I just woke for a sec and am wondering how the Battle at Vixen went.

Now I'm gonna have ... nightmares of coupon carrying chickens walking on sidewalk less roads, looking for vixens in the outhouse.

Vert de FURK!?!?

Steak dinner was started with a large ball peen hammer. Very rarely we had an accident that put beef on the menu like a large sheep wrecking a head of cattle with a head but.
My grandfather actually used a rifle. Then he used the truck to pull it up so we could begin skinning. Always did it in the winter. We used to place our hands inside to warm them as the temperature was usually in the 20s.

DId you ever see what happens to a head of cattle when it tries to head but a large sheep. You have to act quickly. When cattle was slaughtered at the farm it was done in a small block building just for that purpose. There as a couple of block and tackles in there.

Never saw a cow/bull head .... a sheep.... We used a block and tackle and a large tree in our front yard. We would raise it a few feet and skin until it was down to our knees, then raise it again to continue. We did this over a plywood board. Once we were finished, the intestines were dragged down the pasture for the coyotes to eat.

A sheep's skull is made for butting. When cattle try and head but with a sheep the sheep will get knocked backwards and get back up. The cattle sometimes doesn't recover and had a fractured skull. It's rare but does happen.
