Currently the Smok Morph 2 kit can be purchased in 8 different color combinations.

Smok Morph 2 Kit 5.jpg

First impressions:
I received for this Test the Smok Morph 2 TFV18 kit in “White-Red” color. This Morph 2 kit is designed in red / garnet colored zinc alloy (same color for the TFV18 tank).
The soft two-tone leather (White-Red) covers a large part of the surface, and undoubtedly gives a comfortable touch, the excellent degree of finish and the right leather / metal mix give this kit an elegant sporty look.

Before receiving the kit and based on the images on the internet, I was expecting a much bigger and heavier Mod, I must say that I have been proved wrong, the Morph 2 has quite comfortable dimensions, it carries well and does not weigh too much. I like that!

The new TFV18 tank has a rather imposing appearance without however being more bulky than the previous TFV16.
TFV16 and TFV18 look like twins, however the differences are there and we will see them later.

Smok Morph 2 Kit 7.jpg

The front shows the 0.96 "color screen, the USB-C charging socket, the" + "and" - " adjustment buttons, all housed within a metal holder, surrounded by two-tone leather upholstery.

On the back, the frame design houses the large vertical writing “Morph2” in the center, the two-tone coating creates the edge and extends to the sides of the Mod.

Smok Morph 2 Kit 8.jpg

The fire button is located on the side, its shape is rectangular of excellent size and is easy to click, on this side you can see the writing "smok Newchip inside" in the center between the two parallel red seams.

On the other side there are 3 white parallel seams on the red background.

Smok Morph 2 Kit 9.jpg

The top of the Mod Morph houses a cup with 510 attachment and spring loaded pin, the cup is fixed to the frame by three torx screws. The central position allows to house tanks up to 31mm in diameter without protrusion.

The access door to the compartment / batteries is located in the lower part of the Mod, in addition to logos & brands you can see the opening / closing mechanism and the writing “Designed & Manufactured By Smok”.

Voopoo DRAG X PLUS review by hittman

Hello and welcome to my second review for Voopoo. This time I will be looking at the Drag X Plus kit that was sent to me in order to do a fair and honest review. After testing the Drag 3, I had high hopes of the performance and operation of the Drag X Plus. Especially since the kit contains the same TPP pod tank and coils. The operation and function of this mod is similar to prior Drag X mods but there have been a couple of changes which I will talk about later in this review. For now, let’s go down and take a look at the features and what is included in the kit.

1* TPP Pod Tank 5.5ml
1* TPP-DM1 0.15ohm Coil
1* TPP-DM2 0.2ohm Coil
1* Type-C Cable

First Impressions:

I’ll start with the packaging. Just like the Drag 3, the cover slid off to expose the Drag X Plus mod and the same TPP tank that was included in the 3 kit. After lifting the insert to get the accessory box, I grabbed the tab to pull it out and it ripped the accessory box due to it being too tight of a fit in the outer box. Definitely the packaging needs improvement.

DRAG X PLUS mod:

I received the Prussian blue in the Drag X plus as well as the Drag 3 and think it is quite attractive. The buttons on this mod seem similar if not exactly the same as the Drag 3. You’re probably wondering by now what is different about this kit compared to the original Drag X. Well the first thing is the Plus has a 510 connection which makes it useable with any 510 threaded tank without an adapter. Also the Plus can use a 21700 battery as well as an 18650 battery. One other slight difference is the new “DRAG” badge located on the rear of the unit on the top. This new badge is supposed to be included on all future Drag models.

Facing the display side, you have the fire button that has no rattle on top with the display directly beneath that. Below the display is the + and – buttons with the USB-C charging port below that. To the right of the display there is just “Gene chip inside” etched into the metal. On the opposite side from that is the Voopoo name etched into the metal. On the rear of the unit there is the soft leather and “DRAG X” stamped in large letters with the word “PLUS” in much smaller letters below that. On top is the 510 connector held in with two screws and it has a spring loaded gold plated center pin. On the bottom is the battery door which has a single arrow indication which way to slide the cover in order to install the battery. It operates very easily. On the inside surface of the battery door it has a – symbol indicating how to install the battery.

