I wrap it on the device and just pull harder to get it tighter, with the fat wicks you can pull quite hard and not kink the wick. I am using 100mm wick 400 mesh (still waiting for my 500) 4 wraps of Kanthal A1 28awg and getting about 0.8- 0.9 ohms.

that is exactly what I got on mine. Need to find some 30g to try as I have a megaton of 32 and now have 28g as well.

BJ,, My lines are in hibernation at the moment, well I do have one set up with Silica running in the tank up to the coil wick with cotton around the silica at the coil,,, but the lines just dont compare to some of the newer gear

Again I differ on that with you. I am trying to tune the engine (wick/coil) really doesn't matter what body I put the engine in, it should work better in all genesis. As Dan said when he modded the first vivi genesis style, he said as far as performance, it was as good as any he had made. I bought a lot of vivis to mod. Just can't get into drilling expensive mods for wick testing. I have no problem with collecting:), hell at one time I had 12 cars and 42 horses.:)

anyone notice the price of the mesh just went up? It said they were selling so much, that instead of the scrappy ends, they were now selling from the industrial rolls.

I wonder what happened? :)

one other question. for those using 28g and 30g. How do you get six wraps or more on the mesh? I noticed when I tried the 28g that because it is so thick, that wrapping it on the device was much more difficult. Do you wrap it off the device and then put it back on?

On the ZAU I found coiling very difficult and almost ruined the wick. The DID wick could probably handle it better - I stuck a needle through mine to stabilize it, and had no problems.

I know you will order the 100 ft anyway :) - but if you want to try it today I can grab a foot of 30 and bring it to work if you're in town and want to come get it.

First of all BJ, what a fantastic thread. Just finished reading it all and what a huge advancement you have made. I'm pretty new to SS mesh and haven't been a fan of tilting. Although I have some #500 mesh on the way all I had lying around was some #325. From your earlier posts on the possibility of rolling on the bias I thought I'd give it a try as you hadn't gone ahead with the tests. I rolled a 70mm wick from the #325 and jammed it into my Orion V2.1 which I think has a 2.5mm hole. I don't have any VV devices as I usually use a kick. However it doesn't fit in the Orion so I started with a 5 wrap coil from 32awg on a semi charged 18650 at about 3.7v. As the Orion is a hybrid I can't seem to get an accurate measure of the ohm's from the unit (can't be bothered removing and testing the wire), but I'm guessing the wattage would be between 7-8. I'm using 50/50 PG/VG. As you can see in the video below, capillary action is in effect. Not huge amounts of vapor, hence I've come down to 4 wraps since, but you can see that with the Mod standing vertically, although it can't keep up completely, capillary action is functioning. The top coil starts to get red hot after a little while, but after a break of 5 seconds or so it's soaked again. By the third heating it really sucks up some juice. The wick is absolutely jammed into the wick hole and I'm vaping it at an angle of around 5 o'clock and it's keeping up with me. So your thoughts on the possibility of creating smaller holes in the mesh due to rolling on the bias has worked. Not as effective as the #500 no doubt, but it's so much nicer than having to rely on gravity. I have some 28awg and 30awg on the way too to get the wattage up in my hybrids that don't fit the kick. Many thank you's for all your hard work, and to everyone else that has contributed to this wonderful thread.

Great results on the bias 325, couldn't find where I put the #325 since it had been so long that a quit using it. You are reallygoing to like the #500.

On the thought that mwa has his Lines on hiatus do to comparatively lacklustre performance...this raises something that I give thought too more often than not...I think it's agreed that the Line, like any other bottom tank Genny is a bucket of juice that you suspend a mesh wick in with a couple terminal posts to power a coil that is wrapped around the wick...nothing beyond the pale there...where it diverts is the volume of the chamber in which the vape is produced...the Line has a pretty small volume when say compared to the SGV3 say...when I built my Quigsworth Hybrid I experimented with chamber volumes and air holes a lot (I mean a lot ) trying to find the sweet spot of heat of vape, air flow and draw...tomorrow morning I get to play with my ZAG, which according to some, has a very airy, coolish vape when built as designed (little girly insulator in place and by extension a little girly wick)...my point is...isn't going to the big guns fat wicks and super LR on these big vape chamber devices kinda 6 of one/half dozen of the other when compared to a smaller wick/1.7ish LR in a small vape chamber Line?

I'm not trying to stir it up, really, this is something I'd really like some opinion on...

I just cant agree all Genesis units are a like BJ43,, and the cheaper ones have just never worked as well for me,, heck I have owned just about all of them over the years and just now the most recent ones I have finally liked, Zen, Cobra especially,,, to me it does make a difference,,, especially trying to mod a non Genesis into a Genesis compared to a high quality Genesis like Zen or Cobra. To each there own but this is what I find,,, why even bother with moding a VIVI into a Genesis, if your going to want a high quality Genesis Vape just buy the real deal and have the nicer Gear is how I roll,,, I have nothing against modding of course but trying to turn a none Genesis into a Genesis is like fitting a square peg into a round hole,, anyone who owns a Zen or Cobra will agree with this I think too. You should also be careful with the heat your vaping at with the plastic used on some of those cheaper tanks, it can slowly degrade by melting very lightly and you wont even see it until its to late.

Rip that insulator right out of that Zag like others and I did,,, we also got the smaller air hole top caps which make it nicer too on the Z-Atty-Pro's these are a nice unit , I think you will like this Quigs.

Now your going to make me build a dual wick, dual coil with different wick diameter and coil on the same unit and independent posts with dual voltage to have equal watts off each.:)

PS and a toggle switch to test each independently and both on.

Not even going to worry about the existing air hole, I mean I'll try it but I've got my JB Weld on me, I'll just seal up the air hole and take my micro drills to it once cured and tweak to taste...I'm really picky when it comes to draw...

As far as the insulator goes...I don't know, I really like my new "Hello Kitty" cell phone skin...chicks dig me cause I roll like that...

Pfft, don't think I didn't think about it ...currently I've got the SMOK Mega baby bottle DT jammed into my vape chamber...that big chunk of rubber taking up volume in my chamber seemed to change it from a good device to a great device...which is why I asked...seems there's no shortage of talk re: wicking/coils and such and trying to find some common ground...however when we're all using different devices with different chamber volumes...I mean, that has to be a consideration...or maybe not???
