I didn't find those symptoms according to PG yet; two days ago, I vaped the first time, no nic, because I just want to break my habit it's not about Nicotine. I felt a little bit "dizzy" immediately after my first puff. I've vaped for 30 minutes with my new screwdriver and some LorAnn Flavorings. These "dizziness" is still there, two days later. I slept about 12 hours the last days and I feel like not being myself. Beside this, I've no one of the symptoms which are mentioned and credited to allergic reactions to PG.
I think that vaping seems not to work for me and I really hope that this symptom will go away within the next week. Afterall I guess it is all about the PG and I wonder if some other people have observed these problems, too.
I will have to look for other ways fighting my habit. Probably some essential oils:).

WARNING

There may still be a trace of nicotine in the so called "no nic" juices. If you're just wanting a smoking simulation to trick your brain, then there's really no need to inhale the PG. It would be better to just take a deep breath of air first, then take a draw from the e-cig, then exhale. If you think the PG is causing dizziness, then either switch to a VG based juice, or stop using the e-cig device. VG is a little more nature friendly to some users. You can also cut the PG solutions down with VG.

One other tip I find useful... before using a new atomizer, make sure you rinse it a little with the juice you're going to use... While the atomizer is connected to the battery, drip a few drops directly onto the atomizer bridge, put an empty mouthpiece on the atomizer, activate and suck the e-cig but DO NOT inhale, blow out the fog from your mouth, repeat 3 to 5 times. Re-assemble your cartridge as it should be, add one more drop of juice to the atomizer to prime it, put it all back to together and you'll be good to go. This process washes out that nasty primer they use at the factory for testing and conditioning of the atomizer, which can also cause a little dizziness. Think of it as "sucking the poison out of the snake bite" so to speak. I wish somebody would start putting better instructions in the starter kits for newbies.

There's several posts around here for stuff like this. The search feature can be very helpful. This forum is like the best instruction manual you can find for e-cigs. It has helped me out a great deal. Special thanks to all who have contributed to this forum. Keep up the great work!

Thank you very much for your answer.
I am a pipe smoker, so I'm just a "puffer" so to speak. Therefore I just have inhalated a bit from that smoke I exhaled before. So the absorption is just from the oral contact with the vaper.
I've cleaned the atomizer before using (to make sure, there is not as much primer fluid in it) and have placed one drop of liquid on the atomizer. I've made my own liquid, with 80% of PG (from a pharmacy) and some LorAnn flavors which are good for vaping (according to the excellent guide some people have made in this forum).
So from my perspective the only problem could be the pharmacy where I bought the PG. But I've make sure that it is USP PG respectively Eu.Ph. which they call it in europe. So I don't think that this is the problem. It all comes down to an allergic reaction. I've did much research the last weeks about PG. I'm pretty sure about the safety of PG, beside irritation. No it looks like I am allergic - worst case.
And I'm not as sure about glycerine. Glycerine, whether it is vegetable or sythetic, reacts to Acrolein when you heat it up to over 200° Celsius. Therefore I would think this is too dangerous. I have to look out for another alternative; maybe PEG. Or I will really just do some aroma therapy things, even if they are not that kewl:lol:

P.S.: Sorry, my english is pretty bad. I hope it is quite understandable:)

Many use Glycerine as an alternative to the PG. You can even buy "juice" with glycerine instead of PG from many companys.. It never gets that high as far as temperature from what I can see, since I use it myself, and at times make my own juice using glycerine and Loannn or Bickford flavors...

Now that you've mentioned it. I think I'll just stay with PG. So far it still shows to be the safest non-hazardous solution to use. Other than a mild respiratory irritation, it's not much of a problem for me. It would be my first choice.

VG would be my second choice, if I had to find a substitute. But I wouldn't want to use straight VG. Maybe a 80% PG/20% VG mix without cutting the nicotine too much. Just like all glycerins there is a concern for acroleins when you heat it up. Afterall, it was one of the 4,000+ reasons I quit smoking in the first place.

PEG is not an option for me. You might as well smoke an analog. Unless you're just craving that daily dose of carbowax vapors... LOL... I would suggest staying away from it. Even if it's just PEG 400, I still wouldn't trust it.

Sooo, for you, if it's no PG, or no VG, and no PEG... then I guess you're S.O.L. Looks like aroma therapy for you. Good Luck with that.

My Nicotine History...
smoking
chewing
dipping
snorting
OTC nicotine replacement therapies (gum, patches, inhalers, etc.)
dissolvable hard snuff ciglets
... and now
[drum roll please]
ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE VAPING!
[applause]

I admit it. I'm just a nicotine addict (diamond member)

What's next? Nicotine Injections? Ha Ha Ha... Might have to mod one of those nifty insulin injectors and get a permanent IV port for it. Or get a cyborg implant for an auto-drip intravenous nicotine system. Just plug me in and charge my battery each night. Who's got the juice for that?... LOL.

If you just quit using nicotine, this could very well be nicotine withdrawl.

