A Humble Plea to the ECF Community

I see ECF as a family.
Sometimes those families are dysfunctional.
Most all of us has that relative that we just really don't want to see but we have to.

I'm amazed and impressed that people can have disagreements one day, but come together on a different thread another day.

I have one person ignored. If I had not ignored this so and so, I would have been banned from ECF for life. Ms. Robino1 would have long ago run out of patience with me.

Somehow my daughter got his fortune today.

I must say it's GoodNews seeing this thread gaining traction.

I try to be polite and courteous but also know I don't always succeed but this is a forum open to all so now and then your going to get the argumentative type passing by and many of us have strong beliefs and principles in relation to vaping sometimes passion posts rather then the brain. I like knowing people disagree with me and what I believe as long as they do likewise we can agree to disagree I also have no problem with people who can articulate their viewpoint but can be a bit snarky with those who can't or throw up silly arguments. We are people throughout history we haven't managed to get large groups of people together peacefully and were still a way away from that.

I get along with myself fine. It's when I step out the door the trouble starts. I used to think people didn't like me because I smoked but I am beginning to wonder if maybe there is something wrong with them.

The way I approach what I type and post: I type it, read it. I put myself in the other persons shoes and pretend that I am having those words directed at me. Would I be hurt by those words?

I truly try to never say "you".

Unfortunately, we cannot read every single post that gets put on the forum. That would be impossible.

When things get reported, we do investigate. Sometimes people bait others into stating something that shouldn't have been said. Then hit the report button. Sometimes people respond to things they have reported and things escalate.

I really like when things are so blatant that there is no second guessing how to proceed. Most things are just judgement calls.

We are human, we make mistakes but we do the best we know how.

I guess what I'm trying to say, we need to remember that there is a person on the other side of the screen. Everything that gets typed will probably be read by the person that someone may be talking about.

I've noticed this too. There seems to be a lot of animosity here towards people that use mech mods and cloud chase these days.

and conversely, toward people who use cig-a-likes, or even over the counter cigalikes, starter type ego kits, single coil clearos, and even stuff from BT.

I post about how it drives me nuts all the time, so glad you are saying it, too.

The whole POINT of vaping is to get off combustibles. I really don't care what brand or whatever people use. When I joined in 2012, the people who helped me generally wanted to save my life in a sense. They cared about my health and safety.

You are obviously a very nice person and an excellent moderator and most people will certainly benefit from your direction. I have been here for a long time and you know that I am just kidding around a lot of the time even though I have received valuable advice and endless hours of distraction.

It's all about cutting down and even better, quitting smoking. Whatever works for you, be it a cigalike or the latest and greatest in vaping gear, is all that matters. It's not a contest as to who has the more sophisticated equipment, it's about getting away from the nasty weed.

i started vaping a year ago with an e go as i didnt know one end to the other now i still have an ego a bit more girlish which i love i dont even what cloud chasing is anyway my ego is great and it does the job for me which is better then spending shed loads of money on cloud burning

The Forum is at least as strong a smoking cessation mechanism as the actual devices. It's our non-smoking area. It welcomes (almost) everyone!
