the first thing I did when I put the battery in was to shut them off. I’m glad that they give an option of using them or not. The wattage adjustment is in one watt increments which some people might not like. I really don’t mind it on this mod. It’s nice to have six different color options on the display and definitely like being able to lock the adjustment buttons and still being able to fire the mod.

The Jelly tank has a good design with the PC portion of the tank threading onto the base of the tank. I do wish the fill port would have been on the side or top rather than having to unscrew the tank to fill. I do feel like with the .15 coil that more airflow would have been nice and they could have enlarged the airflow slots. The flavor production from the two coils that were included was mediocre. It wasn’t bad but wasn’t great. If I was going to buy replacement coils then I would probably get the .3 coils for my personal taste and style of vaping. One thing I don’t like is the threaded ring that must be screwed onto the coil before inserting it. I could see this getting lost and then the tank is useless. A better design would have been to machine that onto each coil.

So, would I recommend the Rincoe Jellybox Mini kit for others? If you’d like an inexpensive mod that can use up to 21700 batteries and seems to function well then yes. As far as the tank goes, maybe. The tank would be dependent on how picky you are on flavor. Like I said, it’s not bad but far from the best flavor producing tank I’ve tried. That being said, I’d like to thank Lilia and Sourcemore for sending the Rincoe Jellybox Mini kit for this review and thank you to the readers. Below is a link to the Sourcemore website and a coupon to get a good price on the Jellybox Mini.

BIG Thank You to @Markfm

Big shout Out to @markfm for his extraordinary kindness in sending to me an Innokin Ares 2 LE, as well as some fantastic tasting home roasted coffee. This was above and beyond the call. I finally got the time to sit down and build/wick it up, and wanted to say I am really enjoying this atty. Both the looks of it and the taste of the juice are really great on this. He had wanted to piff two extra Ares he'd received and I was fortunate to receive one. This had actually been one I'd been looking at but hadn't been able to order, all things being said. Thank You again!!

SMOK ACRO Kit review - only 11.2mm thick

The manufacturer immediately stepped up its efforts-SMOK technology is one of the earliest milk teeth in the vape industry. Did not hesitate to introduce their next mod pod kit - let us get acquainted with SMOK ACRO Kit.
smok_acro_25w_pod_system_kit.jpg

Parameters
Dimensions: 103 x 30.2 x 11.2mm
Weight: 48g Body
material: zinc alloy + plastic
Power supply: built-in 1000mAh
Cartridge capacity: 2.0ml
Evaporator resistance: 0.8Ω
Output power: 5 - 25W
Voltage range: 1.5 - 4.0V
Operating mode : VW
Supported resistance: 0.6 - 2.5Ω

The main violin in the set is naturally played by size and shape-it is easy to guess from the name that the device is very compact and most importantly thin. This is almost the thinnest mod pod kit on the market. Certainly the stealth factor, the ergonomics of future owners may be enviable.
smok_acro_25w_pod_system_kit_red_gold.jpg

The decor is moderate, one might even say austere. For him, the color of the case is more responsible, the variety of proposals of which, as always, pleases. Removable cartridge of small capacity, and what you wanted from a compact device. Side filling, drip type is flattened. It is possible to monitor the liquid level inside.

Built-in evaporator, made on a grid. For its maintenance, airflow adjustment is provided - this is a special slider on the back of the device. But with the activation button, they decided not to shallow it, and therefore they settled it on the larger front end. By the way, the Smok device can also start by tightening.

Help with choice of sub ohm tank plz

Hey - vaped for a LONG time. Mostly MTL tanks and I have been using the Zenith for a couple of years which I really like, but I'm too hard on it. I vape too much. Anyway, I've started using thicker liquids 70/30 and it's even more difficult for my Zenith. I do thin it out with a little menthol drops. But here's my question. I've been pondering going to a sub ohm tank but I just really don't know which to choose. As it stands, I'm thinking the falcon 2? Do their coils last long? Do the tanks leak even if liquid is thinned out a bit (not much). Anyway, if anyone has any recommendations, plz post reply. Thanks :)

I'm Looking for a Nice, Basic Tank

After 11 years of vaping, I'm over my shiny-itis. I had a slight relapse last year when I tried tanks. I don't like them. So I'm back to my Cubis and iStick 60Ws. Unfortunately, my Cubis collection is dying off from old age.