With a brand new atty, blow out all the primer. I have even started rinsing them with water (reverse osmosis or distilled) because the primer is so bad tasting. Then I set it to drain and dry before use. Then prime according to which atty you are using, I use a 901 and prime with 3 drops, and I prime a 801 with 4-5, depends on if it's high bridge or not.

Do not use any flavoring that is not soluble in water or is an oil. It will kill your atty.

Good luck with it!

Happy Merry!

LOL, Basic! I was just wondering aloud last night why they don't make a nicotine pill. My brain won't work without it. Seems a much better way to regulate things than all the other mind altering meds they have out there advertised on tv!

Well now I don't feel alone... I just cannot function without nicotine.. Been a heavy smoker since 1977/1978 and have been vaping this past year.. I was fine for months, but have been craving an analog for the past month, so I've been having a ciggie here and there now..

Goddess Forbid they would come out with a nicotine pill, the last thing my doctor would do is to give me a perscription.. Thing is that a pill would come in handy if you could pop one to cut the nicotine crave and also vape for the motion of smoking... This scenario would be great, but I think I'd be using the pill like Pez, and popping them all the time...

I don't know.. Seems as if some of us just cannot function without nicotine, and with the studies saying that nicotine is as safe as cafine, I don't see how there is a fight about it.. I mean, when the medical association and the FDA went off on coffee drinkers like they do with those who use nicotine, all hell would break loose

Personally, I do not believe in the "second-hand" smoking stuff, nor do I believe in all the garbage the lung association is trying to claim saying that vaping is dangerous too.. I mean we can't seem to do anything in this country.. When are those who have nothing to do with our rights mind their own business?? My vaping isn't hurting anyone, yet there are those who "think" they can tell me/us what to do....

I still feel like i got somethin to cough up, but it just seems like i cant ever get it out.
anybody else have that problem? i quit smokin for about a month and a half now.

Hi Happy,

I did that for about a week or two.. I figured it was all the crud in my lungs from smoking so much and for so long..

What helped was to boil some water.. Pour it in a bowl with a scoop Vic's Vapor Rub in it.. Put your head over the bowl with a towel covering the bowl and your head... Afew afew times of this it helped... Doing this got some of the stuff out of your lings faster...

Hi WarrLord,

Now that's something... Wonder if that's a side-effect or an allergy...

Oh!!!!!!!!! With Happy Vapor, they had the gunk comming out of their chest/lungs.. Maybe you have alot of the gunk in your sinus'?? Try the VaproRub/bowl stuff but breathe in and out with your nose.. Also get some Bennedryll or some cold/allergy meds at the drug store and see if that helps.. When I started vaping my sinus' dripped non-stop (I do have allergys but they weren't that troublesome) and I gave up.. Did these things too.. It does help..

Try it, wouldn't hurt....

Yep, sounds like the ex-smokers aftermath cough. Mine finally turned loose, but when it did I coughed up some bloody phlegm. Not much, not more than the size of a half-dollar coin with a slight pale red tint to it. It scared the crap out of me, so I went to the emergency room. I had to take a breathing treatment and was put on an albuterol inhaler for roughly 90 days. It was a moderately painful process as I had a raw airway for awhile due to all of the coughing and irritation. The treatment worked and it all cleared up without any setbacks. They took image scans before and after treatment, and they couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. It was as if I never smoked at all. I used to smoke Marlboro Menthol Full Flavor for 25 years (almost 2 packs per day). All that happened about 2 years ago.

It's amazing what the human body can do. I know the body has the power to heal itself rather quickly, but it can't do that while you continuously damage it with toxins at an overwhelming rate (that includes the FDA approved toxins in our food and water). The human body has the ability to detox itself, but you have to do YOUR part too. Limit your red meats and fried foods, eat lots of raw vegetables, drink plenty of clean water, and exercise (get the blood pumping to circulate those nutrients everywhere possible). Do it right and you'll notice your body doing some magical repair work.

Also, it doesn't hurt to create your own detox program. Google, "detox the body naturally", and get some ideas. Do not... I repeat... DO NOT join some lame membership program. Some people will tell you anything just to get your money. Remember, your body already has the ability to detoxify itself. All your looking for is some extra stimulation of your bodily functions. You can use natural vapors, herbs, minerals, vitamins, enemas, and breathing exercises (sorry, vaping doesn't count... lol).

Anybody else got anything to add? This is a good subject.

Try drinking more water. PG can dehydrate you and make it feel like there's something in your throat. Smoking did that to me sometimes, and my first few weeks with PG I had that feeling. Then when I started using VG to see if my fibromyalgia would ease up, I was really hoarse for a couple of weeks, now, no problems. If I don't drink enough water, I get a bit of a sore throat by evening.

I do. My dad smoked. My mom has COPD and emphysema and never smoked a cig in her life. Dad died of heart failure, but they found lung cancer on autopsy. Mom was exposed to about 2 packs a day of second hand smoke for at least 40 years.