The Drag X plus does contain the Gene Fan 2.0 chip for fast firing. There are two modes of operation which are Smart VW and RBA. If you’re not familiar with it, the Smart VW mode senses the coil resistance and automatically sets the wattage in the recommended range and limits you to that range. RBA mode gives the user full control.

The menu or button operation is fairly simple without a lot of bells and whistles. The button sequences are as follows.

- Press the fire button five times to turn the mod on and off

- Press the fire button three times to switch between Smart and RBA modes

- Press both buttons to switch between the two available display themes which are Core and Iron

- Press the fire button and the + button to lock the device. This unfortunately not only locks the adjustment buttons but also keeps the unit from firing.

- Press the fire button and the – button to clear the puff counter

all-sides-2.jpg

The TPP Pod Tank:

Since the exact same tank and coils were included in the Drag 3 and Drag X Plus kits, I have copied the TPP tank information from Drag 3 review.

The TPP (Tank Pod Push) pod tank is somewhat similar in my opinion to the PNP tank. With differences being the removable drip tip and metal top cap. Also the TPP tank is 5.5ml capacity while the PNP is 4.5ml. The base of the pod has three strong magnets to hold it in place. The coils are a push in style just like the PNP tank coils were. On the bottom of the pod is also the rubber fill port plug. In my opinion, the fill port could have been a little larger. When installed, the coil sticks out about 1/8 of an inch or so in order to reach the electrical contacts inside the 510 threaded base that the pod sits inside of. There is a shoulder inside the base that the surface of the pod where the fill port is rests. I do wish that the top cap of the TPP tank opened for top filling instead of having the fill port on the bottom of the tank like the PNP tank had. One nice thing is that the tank is fairly transparent which makes filling and monitoring the liquid level much easier.

I did notice on the TPP tank that without firing and the airflow closed about half way that I did get a whistling sound. It isn’t obvious at this setting when firing but when closed down even further while firing there is a whistling noise. It’s not a deal breaker but I don’t much care for the noise. This being said, I doubt that people will run the airflow that tight with the included coils but can’t say that for sure. I tried it just to test it but tended to run either coils over half way open.

The new TPP coils are quite different in appearance as the opening on the sides is one large bone shaped opening on each side to allow liquid to saturate the cotton and the coil inside. The TPP mesh coils are supposed to maximize atomization surface and also improve the heating speed. I detected no delay between pressing the fire button and the time vapor was produced. I found the flavor produced to be quite good and have no complaints on that or the amount of vapor produced. That is especially the case with the .15 coil when I ran it at 60 watts. It could fill a room with vapor in no time. However, on the Drag X Plus, I did end up liking the .2 ohm coil at 45 watts the most.

IMG-4362.jpg

tank.jpg

Final Thoughts:

I did very much like the Drag X Plus while testing it. The hand feel is nice and it has a decent weight to it with the 21700 battery installed but it’s not too heavy. In my opinion, it has a very attractive appearance. The simple menu system makes it easy to operate for just about any user. Besides being able to use a 21700 battery, there was an 18650 adapter that makes it more versatile.

I very much liked the flavor and vapor production from the TPP tank and coils but in the end did prefer the .2 coil at 45 watts with the airflow about 2/3 open. The bottom of the TPP tank stayed dry the entire time with the .2 coil. I wanted to mention that because some users have had leaking issues with the PNP coils. It is nice that the mod can use any tank with 510 threading. Not only this but the base for the TPP pod tank can be used with the PNP pod tank.

Just like the Drag 3, the screen was plenty bright for me. I found the Core display theme easier to see the information on. Over all the Drag X Plus is really a decent mod even if you aren’t interested in using the TPP tank and coils.

Would I recommend the Voopoo Drag Plus? Yes I would. It’s really a nice size and weight for a 21700 mod and the TPP tank and coils perform well.

I’d like to thank Voopoo and Chloe for sending the Voopoo Drag X Plus for this review. Also, thanks to those that choose to read my reviews. Below is a link to the Voopoo website if you would like to take a closer look.

