Neither here nor there
I decided not to buy any more when I ran out.

I am excited about becoming a vaper instead of a smoker.

I am a tad aprehensive, and a little sad, though I hate to admit that.

Smoking has been such a hassle, expense and general pain in the .....

It has caused great heartache in my family.

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Five Leaves Left, a terrific album by Nick Drake, the title refers to cigarette papers.
There is a universal bittersweet feeling that comes from the end of any relationship, including the relationship between a smoker and their smokes.
Sometimes you just have to make the choice and move on, hang tough and look on it as an upgrade. Good luck.

I have one just sitting in the pack on the top of my desk...it's my "emergency ...." but will probably go stale before I use it ;-) I became sad/apprehensive/terrified at the thought of not having a full carton laying around myself, but I'm surviving between using the e-cigs and a few snus a day.

geeker, It's summer in Montana! Go outside, take a walk or sit on the porch..do anything to keep your mind off the analogs. E-cigs are wonderful, but the whole thing boils down to breaking old habits. (and starting new ones!) just like Nitewriter said.
Before you know it you will be complaining about e-cigs like the rest of us and loving it!
All the best,

Hey Geeker;

When I started vaping over two months ago, I had 27 packs of analogs in my dresser drawer.

Today, I have 27 packs of analogs in my dresser drawer.

I'm thinking of selling them to the neighbors. I hate em, but that's a lot of money to just throw away.

You'll still get an occasional craving. After a few days or weeks you'll buy one or bum one and light it up and wonder how you could have ever thought they tasted good.

I've got half a pack sitting on top my fridge. Been there for about 3 weeks now. I learned from other times quitting that the panic of not having any is harder to resist than just having them and not smoking them.

The last few days I've been thinking about trying one but I know I won't like it. So I chain vape for a while and wait for the urge to pass.

Even so, some people take a while to make the transition. The point it is to think of all the cigarettes you aren't smoking as opposed to the ones you still do. If you go from 20 a day to 18, you are still ahead of the game.

Good luck to you!!

Hell, I was rolling my own cigarettes with a machine until last Saturday evening. All that gear and such is still just sitting there on my rolling table.

I agree with all here, though. Sad feeling.
Losing a friend I've had for almost 30 years.

I'm not quitting smoking to actually quit smoking, though. I'm quitting smoking because of SCHIP.

They will get NO more tax dollars from ME.

When I started a while ago, I knew before it came I could not have any after I started using the E-Cig. To me its like anything else, If I have coke and pepsi, im drinking coke. if for no other reason its because im use to it. When I switched to only diet sodas about 15 years ago, it was hard at first and now I know I dont even like regular soda(I got a free case of pepsi throwback a few weeks ago for every 6 2 liter bottles I bought.) I still have 3 cases of that stuff with only one missing. I smoked all my cigarettes when my ecig came, then switched to the ecig.

Geeker - don't panic....that's what I did....I simply refused to buy any more ciggs...my last official cig was on Friday night. I've been an entire weekend on only my vapor....and I love it. When I have a craving for a regular cig, I just take out my 901, take a real deep draw, and tell myself: this is what I want....this is what I have.

So far, none of the cravings have been unindurable....you'll make it!!!

I hope you have a couple extra atomizers. If you only have one, and it goes cold, you'll be heading to the corner store for a pack of ciggies. We don't want that to happen.

Geeker,

I thought the same way you do, and that's probably why my previous quit attempts were never successful. I was too attached to smoking. I was a closet smoker, so anytime I was alone was a clear trigger to light up. The e-cig has allowed me to gradually move away from some of those habits while enjoying a healthy alternative. I still have a pack in its hiding place in the garage and one under the car seat. Both have been untouched for over a month. You can do it!

Be sure to put away all your smoking gear. (Ashtrays, lighters, etc.) Outta sight outta mind.

Good luck! We're all here if you need support.

You actually know where your ashtrays and lighters are? We had a smoking friend a few weeks back and my sife asked me where to find an ashtray. I had no idea; I do not use them any more.

I will be 3 months analog free on the 10th.....about 3 weeks ago, I happened to find an unopened pack of smokes in my car....my only thought was "ewwww, analogs!" and I tossed them in the trash.

I have ZERO desire for a cancer stick.....Stick with it, guys.....it's great to be analog free!
