Picked up a black rx200 and some hg2's the other day and topped it with the black Bellus I bought a few weeks ago.

Absolutely loving this mod. Functionality is fantastic and the ergonomics are unlike any mod I've owned to date. The reuleaux feels so good in the hand; such a brilliant design.

I think joyetech may have outdone yihi with this chip, which is saying a lot because I'm a big yihi fan.

A+ mod. Strongly considering the purchase of another one.

...It is flush with the black ring around it and when I press it down with a screwdriver it does move a little.

It's probably the thick, curled, red, positive lead wire on the 510's center pin not having enough space to freely move up and down. Sorta kinked up and restricted. It's a common issue with many mods (*cough* Hana Modz *cough*).

I have disassembled the RX200 and could swear I noticed this potential issue, once again, but would have to take it apart again to confirm.

If you do take yours apart, be sure to remove the hidden foam plug in the battery housing that covers a screwed-to-the-board main lead to the batteries. And when reassembling be sure to carefully screw it back in and tighten it well. It was quite an ordeal figuring this out. And it's not easy, so only do this if you're comfortable with such things.

Also, you will scratch your mod doing this, probably. The paint chips easily. And you'll put teeth marks in the soft battery housing, for sure.

Also, there is a disturbingly thin lead wire on the top part of the battery housing that needs to fit in a groove to prevent stress on the wire.

Not pleased with the gauge wire in certain parts of the RX.

I'm certainly no expert on these mods, but the goo is plainly visible in that pic. Many thing will clean that baby up, ranging from something in a desert topping to something that may explode, but search back in this thread a wee bit, maybe 4-6 pages I guess(?) and you will see this subject covered in detail. But to cut to the chase you may want to use either diluted PG, (vodka is a great booster) use vodka straight with no PG, use rubbing alcohol (I suggest 91% isopropyl alcohol cause it evaps fast) or if you are feeling really daring use a lighter penetrating oil. (Ha! I can't even say the freaking name!) Then work the button a bit, gently, and rinse with water or more alc and blow it out well. Just be sure to take the batteries out and try real hard not to soak it and get the electronics wet.

Others with more experience may chime in if I missed something or am out to lunch.

edit: or what Jalcide said. lol

Mine is the same way. Very little compression. But it does move.

I also noticed how small the wires were. I haven't seen a data sheet for this chip yet to see the recommended gauges to be used, but am interested to see one if it exists.

I can confirm it is just a large gauge positive wire going into the positive pin. There is no spring from what I could see, I did not pull the pin up through to check this though. I was unable to find any more adjustment to get my pin to sit up higher and still have the "tension" to move down.

I have ordered a Varitube 510 to fix the issue and will post some walk through pics and instructions when I replace mine. I would have paid an extra $10 for the price of the mod to have a solid 510. It should have come that way to begin with IMO.

edit: BTW Wismec/ Joytech/ Mork and Mindy or whatever, do NOT ship these things set to 200 watts! Prit'near put my eye out!
I am not sure what it was set to when it arrived, but I can tell for sure that after updating to 1.08 it automatically goes to 200W. Good thing I didn't have proper batteries the night I upgraded to 1.08 as I updated it and then rushed outside, I took a hit and it was weird, not like it usually see. BAM 200W TC! It was on ~40W power mode before...

Hey guys. So I remember back in this thread someone was talking about their 510 pin being stuck. So I looked at mine and I can't tell if it's stuck or not. It is flush with the black ring around it and when I press it down with a screwdriver it does move a little.

What's that thing you have on your wismec? It looks awesome. I was thinking about getting a cheapo gel case for it, but it looks horrible. With that I would have both paint protection AND not bad looks.

Can't wait to see that, especially since I have some issues with my Wismec so I'll propably take it apart and while on it it would be a good idea to also replace that pin. Please do post it here or at least post a link to a thread in which you do that.