Voopoo DRAG 3 review by hittman

Hello and welcome to yet another one of my reviews. Today I will be discussing the Voopoo Drag 3 mod with the new TPP pod tank and coils that were sent to me for the purpose of doing a fair and honest review. I own several different Voopoo devices and am very familiar with the PNP series coils and pod tanks. I however, have not had extensive experience with the earlier versions of the Drag mods besides the Drag Max which I do own. I will try to cover the features to the best of my ability and obviously give my opinion on the mod and tank. So, without further ado, let’s go take a look.

1* TPP Pod Tank (5.5ml)

First Impressions:

Let me start with the packaging. For such a nice kit, the packaging was not impressive. The outer sleeve slid off to expose the very nice looking Drag 3 mod and the new TPP tank. Once I removed those and lifted the insert up to get to the accessory pack, I found the accessory box with a pull tab to lift the accessories out of the box. The accessory pack was so tight in the outer box that the pull tab ripped down the face of the box and ruined the accessory pack box. I know packaging isn’t everything but I feel like such a beautiful mod kit deserves better packaging. This same thing also happened when trying to remove the accessory pack for the Drag X Plus. I definitely think Voopoo can improve on product packaging.

Now that this negative is out of the way, let’s move on to some positives. To me the Drag 3 and TPP tank are a very attractive combination. I received the Prussian blue version which I very much like since blue is my favorite color. I was a little surprised that the Drag 3 wasn’t a really heavy device. It has a decent weight to it with the two 18650 batteries installed but is not so heavy as to make me tired from holding it like I have experienced with some dual battery mods in the past.

The kit included the Drag 3 mod, TPP pod tank, DM1 coil rated at 60-80 watts, DM2 coil rated at 40-60 watts, USB-C charging/update cable, and user manual.

The Drag 3 Mod

The Drag 3 mod in my opinion is very nice looking. The silver with the Prussian blue that I received is a nice match On the face of the device starting from top to bottom is the round fire button which is a little clicky and does not rattle at all. Below that is the 1.08 in. TFT display with the + and – buttons below that followed by the USB-C charging port near the bottom. Facing the display, the right, rear, and left sides are covered with a soft padded leather wrap that is almost like a brushed leather or something. On the right side is the Voopoo name stamped into the leather and on the left side in much larger letters is DRAG 3 stamped into the leather with the word GENE written on the silver metal closer to the front in somewhat small font. On the rear of the device is the new metal badge that says DRAG. This is supposed to be the badge for all future Drag devices produced. I like the looks of it. On top is the 510 connection held in by two screws and the gold plated center pin is spring loaded. On the bottom is the battery door with three arrows indicating which way to slide the door in order to open it to install the batteries. On the door that flips up, there is a + and – symbol indicating how to install the batteries correctly.

The Drag 3 comes with three available modes which are Smart VW, RBA, and Super. Super is only available when the resistance is between .1 and .3 ohms and the wattage setting is greater than 80 watts. There is a software download available that will allow you to also have Temperature Control but it is not on the device as it is packaged. I’m not really sure why that is. Why not have all four modes available right out of the box? I’m guessing because not that many people use TC as use VW but if it were me then I’d have it already installed on the device. I did in fact go to the Voopoo website and download the update. It’s not hard to do. First you go to Support at the top of the page. That will take you to a page with a listing of devices. Click on Drag 3, and then software. It will show two downloads available. First download and install the configuration software. Then download the update and from inside the Voopoo program choose the file from your download folder and update the device. You will then have the latest software which includes the Temperature Control mode. I am not a big TC user but did try it out and it seemed to work pretty well.

The button and menu operation are as follows.

- Press the fire button five times to turn the device on and off

- Press the fire button three times to change between modes

- Press the fire button and the + button to lock or unlock the entire device

- Press the fire button and the – button to clear the puff counter

- Press the + and – buttons to change between the two display options which are Iron and Core

I personally like the core display option since it makes the display and numbers a little easier for me to read. The Drag 3 contains the Gene Fan 2.0 chip which boasts .001s firing. I have no way of measuring this but do think that the mod fires very quickly.

