Oh nice! battery cases....good idea. And I hear you on the juice. I am stuffing a couple of pre-loaded clearos in my Ego case now. Have not settled on my favorite flavor yet, so I switch up during the day.

Yes,didn't feel like having a battery short out.:D
Peachy mango is my current favorite. Cranch'i is good there too. Good luck on your adventure.

I just carry a couple spare batteries in one of these. Sometimes I bring a spare kanger or carto tank and some juice. I like having backups.
Battery Cases : 18350 Battery Case
This works well too.
Battery Cases : Nylon Battery Case w/ Carabiner

I can't over-stress the importance of using plastic battery cases to carry your spare batteries in.

A case in point, the above picture is of a failed AW IMR battery which a novice vapor was carrying loosely in his book bag. It apparently touched something metalic in the book bag and went into thermal runaway. This just happened last week and was reported in the New Members Forum.

What you see is the silver battery casing, and the entrails of the battery's contents which mushroomed out of the battery as it vented hot gases. Imagine this happening in a pants pocket or purse when in contact with keys or loose change. Always practice safe battery habits by keeping your batteries in an appropriate non-metalic container.

Well allow me to jump in on this thread. First welcome and congrats to you for posing such an interesting question--I have a feeling you'll be one of us sooner than later.

Here's my story....

I don't know where i first heard the term vaping but it piqued my interest and I began researching.
At the time, I wasn't quite interested in giving up cigarettes and then life events took me away from my researching and I found myself smoking more.

I started with a Blu e-cig which I ended up giving away. It tasted like nothing and felt like I was trying to suck a rock thru a straw.
One day I woke up needing to go to the store for cigarettes and once outside said to myself; either get some or hop on public transportation and take that 2 hr ride to the only store I was able to find that sold e-cig kits.
Sure, I could've gotten something online but that would mean also buying cigarettes and smoking until my shipment arrived.

In the course of 1 week I bought an eGo kit and an EVOD starter kit.
I probably would've been fine with both for who knows how long but then I started spending an obsessive amount of time here on ECF. It seemed I'd entered a universe I didn't know existed and I'm positive my bank account wishes I hadn't found this existence.

Just about in EVERY thread I read, someone mentioned ProVari--followed by newbies shouldn't start out with one.
So now here it is week 2 and I bought a Segelei Zmax--a variable wattage/variable voltage device.
Now my ONLY reason for buying this was due to many of us not being as slow as the newbie stigma carries--I mean how hard can ut be to adjust a device to taste?

Somewhere between week 3 and 4 I decided I wanted a mechanical mod and wanted to try out RBA/RDA's--something I initially had NO interest in doing.
Most of them looked very intimidating and with the little space to work with all I could think was my nails were too long to play with coils and I had no intention of cutting them down.
Well, I didn't cut my nails and got the Diablo (clone).

Now it's been 4 weeks of vaping, I've purchased everything under the sun and cant get rid of the feeling I should've bought a ProVari despite the nay sayers.
Part of me understands now where they were coming from in not pushing a $200 device towards new vapors.
Some stick with it; others give up and it's cheaper to give up on a $15 eGo with no regrets.

By week 5 I knew I was getting a ProVari Mini.
Some people need to use one to "get it."
Too much reading, too many youtube videos with nothing but praise for it....I got "it!"
I've said in other post, internet pics don't do it justice.

I won't say all the other devices I purchased were a waste of money--they were not.
I look at them as stepping stones and learning tools for without them I wouldn't have the knowledge I've gained in such a short amount of time.

I haven't put my mini down since the day I got it and plan on getting other colors.
I saw the purple in a B&M store--wasn't feeling it.

Wow, thanks for that story. It validates my decision. You said so many pertinent things but I had to laugh at the "rock though a straw". I felt this with my Red Dragon cigalike years ago!

Oh and glad I did not choose purple...I am more of a plum person, really ;)
