Hi! I just bought my first vape which is a Sigelei Shikra with a voltage input of 6.4V to 8.4V. I bought new batteries as well LG HG2 18650 20A(flat top) 3000 mAh which has 3.6V each. Maxus 50w kit contains maxus mod and fireluke 22 resin atomizer. Package is good, you will receive spare glass tank, two coils and two drip tips which is really good. This kit is pretty much small and in my opinion it looks really nice.






So let me start with the atomizer, fireluke 2 resin is in my opinion really nice atomizer, it has really nice details on the top cap and on the base. Build quality of the atomizer is good and there is nothing to complain about.






You will receive this atomizzer with 510 drip tip preinstalled and this drip tip is really comfortable for using. In the package you will receive one more 510 drip tip. On this atomizer if you want you can use any other drip tip without any problems.
This is a top fill atomizer and I really like this top fill system because top cap can't be opened randomly. On the top cap you can see marked where you need to push the top cap once you pull it up which is really nice. You can fill the atomizer really fast and easy.






This atomizer comes with regular glass tank preinstalled and capacity of this tank is 3.5ml which is really good. In the package you will get one more spare glass tank. There is no bubble glass tank in te pacakge which will be a con.
With this atomizer you will receve two coils. One coil is mesh coil with 0.25ohm resistance. The other coil that you will receive with this atomizer has 0.5ohm resistance.
On the base you can see the airflow control ring and on the ring you can see some details so you can easily adjust the airflow. We have a stopper here and you can adjust airflow without any problems. On the airflow control ring you can see one big slot and one hole so you can adjust airflow with slot or with hole. Under the airflow ring you can see one slot and 3 airflow holes so you can use only one hole or more at once.










This mod works up to 50w and this mod has built in battery. The mod is small and edges are rounded so it is comfortable for using. Build quality of the mod is good and it feels really nice in the hand, everything is as it should be.
From the top side of the mod you can see the connection that is slightly raised which is nice because mod will not be scratched on the top from the atomizer. Threads here are good I didn't have any problems with atomizers.
On the front side of the mod you can see te fire button, screen, plus and minus buttons and usb port. This device has built in battery with 2000mah capacity which is good. You will charge the battery using usb c port and this mod supports 2A charging so you can fast charge the battery. The fire button and plus and minus buttons are good and so far I didn't have any problems. The fire button has nice click and it is comfortable for using. The screen is not color screen, someone may not like that, but screen is good, brightness of the screen is good and you can see everything on the screen.



To turn on or turn off the device you need to click on the fire button 5 times and when you turn it on in the power mode you will see:

- Power
- Battery indicator
- W
- Ohm
- Puff

When you click 3 times on the fire button you will enter the menu and in the menu you can see:

- Mode (power, vpc, tc ti, tc ss, tc ni, tcr 1, tcr 2, tcr 3)
- Set (timeout, puff, time, coiltest, reset, exit)
- Info
- Exit



You can lock the device when you hold plus and minus buttons, you need to do the same to unlcok the device. You can also rotate the screen here when you hold fireb utton and minus button.











My thoughts:

Build quality of the device is good in my opinion, there is nothing to complain about. You will receive this atomizer with two coils which is great. This is a top fill atomizer and I really like top fill system here. Capacity is 3.5ml which is good capacity but it would be really nice that in the package they included bubble tank. You can adjust the airflow fast and easy and this atomizer you can use for mtl and for dtl vaping. I tried this atomizer as mtl atomizer and as dtl atomizer, it works great in both modes. Flavor on this atomizer is great, as I already said Freemax has amazing coils with great flavor.
I like the design of the mod. Edges are rounded and this mod is comfortable for using. The fire button and buttons are good. We don't have color screen here but brightness of the screen is good. Mod has build it battery with 2000mah and this mod supports fast charging so you can fast charge the battery. Mod works really well and so far I didn't have any problems.
Personally I really like maxus devices, I tried all of them and they work really good. I also like their atomizers, in my opinion they make great sub ohm tanks. I would suggest you this kit if you want to buy small and good device.

No matter what i do i get dry hits on my In'ax Carto V2. I have checked all the youtube videos, read about genesis atomizers, I am hoping someone can help me!
The problem is I get a couple great vapes after juicing it up, then i get mostly dry hits, even in a full tank. Or at best, it is mostly flavorful but very very faint.
I am using 200 mesh, the same as is recommended by In'ax.

The things i have tried....