The TPP Pod Tank

VOOPOO-Drag-X-Plus-Kit-TPP-Pod-Tank-2.jpg

The TPP (Tank Pod Push) pod tank is somewhat similar in my opinion to the PNP tank. With differences being the removable drip tip and metal top cap. Also the TPP tank is 5.5ml capacity while the PNP is 4.5ml. The base of the pod has three strong magnets to hold it in place. The coils are a push in style just like the PNP tank coils were. It could fill a room with vapor in no time.

tank.jpg

Final Thoughts:

Over all I very much enjoyed testing the Voopoo Drag 3 mod with the new TPP tank. The mod is fairly comfortable to hold even though it is a dual battery mod. I felt like the leather wrap on it was very nice and liked how the lettering was stamped into the leather.

I found the display screen to be plenty bright and preferred the core display mode to make reading it a little easier. The display at 1.08 in. is a little larger than what most mods I’ve reviewed have had and did like the extra space to make room for the information.

I did like the TPP tank and coils but don’t really know that I like them that much better than the PNP tank and coils. The PNP pod tank will fit and operate in the TPP base so if you have PNP coils like I do, you don’t have to go and start stocking new coils if you don’t want to. However, the PNP coils will not work in the TPP pod tank and vice versa. You can also just use the Drag 3 like any other mod with a 510 connection.

I did have some leaking from the first .15 ohm coil but pulled another one from the Drag X plus kit that I will be reviewing soon and haven’t had any leaking with the second coil as of yet. The .2 coil was completely dry the entire time I used it at 45 watts. Not because of the first coil being bad, I did like the .2 coil better simply because it fit my style of vaping better.

In the current market it seems like there is a new pod or pod mod every day. It gets a little redundant after a while in my opinion. It was refreshing to me to see Voopoo release the Drag 3 kit with a 510 connection that can be used with the TPP, PNP, or any tank with a 510 threaded connection.

So, would I recommend the Voopoo Drag 3 kit to others? I would. Even if you aren’t a high output user, the dual batteries will give you long life. The mod is attractive to look at and functions well in my opinion. With a software upgrade, it can operate in TC mode also. I’m just not understanding why the update wasn’t already installed when it was shipped. Perhaps this will change when the Drag 3 is in full production and released.

A big thanks to Voopoo and Chloe for sending the Voopoo Drag 3 kit for me to review and thanks to those that choose to read my reviews. Below is a link to the Drag 3 product page.

Univapo Miso Pod Kit Review

Hello again fellow vapers :)

Today i will review the Univapo Miso Pod Kit which i was sent by @UNIVAPO_Rebecca.

Couple of FYI's before i start the review:

- @UNIVAPO_Rebecca Sent me 2 Miso Pod Kits along with a box of 3 pod replacements.
I did keep one Miso for the review but the other i gave away to a friend who works at the gas station.
He is or better yet he was a smoker, just had his second kid and money tight for him so he had to cut down on smoking.
I donated the one of the Miso Pod Kit along with the 3 Miso pod replacements to him and took him to my local vape shop so he could get some nic salts.
I hope you don't mind @UNIVAPO_Rebecca that i gave it away but you know i like to help people and so far he has been 3 days off the cigarettes and with no plan to going back so i call that a small victory.

-I do no use nic salts to vape,i use my usual 70% VG/30% PG with 3mg nicotine.
I used the same e-liquid i usually vape to test this Pod Kit.

-This review is done by someone who doesn't use these kind of devices so i will approach this review as someone who wants to quit smoking or needs something small and portable to keep in the glove compartment in case he can't find his main vaping device.

Time to get started.

The Univapo Miso Pod Kit,contents of the package:

IMG_20210127_135142.jpg

1 x Miso Pod(2ml)
1 x Miso Battery.
1 x Type-C USB Cable.
1 x User Manual.

Simple packaging with everything you need to get started.

Ok enough information given,first impressions:

Once i took it out of the box i was impressed by its size,i was also impressed by the way it felt in my hand.

Feels sturdy and well made even thou it is really small,I'm a big guy with big hands so it did feel a bit small for me,here is a hand check so you can see the proportions:

IMG_20210127_135329.jpg

Time to vape:

Refilled the pod with my usual e-liquid and let it sit for 15 minutes so it get the coil nice and primed.