While I'm happy with capabilities of the RX200 is definitely sucks balls at checking the batteries voltage, at least a particular unit that I got. I have 2 friends in school that also own the very same Wismec Reuleaux RX200 from the same shop that I bought mine.

I asked one of them to allow me to put my scavenged batteries into his RX200. Guess what? It showed the voltage perfectly fine! Each one of the batteries were within 3.7. None of the batteries was 3.6 or 3.8.

On my RX200 it's horrible. One battery was 3.3 another 4.0 another ~3.5. At first I thought it could be that RX 200 checks the batts under load, but it doesn't. It checks them under no load. I recently got HG2's, brand new. I have a slow double batteries charger so it took me two days to charge my HG2's. I just pulled them out, put them in my RX200 and guess what?

3.69
4.42
4.16
All of them are above 4.10 and below 4.18 as per my multimeter. Brand new, fully charged HG2's.
This is horrible. I'm wondering if I should return it under warranty or open it up myself, it's a sort of internal struggle as I just bought it and I bought Zephyrus V2 a few days later and it's marvellous, but for christ sake. Fully charged HG2's in my RX200 appear as about 60% charged. It gets even worse with those scavenged batteries. I'm unable to use it at all if one of them drops to 3.7. It shows up low battery and after a while it eventually doesn't start up at all unless I charge the batteries or swap them out.

Not to mention that usb charging sometimes actually cause batteries to discharge if I just leave it for one night plugged in. With a wall adapter capable of 2A@5V. This is seriously disturbing...

AFAIK my batteries would already blow from overcharge on 4.42... But that's obviously not the case.

I don't know, but it's possible that you may have damaged the device with those scavenged batteries. Some of them vented, right? You said they leaked.

A quick Q if if I may... Is the actual display screen behind a lens of some sort, or is there nothing, like the dna device? I have some screen shield left over from my Note 4 and might stick some on regardless. It came out of the box with more scratches on the screen than I like, but it seems to be working well enough.

It took only 20 minutes to top up the batts this am, after ~5 mins button time since new. All the batts are happy campers and within .04v before and after charge, but very green batts though. Used the Xtar wp6 btw. The display charge is within .01 of my multimeter, so bonus there.

I think I've seen a screen cover in reviews where it's been taken apart, but I might be wrong. It has a film over the screen, that's probably what's been scratched. Just remove it.

It's apparently really tight, difficult to see and to remove. I haven't even tried on mine. Someone who has removed the film might chime in, otherwise I think it's been discussed earlier in think thread.

True, but those orange batteries work quite fine. The ones that leaked were Panasonic. Not IMR anyway I think.

Yes, I had a battery leak, it didn't flood the Wismec, but still, it was visible that there's some sort of liquid with a bad smell. After that happened I cleaned it out with toilet paper and then pulled any batteries out of RX200, took off the back door and poured Petroleum ether over the battery slots. Then I made sure it got everywhere that any electrolytes could get by pouring some more. Afterwards I put it on a radiator and turned the radiator's temparature a bit so it wouldn't do any heat damage and left it for about two days. Petroleum Ether mostly evaporates by itself within seconds if it's not too much of it, but I left it there so I would be sure it's completely dry of any possible liquids.

@KenD Yes, I read that comment and spent some time yesterday looking very closely and even used a seal-pick to see if there was an edge or something. Nope. It's not terribly scratched, but more than I expected on a brand new device. The box was shrink-wrapped but anybody and his dog can do that easily enough. Otherwise it is very clean and scratch free everywhere else. I'll stick a protector on it and enjoy it while it lasts. It's a fine device, even with a few scratches.

And I forgot to say cheers Ken. Much obliged.

Why are you using "scavenged" batteries anyways?

If your device is reading like you say it is the device is defective like mine was. You should attempt to return it, but I wouldn't be surprised if you can not do so due to the battery venting and attempted clean up job.

Best of luck in the future.

Every spec list says its spring loaded, not to mention the fact that when you press down it moves.
