Dish soap, soft-soap hand soap, hard soap (ivory, etc) - any will do, especially with a good rinse afterward. But I would lean towards dish soap since it shouldn't leave and residue (moisturizers, etc) behind. Dish soap is designed to wash things that will be used for food.

The Prodigy works GREAT with carts but only if you use a good filler material. The blue filter stuff looks like it works well. Personally, I use PTB with great success.

I'll say that my Protege has never performed better than it is right now. My Prodigy too for that matter. If you feed the 510 atomizer properly it really rewards you. Problem is, I'm going though more juice per day now. I may have to lower the nic content.

Hey Kevin,
If saw in my original post I mentioned that I ended up getting the V material cause they didnt haqve the U at the store I went to. Well today I went out and got the U and have been trying it as well but my carts just totally leak out FAST and floods my atomizer wasting juice. The V material works incredibly awesome and no leakage at all. Give it a shot and let me know what you think if possible.
BTW - You will notice that the V material comes with a blue top and white bottom but all you have to do is pull them apart which is simple and you can use both. The V material is closer to poly fill in texture but less frayed ends where the U has much bigger type holey type of structure to it. Anyway these are just my thoughts.

This group of threads in the cart modders forum seem to be evolving more each day. It may take a lot of reading to determine which mod is right for you or which ever one works the best. But I am still using the original RSP plug mod and still love it. They all seem to have the basic theme of a liquid reservior and a plug on top. They just have found many different ways to achieve the same goal.

I'm just bumping this back to the top to reinforce A2D's original sentiment.

This last week has been the best and most consistent week of 510 vaping that I have ever had. Massive vapor. Consistent from refill to refill. New life from what I thought were dead or dying attys.. and the kind of hassle-free performance that we thought we should be getting.

I would think that anybody who has a 3-piece design... mods included... would be very interested and pleased with the results of these types of cart mods.

I've noticed that using pure PG nic juice is much thinner than the juice I mix up. I use about 30% VG in my juices and they work just perfect. The plug will have to be a little tighter to hold the pure PG stuff. I'm loving to vape the cart dry and have every hit as good as the first one.

Lotus the viscosity of the juice has a big effect on whether the plug will wick well and whether it will leak. I use custom mixed liquid which contains about 30% VG. For me the OP measurements worked. When I tried commercial mixed pure PG liquid I had leaks and had to adjust the size of the plug, making it more dense and it worked to stop the leaking. So experiment with the dimensions of the plug material to see if you can achieve the same results. Making the plug larger will mean it has to be compressed more to fit thus making the holes in the plug smaller.

Gosh, I read this thread and the other one and loved the straw idea. I tried it with Fluval and it was okay. I went to get some takeout Japanese food last night and had to kill a few minutes. Instead of remembering that I was only a couple of blocks from Walgreen's (for BP's), I went and got ice cream from the grocery store. Now, how stupid is that?

Your observations about the fluid viscosity are spot-on IMHO. I have experienced the exact same thing, and had to make some minor adjustments to my "mod" to accommodate.

I don't use the straw and BP system. Instead I'm a "spring and blue pad" guy. I have my reasons. Anyway, my daily vape is ECOpure based... which is a fairly viscous VG liquid. If I get my cartridge set up perfectly for the ECOpure, thinner, watery PG based liquids will run right through it.. flooding the atty.

For the PG and thinner liquids, I have a cart set up with a spring that is about 1mm longer (vertical springs). That causes the pad to be compressed a bit more when it contacts the bridge, and that closes up the pores in the pad.... And then it works wonderfully for the less viscous liquids.

I wish I had found the "one size fits all solution"... but sadly that hasn't come my way yet. So, for the time being, I just have two different cart varieties... "thick and thin".

P.S. Of course.. the other alternative is to either "thicken up" my PG liquids, or "thin out" my ECOpure. That works equally as well.

This is what I do and find it to be highly effective. Once you find the correct viscosity for your atomizer you just need to match this viscosity on your other juices. Put a drop of each on a mirror and compared the speed and distance that each drop runs. Thicken with VG, thin with vodka/PGA/water, until the new juice is the appropriate viscosity.

EcoPure is thinner than regular VG - they add water to thin it so it's closer to PG viscosity.

Right on, you know the original stock cartridge material was designed to work with a specific viscosity liquid and an average users draw habits. Any variations to the liquid or the draw rate will change how well the wick will keep up with demand. This means that the original stock batteries will perform as designed for an average user. When we step up performance of the battery or demand more than average vapor the stock filler can't keep up with the demand put on the cart by the increased atomizer power.

This is the reason why PV users are now looking to cart mods to return the performance balance on the PV. The China manufacturers have yet to recognize this need.