This device has both the option for Restricted Direct to Lung and Mouth to Lung:

ErLH2rMVkAAtrff.jpg

Just have to take the pod out and turn it around and you can switch from one mode to another.
Started vaping with Restricted Direct to Lung mode and tried that for a bit, pretty good flavor i must say but a bit restricted for my usual type of vaping so i then took the pod out and turned it around, inserted it and voila!! ready to give Mouth to Lung mode a try.

Much better this time, good flavor and a decent cloud for this type of device.

PROS

- Great flavor,something i wasn't expecting from a device with this size
- Battery duration is very good
- C-Type USB charging? enough said,win win!!
- Looks wise i am loving it,combination of metal (aluminum i think) and plastic looks aesthetically pleasing
- For a first time user it is really simple to use, which is a great pro since this is the perfect device to quit smoking cigarettes and start vaping.
- Option to choose between Draw and button activated vaping is another pro.
In this case i didn't notice a difference in performance when using it without pressing the button.
You will get the same performance if you press the button or just draw.
- Charging time is a major pro,i mean 20 minutes? wow yeah that is a really good thing

CONS

- The only con i can come up with is that you only get one pod in the box.
In my honest opinion an extra pod in the box would be a nice addition.
Not saying this is the case but maybe one of the pods in the box is faulty, then you are stuck without a pod and unable to use the device.
Even if the price has to be adjusted i would include a second pod in the packaging.

Final thoughts:

Really cute device that is sturdy and well made.

Who would i recommend this to?

First time vapers,i mean the device is really easy to use, fast charging time and small so you can carry it in ANY pocket.

Also i would recommend this to vapers who are easily distracted and can sometimes forget to bring or carry their mod.
Due to it's small size you can leave it anywhere you want, the glove compartment of your car for example and in case you forget your main vaping device you can always use this to meet your vaping needs.

Big shout out to @UNIVAPO_Rebecca for sending me Miso pods (and coils for my UA25 tank)

Hope you guys enjoyed reading my review.

Thank you.

P.S: Sorry Rebecca for the late review, things hectic at home and i haven't had much spare time.

Voopoo Drag 3 Review

Hi,

Today a new DRAG by Voopoo, the Drag 3. The latest dual battery DRAG box-mod was the Drag 2 and that has been already over 2 years ago. Inside the Drag 3 kit you will receive the newly released TPP pod-tank and coils.

Thank you @VOOPOO_Thea l for sending me this kit for review.

Specifications:

Packaging:

Drag 3 Device
TPP Pod Tank
TPP-DM2 0.2ohm
TPP-DM1 0.15ohm
Type-C USB Cable
User Manual

Review:

First impression is that this mod is entirely different from the Drag 1 and 2. The Drag 1 and 2 were quite similar, but this one is not. Drag 3 is made from Zinc alloy with a nice leather finish. It is quite a light-weight dual battery box mod weighing ************ grams. Leather feels nice and the device is very comfortable both thumb and index finger fire.

Not a big fan of the branding on it though. We are used to large DRAG markings on the Drag series, but this one additionally has DRAG written on a badge in the top side part of the mod, not necessary for me. Still, this color version looks beautiful, love the silver/stainless steel metallic parts that match up very well with the leather pattern.

Regular ‘DRAG Fire-buttons’ which are just great, they click nicely and do not rattle. Just like with any Gene chip device it fires up extremely fast.

Slide and open/close battery door feels quite solid, does not rattle much when opened. On the inside of the battery door will be the battery + and – marking which help figuring out which way to put your batteries. Just like Drag 1 and 2 it takes dual 18650.

On the top you will find a 510-plate that sticks out minimally, it does not create a noticeable gap between the tank and mod. 510-pin is gold-plated, and spring loaded. Happy they did not put any branding on the top.

On the front you will find a large screen that covers almost the whole width of the device. A very nice and vibrant screen as always on Voopoo devices. You can change the theme by holding the up and down button, Iron (horizontally) or Core (vertically). No option to change colors on this one. On the screen you will find all required information, and I am happy to see dual battery indication.

