Right!? What's funny is this one guy waving around a SB or something in his video talking about the Chinese ripping us off... and it had a Chinese atty on it.
Not that I don't get why people are ...... but c'mon. If this is about ripping off modders then they should just say so- it's bad enough to be tricked into doing marketing research. But if people are going to accuse them of spamming or other illegal activities then I need more than a video they put together in 5 minute as "proof"

It would appear that the only people being scamed here are the ones who believed it was a scam. Here are some facts.

1) Phishing sites try to get you to enter banking or credit card info, not your freakin' email address! There are MUCH easier ways to do that!
2) Using the tool "Whois" we can see from the link that the site is from Chesterbrook, PA. USA!! Vapyawards.com - Va p Ya Wards
3) Using GEOtool we can verify that on a map! Geotool

Now the only question I have is why and who would start such a rumor? Now I could be wrong and voidnil could be the Anti Christ, but I haven't been spammed and I'm the one getting the votes in my email to tally them up. I need to think for a bit and determine if all this is even worth my time.

Hmm so you are the evil Chinese corporation trying to clone and steal every american thought that has ever been produced about electronic Cigarettes?? Can you please give us your association with the website e-cigarette-china.com and how you plan to phish our information? As has been mentioned pete your evil plans to spam 100 or so people who use pv's has been defeated....please shout your evil genius catch phrase while the community takes you away....ok i thought it might have sounded funnier then it did....

Nuck I have to agree with you. I am one of the people tallying the results for the awards site and I can verify that I am getting NO ONE's EMAIL address! i see voter #38 and then the choices made by that voter. I also went in myself and did my own nominations. I plugged in my email addy and got no spam from it. The reason we ask for an email addy is to help curb "cheating". This is all being done to recognize and give thanks to those who spend their time providing us with the lifestyle change we all agree has made our lives better, and to those still trying to improve it. If you feel that you are going to be taken advantage of, then please by all means don't participate.

I think there's a certain amount of truth to what you are saying. I can tell you that I'm not seeing that in the nominations I'm going through. It looks like a lot of people took the time to give their honest opinions. At the very least we'll discover what/who is the most popular in each category. That's not necessarily a bad thing, is it? Sometimes popularity is an indication of good things. For example, Best Customer Service is something I'd like to know.
