This product has peaked my interest. If anyone wants to trade a 1" section of this for a bunch of the bamboo I just acquired, please PM me. I know this stuff is pricy, so I will pay postage both ways (by sending a SASE) and give you a few feet of bamboo. If not, that's cool too. No pressure; no worries.

Sent you a PM.....

my 1st impressions are... because I am able to stick a tiny screw driver in the center of the wick this was 1 of the EASIEST coils I've ever wrapped, and 2nd... So far I've only taken a few hits but those hits were FANTASTIC!! Even better than the ecowool!! Now comes the test of how often I have to dry burn and how long between coil changes. I can't really say with the ecowool, I've been using it probably 2 weeks on the same wick and it was still fine, I just changed it because I wanted to try this...lol

Glad to hear that the insert wrapping method worked for you! You can still do nice tight wraps. I dry burn avery couple days as I vape unflavored DIY so is clean juice. My coils and wicks have lasted a month and probably could go longer but I get bored and like to build new ones. :)
Here is a picture of a hand wrapped @ 12 wraps 28g around wick and pulled out my Hornet hex key insert. Came out at 1.23 ohms. I leave a little gap so juice can get to the wick easier. I usually do about 10 wraps on my metal REO but found the Woodvil has a little more kick to it being wired so I upped the resistance a bit. Hits the same as my metal at 1.1 ohms! coil.jpg

I am still using the 2mm wick from the supplier now out of favour. Found it too fragile to wrap directly on the wick, even with a mandrel inside. What has worked best for me is a 1.6 mm micro coil with 27 g Kanthal, torching the wicking material well, cut to a point and then it screws in easily. Hit is maybe less intense than cotton, but with all the other cons of cotton I can live with it. Had used one wick exactly 30 days. Dry burn every second day.

Wonder whats up with RBA supplies? it's been almost three weeks and still no 2mm. I've sent them three emails inquiring as to when it might be back in stock but haven't heard a thing. I'll be bummed if they quit stocking it or can't get anymore. I've got plenty 3mm but have really been liking the 2mm for the Sophia's and Chalice and RM2. If anyone has heard anything about an eta on the 2mm I would be real interested.

I posted this last week... I also keep an eye on his FB page and that is where the most info is for his wicking...

Jeremy said he received new product on the 4th, but it still had to be treated, cut, & bagged. He said it will be shortly after Vape Bash. He is testing his treatment methods with this batch as the last he said could have been better treated... The testing takes like 2 days per test and that is what the big hold up is at the moment. It will probably be midweek next week that it will be ready to ship from the sounds of it...

On a different note, I was a little up in the air about the micro coil / XC combo and wasn't sure if I was really happy with it. For the life of me I couldn't get it into the .055 dia coils I was making with my home made wire gizmo. I did as was instructed earlier and torched it, cut the tip at an angle, and then threaded it into the coil. All was good until about half way through the coil and it would just like snag up inside the coil. After 4 or 5 failed attempts, I just gave up and built one of the old "ugly" coils, (28g 4/5 .91Ω), built on a 1/16" drill bit but with a doubled up wick instead of a single and have had a pretty good vape so far. The coil isn't as intense as a micro, but still seems to chuck the vapor. It is a much cooler vape than the micro coil. The doubled up wick seems to be saturated more and I can get 3-4 good hits out of it now as opposed to the 1-2 hits I was getting with the single wick micro coil, (1/16")... I will definitely be ordering some more when it becomes available and I will get some of the 3mm as well to do a little experimenting. I just don't feel the 2mm can hold enough liquid to keep up with the intensity of the micro coil. I think it is just too thin overall. Will report back after I have done some testing...