Out of the box this Drag 3 is much less functional than the Drag 1 and 2. It out of the box only has VW mode (Smart and RBA mode), but you are able to get TC mode on this device with the help of a firmware upgrade. I find it a bit strange that TC is not included as default thought, and that the user will need to go through the pain of doing a firmware upgrade.

Smart mode is useful when using the stock TPP coils as it will identify the coil and set the right wattage, also it will block going over the recommended wattage. This is always a good feature as it supports in not accidentally burning your coils. When in RBA mode and going over 80W it will automatically change to ‘SUPER’ mode, this mode is supposed to support in getting bigger clouds. As I am not much into vaping over such high wattage I cannot say if it really does make a difference, but I doubt.

177W is the maximum you will get which is more than acceptable for a dual 18650. It does not round-robin at 177W which is a bummer, but overall is scroll fast in 1W increments. Below a short description on what you can do with the DRAG 3 with the out of the box software:

· 5 x fire-button = power on/off
· 3x fire-button while on = change between Smart, RBA/Super mode
· Hold fire-button and up button = lock/unlock the device
· Hold fire-button and down button = reset puff-counter
· Hold up and down button = change between two theme, Iron and Core

Overall conclusion is that out of the box it is very limited. If you are just into VW, great you are ready to go out of the box, but if you use curves/TC/Voltage you will be disappointed.

Gene chip still has still the same issue (at least I find this annoying), when locking the device, you are not able to fire it. In my opinion on Gene chip devices locking is the same as turning off really.

Device does have USB-C which is always a plus. However, I never charge a dual-battery mod through the USB port, always out of the box on an external battery charger. But it’s good because nowadays so many devices are converting to USB-C, easy to find a cable somewhere.

As said, a new pod-type with new coils. I think Voopoo wanted to create a taller and larger capacity pod and therefor invented the TPP pod and coils. Pods are nice and transparent and hold proper amount of 5.5ML. Coils are larger than PnP and are not cross-compatible.

Bottom fill plug can be easily opened, and the fill port is OK in size for most bottle tips. I think they could have gone with top fill on this pod, but maybe esthetic wise it wasn't of their liking. Metallic parts on the pod match in color with the metallic parts of the mod.

Both pod and 510-pod adapter make a strong magnetic connection. Bottom airflow ring turns smoothly and provides lots of airflow. It does not have a stopper, but the ring sits tight enough for it to bot easily spin around. I would have preferred if the diameter of the entire pod with be the same, for me it looks a bit weird with its thinner bottom.

I was happy to see that this pod has a replaceable 810-drip tip but was a bit disappointed to see that it only counts for drip-tips with O-rings. Pretty much all my drip-tips are without O-rings as they are from tanks with O-rings built-in the top-connector. Voopoo should have done the same thing, an integrated O-ring inside the top of the tank.

Idea of these new TPP Coils is kind of like PnP, bottom plug coils that will be cross compatible. Both 0.15 and 0.2ohm have two large bone-shaped wicking ports, in total cotton coverage is larger than regular mesh coils. This can result in two possibilities; leaking issues or very saturated flavorful vape.

Cannot complain about the vape on these coils, for me these coils are better than the PnP coils. First, the flavor is better and second, the coils don’t get dirty so quickly, something I don’t like about the PnP coils (too little cotton). The large bone shaped wicking holes make sure that chain vaping is no problem at all, also did not experience any leaking issues with these coils.

Airflow of the TPP tank is a bit turbulent and when closing it off more than half it whistles quite a bit. Such a pity as the coils are good, the airflow is not in my opinion. Overall, I think it would have been nice if a proper mesh tank was included, and not this pod adapter thingy. Good news is that you don’t have to buy the whole kit.

Conclusion:

Design wise I am more a fan of the Drag 3 than on its earlier releases, but I find the Drag 1 and 2 better functionalities wise. Drag 3 to me is almost exactly the same as the Drag Max, but with a 510-platform on it. I think Voopoo could have invested more time on getting the chip right on this one.