This is what I'm looking for:
3ml (preferably bigger) -- I'll vape one flavor for a few days in a row so I don't want to refill often. But, if I have to, I'll buy 2ml tanks.
No rebuildables -- I tried it and I'm incompetent. I'll have to stock up on coils. (My favorites tend to be about 1.0 ohms, but I'm okay with as low as 0.2)
Lots of coils currently in stock so I can buy a bunch.

Edit: I'm a mouth-to-lung vaper.

That's about it -- just something basic. Any suggestions?

(It's off topic here, but I probably need a few more mods that use a single 18650 battery. Anything more is too heavy for my hand.)

Thanks in advance.

Steam Crave Glaz Mini Atomizer(s)

Just as the title says, I'm looking to try and buy a couple of Steam Crave Glaz Mini MTL Atomizers. I fell in love with these a little late in the game, and now I can't find them anymore. If you have one you're not using, let me know what you want for it, and I'd love to try to work out a deal.

I don't care about the color, but I would like it (or them) to be in good condition. Feel free to respond here or shoot me a PM if you want a quicker response. Thanks!

Geekvape Wenax K1 Pod Kit - Review

Hi ECF members, In this review i take a look at the Wenax K1 Pod Kit from Geekvape. The Wenax K1 Pod Kit was supplied for the purpose of this review by Geekvape.

Wenax K1

Introduction

Geekvape need no introduction and here we have one for those trying to give up the stinkies or those that like a MTL vape using a convenient simple pod device when out and about.

The Wenax KI is the upgrade of the Wenax device and comes with 2 different refillable pods with fixed MTL coil heads. The device features two different modes which offer either both Auto and fire button activation or just Auto Draw with the fire button redundant! The K1 also has 3 different constant output settings with a form of boost for steady output and gives 3 Tier battery status indication. With it's type C USB port and ergonomic form factor let's give the new Wenax a closer look!

___________________________________________________________________

In The Box

Contents:

2 x Wenax K1 Pod (0.8ohm,12-16W; 1.2ohm,10-12W)
1 x USB Cable (Type-C)
Paperwork

Aesthetics and Ergonomics

The Wenax K1 came in simple White sample cardboard packaging with the main features listed on the reverse. The device comes in many colour options, I received the blue version which is a nice Royal Blue, the choices are Blue, Gold, Gunmetal, Black, Red, Sky Blue, Army Green, Pacific Blue or Orange.

The form factor is narrow and flat rather than cylindrical and has a round concave fire button central towards the top on the front, underneath is a small LED. Towards the top both sides we have small airflow holes and on the reverse we have "WENAX" etched into the finish.

Up top we have the protruding lightly tinted pod with fixed Delrin mouthpiece, moving to the base is where the Type C USB port can be found. Not sure if the device is Aluminium or Zinc Alloy but it's a nice lightweight, small and ergonomic!

The Pods

You receive 2 pods with a different resistant coil head installed in each one, the specs are printed on the base of each pod which is needed as the pods are identical.

The pods are tinted but ever so lightly so seeing your juice is no problem at all, the section of the pod that holds your juice also protrudes outside the device so you can see the level at all times. The pod has a comfortable flat mouthpiece with quite a wide opening but when looking inside you can see it narrows further down inside to be suitable for a tighter draw. Looking at the base we have the contacts, printed specs and also to either side an opening for the auto draw tube within the pods bay, allowing the pod to get fitted either way!

To one side we have a Black Silicone plug with an arrow showing where to lift. I must say i found this quite fiddly to remove for filling but that might in part be because i had only just cut my nails. Once removed with the pod held on it's side the generous sized fill port allows a quick, mess free fill, the pod holds 2ml of liquid!

Fitting The Pod

looking inside the pods bay we can see the Gold plated, spring loaded contacts and to the left the small tube which leads to the membrane switch. We can also see a small hole either side on the wall of the bay which will allow air to get to the pod.