• Using 50/50 and even thinner juice, but works best with 70vg so far
  
• Rolling the wick tightly and rolling it loosely
• Using the wick flat on both edges or cut in a straw type shape at the side facing downwards
• Letting the wick soak 24 hours before using (i get 3 delicious vapes then dry hits!)
• Tilting it while i'm vaping
• Tilting it while it's not in use
• Using a carto tank
• Using a billet box boro

The best results so far....

• Heavier vg juice
• Twisting it upside down and back up a bunch of times
• Tilting it up and down while vaping

Review:

Overall, it is properly machined, all threading feels smooth. I do however think the finishing could have been cleaner. Right out of the box there is some tiny scratches on the internal parts of the RTA on several places, nothing massive, but still.

As always, I appreciate the looks of Augvape products, especially because the branding is so minimally added onto the device. Only branding is the nicely carved in text Intake MTL on the chamber, and the ‘A’ logo from Augvape in the airflow ring and base of the tank. On the bottom of the tank you will find ‘Mike Vapes’, ‘Augvape’ and the serial number.



Taking apart the whole tank, I gave up on it to be honest. I am mainly speaking about the pre-installed glass; it is so tight onto the O-ring that I did not wan to go ahead and risk breaking it. You can take off the airflow ring for proper cleaning, which is nice.



Straight glass has 3.1ml capacity and the included bubble glass 4.6ml. For me 3.1ml is more than enough on this tank. Did not even install the bubble glass yet as the straight glass is still stuck to the tank .

Top-cap has a short ‘quarter turn’ to uncover the fill holes. It sits in place tightly meaning it would not open on its own while carrying in your pocket or bag. It’s ‘Crowned’ design makes it easy to grab onto and turn. The 510 drip-tip is a proper one for MTL, but it sits in there so extremely tight that it took some time and nerve to take it out. In the beginning I even had a feeling it was stuck and not replaceable. Fill ports are more than big enough for mess-free filling.





On the airflow ring you will find two sets of 5 air openings, not sure what was the necessity to go for two, they could have kept it with one set of 5 openings. It does have a stopper on both sides. Under the airflow ring you have two air-slot options, a single hole and a sleeve. What I find kind of odd is that I can get a much tighter draw fine tuning using the sleeve than the single hole. The difference between the largest airflow ring opening and smallest above the single air inlet is minimal. Best tight draw can be achieved using the tiniest hole above the sleeve, or just half of the tiniest hole. And yes, you can get a tight draw on this one. Overall, the airflow sounds very smooth as I would expect from a top airflow RTA.



This RTA has a dual airflow system as they include 5 different airflow screws that are screwed onto the base of the deck, under the coil. These inserts they do make quite a difference. I have mainly been using this as an MTL tank, but you can get a nice RDL draw from it as well by using the largest insert. I myself find it to vape best with the 2nd tiniest airflow insert. It is easy to screw those inserts out with a flathead, but getting them back in can be hard, it is difficult to get the threads properly aligned. It is kind of a pity that you can only replace those inserts with no coil inside as it sits right under the coil. Best way to find your airflow is to first test the inserts before adding any coil or liquid.





Very interesting straight chamber in the very top. When first looking inside the chamber I was a bit worried about the throat hit and flavor as normally chambers are oval shaped in the top, not a straight surface. But, it seems to not disturb the flavor and throat hit much.



Now it is time to look at the rather regular, but still unique build-deck. It is easy to unscrew the base from the tank because of the proper knurling on the base. It is a specific looking build-deck with the two tall airflow posts which pull the air from the top to the bottom and through the airflow insert. What is even more interesting is that the screws are reverse-threaded. Had to get used to this, but it does help that they added a tiny little note next to the screws showing which way to turn. Reverse threaded screws do have an interesting function though, it is much easier to install exotic coils as it is pushing the leads towards the metal ‘blocking-part’ so that the coil does not jump out.









You can use longer spaced coils or tinier touching coils on this deck without any issues, because you can put the coil legs at either side of the screw. Screws are proper Philips-head screws and they do screw out quite a bit making it easier to get your coil leg under it. Wicking ports are more than large enough for an MTL RTA, not much combing out action required when using up to a 3mm ID coil.



If its about the vape, it is very nice. Flavor is very proper (not the best ever) and it just feels very smooth vaping on this tank. It provides a nice throat hit as well and the airflow inserts and regulator allow for both a nice restrictive DTL hit and a very tight MTL hit.

Conclusion:

Always hard to give a proper conclusion on an RTA, because it’s so straight forward; easy to build and vapes very well.