New TPP tank vapes nicely and the new coils are a winner compared to the PnP line, just the loud and whistly airflow is a bummer.

Pro’s:

- Looks beautiful
- Light weight
- Ergonomically shaped
- Battery-door feels solid
- Proper buttons
- USB-C
- Fires up instantly
- Smart mode always good
- TPP coils are an improvement compared to PnP
- Proper tank capacity

Con’s:

- Limited functionalities out of the box (need firmware upgrade for more)
- Not able to lock and vape
- New TPP tank is loud and whistly
- Bit too much branding
- Only compatible with 810 drip-tips with O-rings

Thank you for taking your time to read my review, appreciate it.

Take care,

Sjoerd

I did something different...mesh inside of a Recurve RDA!

Can one man have it all? We'll see.

There's 3 things I really wish I could combine in my vape setup:
-Mesh coils
-A small flavorful chamber
-And the ability to squonk my e-liquid in.

I really love how mesh coils never seem to burn, and they give you next level flavor from their surface area, the problem I've experienced is all the RDA's that are designed to hold mesh are frankly garbage (the ones I've tried), the best I've tried is the Profile RDA. The profile does the job but it's airflow is either WAY too wide open giving you a cold and almost dry hit (still great flavor though), or if you twist it to shut half the airflow off it's not even being directed at the coil anymore and you get a spitty, starting-to-burn-but-still-somehow-cold hit. My favorite RDA I tried last year and have never looked back on is the Recurve, even using normal stainless steel 31 coils, it blows the Profiles flavor out of the water due to it's smaller volume chamber and perfect airflow holes, and provides a rich, warm, satisfyingly dense hit. THE PROBLEM with the recurve is that it's not designed to accept mesh as you traditionally need a flat clamp to lock your mesh ribbon into place.

Well I got a bug up my .... and had some time on my day off so I decided to make it work. It was alot easier than I thought it was going to be, I simply twisted the end of a strip of mesh so that it could be inserted into the Recurves circular wire mount hole, I pre-heated the mesh to temper it so it would lose it's springiness and wrapped it around a diameter smaller than 3mm so that when it relaxed it would be about 3mm, it worked surprisingly well (I also cut the mesh ribbon so that it was half it's original width, otherwise you wouldn't be able to make one wrap without exceeding the width of the chamber. The only tricky part was getting the terminal end of the coil to land perfectly in the other mount screw while keeping the diameter consistent, I just kept trimming the end and twisting as needed until it was a perfect fit, and looked good. Once everything was mounted it was alot more cooperative, and I simply teased it with tweezers until no parts of the helix were touching (so-as to avoid hotspots, in the picture you can see a hotspot that I fixed near the mounting screw where it was touching the actual body of the RDA, a little nudge fixed that). I then wicked it so it was fairly snug, and at this point everything pretty much stays exactly where you move it, super easy to position where you want it.

The coil ended up being 0.56ohms, and I'm running it temperature controlled at 450F, and I've been vaping pretty hard on it for the past two hours and it's amazing. My honeydew e-liquid got doubly sweeter, the notes a little bit more obvious, and because the recurve has a small chamber it's dense and warm too with no spitting whatsoever. I'm also noticing the wick doesn't dry out as quick. If they could come out with a Recurve with mesh clamps I think it would be a GAME CHANGER.

Let me be the guinea pig for a few days if you're thinking about trying it, it feels too good to be true (besides saying a few curse words installing it) and I'm sure there's a problem I'm not finding yet haha. I'll report back if anyone is interested!

Looking for Single Coil RDA Suggestions

I currently have a Wasp Nano but it's way too airy for me. It's also kind of loud and I do a lot of late night vaping. I'd like something with a tighter draw. I use simple coils made from SS wire and I have a Dovpo Topside Dual.

This is my second attempt with squonking and I like it except for the very open airflow of the Wasp Nano. I'm not crazy about the flavor either, but that could be down to bad coil placement and wicking.

I use an OBS Engine Nano RTA and I really like that the airflow can be adjusted to very restricted to very airy. What are some good single coil RDAs that have that range of adjustable airflow?
