How do you have red text???? Mines white, and I'd love to know how to modify it!

Look up the Rosco brand of "gels" he mentioned (they're used in photography, cinematography, misc. arts).

Saw a pic last month... someone did a four color for their VTC. Damn nice.
Was that in the VTC thread here?

As others have mentioned, I just inserted a little cut out piece of a red gel filter. Rosco Roscolux (found on Amazon). It was either Storaro Red, Light Red or Fire Red. I bought all three and am not sure which was which, because they came unlabeled all rolled together. I think it was the Storaro Red that I used.

It doesn't show in the photo, but it's a bit on the dark side. I may switch it out for the Light Red.

I don't recommend taking the RX200 apart, there's fiddly and potentially dangerous stuff in there to mess up, but if you must... go with a gel color with the highest light transmission rating. 15% or higher. Otherwise it ends up being too dark and hard to read.

Yes, I also carry multiple cells around (safely) and will continue to do so, but my interest is solely in knowing that using the usb occasionally to charge will not result in global Armageddon. Such usage would most likely be less like Russian Roulette and more like a calculated and acceptable risk. Not trying to pick a fight here. I tend to agree with you more than it might seem. My default — for everything — is to just not do it until fully understood, and I am still a long ways away from such certainty.

Every spec list says its spring loaded, not to mention the fact that when you press down it moves.

I will take detailed pictures of everything when I pull it out. I have no problem admitting I am wrong if there is a spring. I was merely stating that if you make a large gauge wire into a sideways S shape and put a pin on the end, if you push it down, it will provide resistance and return to its position.

What ever you find please post those pictures. I have been thinking about how I would go about putting a FatDaddy in my RX200 ever since you mentioned that you believe there is no spring it the 510 connector.

I can't really say that I have had problems with it 'yet' but I have notice that the movement of the pin is minimal at best. An Atty that has a marginally short 510 connector may have problems with the RX200 that for sure. I would rather stay ahead of the game and replace it.

@KenD Yes, I read that comment and spent some time yesterday looking very closely and even used a seal-pick to see if there was an edge or something. Nope. It's not terribly scratched, but more than I expected on a brand new device. The box was shrink-wrapped but anybody and his dog can do that easily enough. Otherwise it is very clean and scratch free everywhere else. I'll stick a protector on it and enjoy it while it lasts. It's a fine device, even with a few scratches.

It definitely has a film on it if you haven't removed it yet. It's a hard plastic film, and doesn't come up terribly easy. No point in putting a screen protector on top of a screen protector. I'd just leave it, or take the film off, then put the screen protector on.

Just got my first RX200 in the mail today. First impressions, clean, solid, feels good in the hand, nice responsive buttons. I immediately updated the firmware to the latest 1.08. What are the latest changes in this new FW version? Ive perused the forum but is there anything crucial that I should be aware of about this device?

Does anyone have experience using the RX200 in temp control? I'm vaping SS and sometimes it kicks back into wattage mode. It then will only move to nickel on three clicks (never goes to Ti or SS). It will also sometimes display "new atomizer up same down", which doesn't do much if I click up or down. I usually have to pull the battery to get it to go back to SS temp mode.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I find this only happens when the resistance is captured and/or locked in too high [incorrectly]

As the mod don't see a resistance rise as it would expect, it switches to wattage mode

Thanks for the quick reply! What do you think the remedy is, let it cool down as much as possible and re-lock the resistance? I gave that a try earlier today, but I'll give it another go

A couple of days ago I was setting the wattage (4 rapid presses) and notice a series of numbers displayed under the Ni setting display. ie: 0 thru to 10 could have been 5. I have not been able to replicate this, has anyone else come across this? I am thinking maybe its a memory feature but I don't know.
Any info please!

Burnie, the only thing I can think of is that as you click the button, it pulses the coil, and under the resistance it shows the actual wattage applied to the coil. Mine seems to ramp up from 5W to the limit (mine set at 55W). Once you hit the 4th click, temp moves to the lower left of the screen and it stays at your temp setting while you adjust the wattage. Hope that helps

Thanks for your reply, but I'm still scratching head If I remember correctly the numbers under the Ni display are selectable. It would be nice to have a user manual that explains all features.

I will try to replicate again, and maybe explain more. One things for sure its helping to keep my 74 yo brain active.

I haven't noticed any other difference than the font. What you should be aware of is that it's awesome