Pro’s:

- Overall looks, minimal branding
- Proper machining
- Nice top-fill
- Proper tank capacity
- Both airflow ring and internal inserts
- Sounds very smooth
- Provides proper flavor
- Very nice throat hit
- Leak-free because its top-airflow
- Easy to build on with reversed screws and posts
- Tall screws on build deck
- Proper sized wicking ports

Con’s:

- Very hard to take of the glass out of the package
- Preinstalled drip-tip sits too tight
- Tiny finishing details, small scratches on internal parts
- Airflow could have been improved as the single hole airflow should have had a tighter draw.

Review:

Cannot say anything wrong about the looks of this box mod, it looks simple, but great. The entire frame is made from zinc-alloy with some leather or suede action on the battery door. It feels very nice in the hand as it is quite small for a 21700-box mod, smaller than most 21700 mods out there, in size it is comparable with the Aegis Solo and Vaporesso Forz TX80. It is not light nor heavy, with 198 grams (21700 battery inserted) it has a proper weight to it. All edges have been rounded out giving it a nice feel. It simply feels like a very well-made, solid device. The zinc-alloy frame is however prone to fingerprints.







What I like a lot about Augvape products is that they limit their branding on the face of the device very much. On this device the only branding you have is the logo embedded into the leather, which in the same time gives it a nice grip.

The width of the device is 26mm, but because the edges are rounded you are limited to a 25mm tank to not have any overhang. Kind of a pity as many proper DTL tanks out there are 25mm+, but it does for example pair very well with the Augvape Druga RTA which I reviewed earlier (Augvape Druga RTA Review). I’ve been mainly using it as an MTL device with the Augvape Intake MTL tank (review to come), they match just perfectly both having the gun-metal color.



A very interesting battery door concept, it holds on strongly with the mod with the help of several large magnets. Once the door is out you simply slide in the battery-door from the top of the door and slide back the door in place. Feels very solid and secure and there is no battery rattle or movement from the door. Also, nice the battery door is made from Zinc alloy giving it a durable feel.







A very nice and big fire-button on the front and two tiny navigation buttons on the side. All buttons feel very proper and react well, no rattling.





For those that like big and colorful screens, this is not your type of mod. I myself really like the way they integrated the screen, it is tiny, but for me it looks much nicer on this mod than a big screen. If you are expecting miracles from the device, you won’t get it. On the screen itself you will find also very limited information, battery level, resistance, voltage/wattage and your current power setting, there is no puff-counter.







It has only 3 modes; wattage, voltage and bypass. Wattage with a 21700 battery maxes out at 120W and with an 18650 battery at 80W, very nice that the device recognizes the different battery types as going over 80W with an 18650 is not always safe. Voltage maxes out at 6.2V, which is not massive, but in most cases enough and bypass speaks for itself. It does round-robin at 80W/120W (depending on battery) and 6.8V. Unfortunately, it scrolls in 1W increments, which is not ideal for MTL. Would have been nice if up to for example 25W it would scroll in 0.1W or even 0.5w increments for MTL fine-tuning.

What you can do with the buttons on this device:

- 5x fire-button = Power on/off the device
- 3x fire-button while on = scrolling through the three different modes (W, V, BP)
- Hold the up and down button = lock/unlock the up and down button, can still fire while locked.

And that is all you can do, as you see very limited in functions. One thing I find a bit annoying sometimes is that when trying to lock the up and down button by holding them it tends to scroll up or down before locking it.



Conclusion:

I personally like limited devices because they are simple in use, this one is perfect for that. The device itself feels properly made and performs very well. Especially liking the battery door and the fire-button on this one. For me also one of the better-looking mods that I have owned.

Pro’s:

- Very sleek looking device
- Nice battery door system
- Battery door made from zinc alloy, and not plastic
- 21700-compatible
- Lays nice in the hand because of the fabric
- Minimal branding
- Large fire-button
- Tiny, but functional screen
- Very easy to use
- Minimalistic functions (for me a pro sometimes)
- Voltage mode and Bypass mode available

There are five things which I regard as a downside:

- Missing puff-counter
- It is limited to a 25mm tank without overhang
- Scrolls in 1W increments
- Prone to fingerprints
- Hard to lock device without moving up/down the wattage or voltage

For who is this device? Well for anyone that just vapes in wattage/voltage really and does not bother the small screen. I am sure that those won’t be disappointed investing in this device which can be picked up for around 40 to 45$.