On the base of the pod we have a hole either side for the auto draw tube so it doesn't matter which way the pod gets fitted. The pod has no magnets but just uses tabs locking into indentations when press fitting into place and it gives a loud click as it locks. To remove firmly grip the pod and give it a strong pull, when in place there is no movement from the pod whatsoever!

Operating The K1

To turn the device on is 5 clicks of the fire button and the LED lights up Blue for 1 second, when first turned on the device can be fired by either using Auto draw or pressing the fire button. 5 more clicks of the fire button will see the LED cycling through Red, Blue and Green to confirm the mode has changed to Auto Draw, in this mode the physical button no longer fires the device so it can't fire by accident when in a pocket, another 5 clicks turns the device off which again is confirmed by the LED lighting Blue for 1 second.

The device has some form of buck boost so it doesn't suffer from drop off in power as the battery life runs down which allows for constant output settings.

I have no idea what the settings are as far as voltage or wattage output is concerned as at the time of writing details are not in depth including with information in the manual. You can change between the settings by clicking the fire button 3 times quickly and the LED will light up for 1 second in the corresponding colour, they are described as the following:

Low = White
Medium = Blue
High = Green

The device also has battery status indication which is shown by what colour the LED lights while taking a vape, the tiers are the following:

Green = 70 to 100%
Blue = 31 to 69%
Red = 0 to 30%

The LED also flashes in different colours various amounts of times to give alerts when safety protections kick in!

Protections:

Low Battery protection
No Atomizer Protection
Short Circuit Protection
10s Over-vape Protection
Overheat Protection

Charging

The Wenax K1 has a type C USB port positioned on the base which normally would be a con for me as i like a device standing up when charging but as the device is narrow and has a semi rounded base it's not steady when standing up anyway so much better kept lying down rather than it just falling constantly!

Not sure of the charge rate as it's not mentioned and when trying to time it i kept missing when it was fully charged, my guess is 1A, it charges quite quickly!

While charging the LED breathes Red between 0 to 69% and then breathes Green between 70 to 99%, once fully charged the LED stays lit Green until removing the USB, the Wenax K1 also supports pass-through!

My Thoughts!

If you like the Caliburn but wish it had a tighter draw then the Wenax K1 should fit your needs perfectly. Geekvape say each pod should be able to be refilled 10 times but that's down to how much the flavour needs to drop off before the individual deems it not up to standard, personally with both pods i found 8 fills and then i noticed a drop off in flavour but still will give decent flavour for a few more refills!

There isn't a lot wrong with the K1 so struggling a bit for cons but the obvious one is that the whole pod needs replacing rather than just the coil and also although the K1 gives a fantastic MTL vape having no adjustable airflow is another. I also much prefer top-fill as i don't want to have to remove the pod every time i need to fill although filling is quick and mess free. I did find the bung a little fiddly but i am putting that down to i have just cut my nails right back so not an issue!

The 0.8ohm pod gives a medium MTL draw while the 1.2ohm gives a medium tight MTL draw and the standout feature for me is just how well the Auto Draw works which matches the physical fire button for performance. Having 3 different output settings is also a pro although the difference between settings is very subtle and the battery status indications while only being 3 tiers are nicely spread out so fit for purpose. The flavour from both pods is very good with the 0.8ohm pod having the edge although i found this ploughed through juice for such a small device, i also experienced zero leaking.

Battery life was surprisingly good with the 0.8ohm pod lasting easily while out and about doing daily chores and when using the 1.2ohm pod it lasted the best part of the day! It charges quickly and supports pass-through!

Being able to have the device in Auto Draw only mode is another pro for those that prefer Auto Draw as this means the device can be left on ready to be vaped while not firing by accident in your pocket. I like that there is good visibility of the juice level at all times and how light and ergonomic the little fella is, very good pod device!!!!

So shipping will end...

While I have several vape shops near to me. I have always purchased most of my liquids via the mail/shipping. As we all know thehoverment is overacting to the problems of kids buying homemade spiked juice on the street. Ending shipping will do-nothing to solve the problem. It only hurts us, and justice the war on drugs is doomed to fail.
