the first couple of days it made me have to pee really really bad, alot. lol
Great thread. I just started e-smoking yesterday, and already am noticing some of these symptoms. i.e. Dry throat, muscle aches (though this could be because of some strenuous gardening I did 2 days ago), mild headache. I also seem to be sneezing a lot, which could just be hayfever, but it seems to happen more when vaping. Did anyone else experience bouts of sneezing and sniffling when they first started out?
I can't say I had any sneezing but I think I remember that smoking kills some of the hair inside your nose. maybe because these are growing back, they are causing you to sneeze.
Try drinking more water. PG can dehydrate you and make it feel like there's something in your throat. Smoking did that to me sometimes, and my first few weeks with PG I had that feeling. Then when I started using VG to see if my fibromyalgia would ease up, I was really hoarse for a couple of weeks, now, no problems. If I don't drink enough water, I get a bit of a sore throat by evening.
I do. My dad smoked. My mom has COPD and emphysema and never smoked a cig in her life. Dad died of heart failure, but they found lung cancer on autopsy. Mom was exposed to about 2 packs a day of second hand smoke for at least 40 years.
I didn't find those symptoms according to PG yet; two days ago, I vaped the first time, no nic, because I just want to break my habit it's not about Nicotine. I felt a little bit "dizzy" immediately after my first puff. I've vaped for 30 minutes with my new screwdriver and some LorAnn Flavorings. These "dizziness" is still there, two days later. I slept about 12 hours the last days and I feel like not being myself. Beside this, I've no one of the symptoms which are mentioned and credited to allergic reactions to PG.
I think that vaping seems not to work for me and I really hope that this symptom will go away within the next week. Afterall I guess it is all about the PG and I wonder if some other people have observed these problems, too.
I will have to look for other ways fighting my habit. Probably some essential oils.
Yep, sounds like the ex-smokers aftermath cough. Mine finally turned loose, but when it did I coughed up some bloody phlegm. Not much, not more than the size of a half-dollar coin with a slight pale red tint to it.
Symptoms after the first 2 days
Depression - Only slightly, I'm usually 90% of the time a happy guy, now it seems like its sitting at around 50%. Not really any reason for it either.
[snip] What I did encounter was panic attack, major depression, fatigue, increased urination, very dry skin, acne, memory loss, cognitive inabilities (lose train of thought or learning curve got REAL BIG).
So, Bogalu, yes I am experiencing or experienced depression and increased agitation. I have read several threads regarding MAOI's (antidepressants) being present in analogs, therefore withdrawals from not only nicotine (lower dosages due to vaping not giving as much nic) AND withdrawals from antidepressants wreaked havoc on me the past couple of months - without my being entirely aware of why or it actually happening - it reached a breaking point last week.
I now know why I have been fatigued and depressed - no antidepressants. Also, why I had a panic attack - less antidepressants to counter the stimulant effect of nicotine.
Just thought I would share my symptoms.
Trying to find the sweet spot. I guess it varies, eh?
My friend who is a shrink told me that was a normal nic withdrawal symptom and it would pass.![]()
I was fine since May but then have been doing analogs this past month... 2-4 ciggies a day...
It's not that I had any typical pysical symptoms, just mainly my Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy and Poly Neiropothy pain got to be too much for me to take... Would have figured that the nicotine in the vaping would help that, and I thought that hitting the Hookah once a day would help it too so I bought one of those, but it didn't..
Along with that, I missed my mind and thought I threw it out with the butts in the ashtray..
Me thinks we are trying to do good for ourselves, but that there is alot more in analogs that no one really knows about (the other stuff in analogs, definately!!!).. To top it off, those idiots in Chantex commercials are full of ^%%&&
You are right--Chantex is BS! Here is a quote from their site:
"First results have shown that 44 percent of those using the new stop smoking drug Chantix were successful in their attempts to stop smoking after the first 12 weeks, but researchers are more interested in the longer lasting effects and are monitoring those patients closely"
I am certain there was no double blind test to verify this. I bet a sugar coated placebo would result in 44% success.
Yes, there is s**t chemical in analogs that should be banned, and the makers arrested. I also found many sites claiming that cigar and pipe smokers do NOT have the same nic problems or addictions that analog smokers suffer.
It's all in their damn mystery chemicals....
Sorry to hear of your problems, best of luck with this.
It's an evil web they weave..
Oh, how true. At 70, I can recall quitting for months or even a year. Did it myself a few times, but that was many years ago.
The tobacco companies have rigged the game, and we lose.
I think it was harder to withdrawl from all the other chemicals in analogs. When I used to smoke analogs and had that "I gotta have a smoke and i need it NOW" the intensity of "needing a smoke" was bad but now since Im vaping 24mg nic juice and the only addictive ingredient is the nic, it seem that that intense craving is soooo much less. Im so glad that im no longer a raving maniac when I need my nic.Compared to many highly experienced experts on this thread, I am a bumbling amateur. However, based upon my own research [here and many other sites plus some medical sites] your withdrawal symptoms are more from stopping the anti-depressants [MAOI] than nicotine.
If it was only nic, then the patches and pills would work wonderfully. They don't, as many can attest.
I read a few German papers [whose research seems to be ahead of us] that are beginning to think that unless you are smoking 6-8 packs a day, there is not enough nicotine in analogs to cause serious addiction. [note 'serious'. Nic is still addictive, but mild]
It is the 4000 chemicals inside the analogs that cause addiction, anti depressants, the 'feel good' sensation, and those are causing your withdrawal.
Good news! Your friend/shrink is correct. I read everywhere that it will pass as the body adjusts to this new regiment.
