At 53 it may be time to start looking at homes now. Never too early. Maybe you can use your computer to help!

I know it is nice that Eula comes in every night and turns off the light.

Bless her, and you and everyone!

(Except that guy out west - I watched Dr Strangelove on TMN the other night and was not amused.)

(Actually you should start up a home for us seniors who just want to vape and be looked after.)

Big $$$$

(The movie was hilarious)

Homes? We just bought a home in 2011... our very first, in fact. Thank you WallSt and banking industry, for making credit and houses so affordable for poor people! :D

Lucky you...my house is worth maybe half of what it used to be worth b4 the big crash.
A friend who was a telemarketer for the biggest scam preceding the housing crash actually died of grief
for having helped rip off so many investors.

So now I'm trying to sell this place and get another closer to my boy's school but
since so many people defaulted on home loans
I'm $45,000 short for what I want
and even though my credit fica is around 825
I'm having a hard time getting the forty five grand loan
because I'm too old for their 30 year loans.
I wanna buy before putting this up for sale so I don't
have to deal with strangers walking around while we live here
but I'm going to have to do some creative financing
or something...

But I'm glad y'all got Blessed out of the deal
Regards,
Hazy:2cool:

That kind are the only ones I ignore... the ones that, if i said what I really thought of them, I'd get banned. I don't wanna get banned, so it's best if I don't read their posts at all. Unfortunately, a couple of them are quite active, and everyone replies to them, so I end up having to see those tiresome posts anyway. :grr:

Likewise.

And to get this back on track

Hi ECF,

I've been a member here on ECF for nearly 4 years now, and one thing that keeps me coming back is the positive atmosphere and sense of community. There are many helpful, knowledgeable, and kind people here that go above and beyond when it comes to helping out fellow vapers, and for this I am extremely grateful. Unfortunately, for some time now I've noticed an increasing trend of being judgmental and condescending towards other people's vaping style and preferences.

Whether vaping with an eGo battery at 7 watts or a .2 ohm build on a 150 watt box, we are all still vapers. We all made an extremely positive change from smoking cigarettes (well, most of us) to the fun and enjoyable world of vaping, but it seems some people are forgetting our common interest and accomplishment and instead focus on the differences, and use those differences to deride others.

Not everybody needs a high-powered device, plenty of people are perfectly happy with a more moderate vape and they aren't any less of a "real vaper" than those with high power or high-end setups. Alternatively, not everyone is satisfied vaping at lower power levels or with cheaper gear, and it does not make someone an immature showoff because they seek out higher performance and/or higher end equipment.

I have seen more examples than I can even begin to remember of thinly veiled insults aimed at people looking for bigger clouds or more power, just as I have seen plenty of useless suggestions when people pressure someone into a piece of equipment that they have made perfectly clear they have no interest in.

So I make a humble request of my fellow vapers here on ECF:

Please show respect towards the vaping style/preference of others.

Thanks for your time :)

I believe that positive friendly support is the third piece of the puzzle when switching from smoking to Vaping. Good gear, good juice, good support network. As far as the gear and the juice go, if it works for you, then it works!

And it's hard to overestimate the importance of the support network, particularly for something as challenging as vaping! This forum does a tremendous job, with support both for physical issues -- making the things work right, getting the right juice -- as well as the intangibles, like the cravings and other withdrawal issues that most of us suffer or have suffered from time to time. I'm quite certain that without ECF, I'd never have been able to make this work for me. :thumb:

Thanks UncleChuck, for the message and spirit of the original post that started this thread. Despite being what I'd consider an "intermediate" vaper myself I do sometimes worry that I might be judged in a place like this for not being a dripper or a rebuilder. I still enjoy the world of vaping just as much as anyone... I like experimenting with new gear but I also just like the simplicity of popular tanks with mini box mods. I like the "hobby" side of collecting gear as I learn/try more stuff too, but what's most important is the sense of community I feel with other vapers especially those who started for the same reason as I did - to get away from tobacco cigarettes. There's a lot of positivity to be found in all this!

Not a dripper here. Only a rebuilder when I absolutely have to be ;)

I'm afraid I'm going to have to ignore everything you said since you did not specifically state you only vape a Mutation X V3 at 0.4 Ohms, on a Stingray X Mech Mod. I mean, if you don't vape exactly as I say, how can I take you seriously?

I echo your closing plea, UncleChuck. It seems that we are slowly dividing ourselves into two camps; the plain-Jane vapers. and the hobbyists. It's no longer OK to vape a simple cig-a-like. If you don't use the latest and greatest gizmo out there, you are somehow open to criticism. The different camps are developing "holier-than-though" attitudes that only serve to divide us more.

I keep foremost the reason I vape. I never waver from the conviction that vaping is a healthier alternative to deadly smoking, and that every breath I take is one less breath I have remaining. Those who enjoy giving put-downs ought to remember why "they" started vaping ... chances are it had nothing to do with a hobby.

+1 on that. I'll never forget where I started - a simple iTaste vv3 pen style with a basic EVOD tank, and very fortunately some excellent juice. Will never forget the first few vapes from it and the feeling of "Holy crap! This might actually work! I might actually succeed at quitting tobacco with this!". I was basically in shock when I reached 30 days without a smoke, and I still have that original bat / tank from one year ago.

And I gotta say - though I've only been here a short time the experience and replies have been largely positive and most carry the message of "use what works for you and what you're happy with". I dig that mentality and will remember to always pass it on if ever asked.

Thanks for this post! Honestly I feel a bit intimidated to ask a question afraid I will get treated not so nicely. it happened to a point today and I let it roll of my back but I felt so stupid I didn't want to ask another question I had...

That makes me sad :(
Truly it does.

Is this something you feel while in the Newcomers forum? I thought people behaved well in there, but maybe it'd be good to have a safe place outside of there.

If you feel comfortable with a certain person perhaps PM them? I know I'd answer any question if asked.

That is most unfortunate, please check your post after another 12 hours. I would put money two things: 1. Someone here told the obnoxious poster to go [self-regulation] and 2. others have filled in the gap with respectful, worthy answers.

I have to admit when I see youtube videos of people blowing out humungous clouds, I think, "poser!". I get the psychological thing of replicating smoke, but when they have competitions I cringe

    here's an example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oIo_nKOGlQ I think it's a bit sad if I'm being frank

sorry if I've offended anyone, just MHO
