I'm no expert on RA's by any means but I prefer to test on something like a Buzz Pro that has built in short protection. When I get a short on my BP it just won't fire. I don't know what would happen with an ego.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question but the number of wraps has nothing to do with getting the desired thickness of the wick. Can you explain what you mean?

When you take a flat sheet of mesh, then roll it up before oxidizing it. How many rolls should I do or how big should the piece of mesh be?

The number of rolls isn't important. It's the length and width of the mesh that you want to know. I've never done this on a vivi nova so I can't give you the dimensions. The thickness of the wick will depend on the length of the mesh and how hard/tight you roll it. For a vivi nova you'll want a pretty skinny wick to fit in those grooves. Maybe somebody that has done this before can give you dimensions but it's usually trial and error. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Edit: You could use the silica wick that's in the tank to figure out the length of the mesh. You'd want your mesh the same length as the silica wick. Then take a guess at the width from the video.

I bought one of those ShortStop auto-resetting fuses for $15
It will work in most mods that take an 18mm battery - The ShortStop disc is 17mm diameter

I wish you luck, for reason I cannot get it. I've tried probably 15 times and the get the same result. Top coil glowing red and hotspot all the way down the tail. This is supposed to be one of the easiest rebuilds lol. My future is not looking good right now...

The million dallar question, I like the DID 3.5mm, allows for flexibility and experimentation.
I modded my AGA-T to 3.2mm with a 3/4 way up from underneath 3.5 mm countersink, and polished of Knurnling, bore out for dual wick etc etc, love to experiment LOL

My Dual wick setup AGA-t, Polished knurling,spring loaded posostive post with 6mm ss washers,drilled out 3.2mm on top wickhole, drilled 3/4 way up from underneath 3.5mm countersink, extra 0.8mm airhole drilled for second wick, 5/4 30g kanthal on each wick (Total Ohms 0.8Ohms), ss hex head m3 ground screws (One drilled out to 1mm for fill hole.) removed cap oring ( all lines up, not needed).
Just playin with the paps, will probably recoil to higher Ohms for the Zmax in dual 18350mode

majekh, what size Cobra you have?

I have been using that set up on a 5ml Cobra and have not made any adjustments to it. I run 3-4 ml's of juice through it every day and the coils are not showing much wear. As long as I resist the temptation to fiddle around with it, I'm curious as to how long it will last.

My iTaste VV was only around £28, and I've been hammering it on coils of 1.4 to 1.8 Ohms for a few weeks now without any issue, and the majority of coils and SS wicks I've built have been utterly plagued with shorts - it just shuts the iTaste down for a couple of seconds when it shorts.

Also my ego based h/m 'passthrough' (ego with dead batt. ripped out but circuit and switch left on board, powered from a small switch mode PSU) just won't fire/shuts off if the coil goes much below 2 Ohms, and my Smoktech E-Power is about the same with anything below 1.6-ish Ohms, or a short circuit - just shuts down (plus the battery in it has its own SS protection) - so really it seems they're short circuit proof too.

Anyone actually 'killed' a batery from a shorting coil and SS wick atty?

Outstanding job of Modding the AGA-T Studiovap. Really impressed with both the work you did polishing off the knurl and finishing the wick holes, as well as the factory machining. DC wick set up looks sweet!

One thing inquiring minds want to know. How does it vape? Does the top cap have a second hole to align with the opposing wick?
