I have nothing against tobacco. Nothing. It has medicinal properties, after all. It's inhaling the smoke from burning tobacco into my lungs that gives me pause. That's why I stopped smoking cigarettes. That's the cause of smoking-related illness and death. That's the killler, not tobacco per se.

Now, make no mistake, what I'm doing with vaporizing liquid soaked in a snus pouch is not smoking. There is no fire, no combustion at all. There is the same heating of glycerine that we get when we vaporize commercial e-liquid.

What I have found is that the flavor of the snus is definitely transfered to the vapor. I did "strawberry" today and could quickly taste the strawberry flavor of the Discreet snus.

I have no precise idea how much nicotine transfers, but my feeling is that some or most of the nicotine in the snus (7.4mg) does transfer to me. If I use it up in 8 hours, that's like vaporizing 1ml or so of 8mg liquid. That's a bit low for my nicotine needs, so I make sure I use regular snus, nasal snuff and Stonewall dissolvables, too, in addition to e-smoking.

In my last two experiments, I added two drops of 48mg nicotine liquid made for do-it-yourselfers. I made sure I got nicotine!

I don't think this has been mentioned - for those who are finding that the snus pouch is too big, I'm wondering if this couldn't be another use for PTB's. There's plenty of fabric in one, so after soaking would it work to remove the right amount of tobacco from the pouch and make a smaller size with the tea bag? It could be twisted a bit at the top to hold it all together.

I just ran across this thread, and I use a 510 - no snus in the house, but I'm planning ahead in case I have trouble making it fit after I get some to try.

Of course, we all hope that we can continue to buy juice, but if it does become impossible to get, it would be a lovely irony to see RJR's profits go up when we all start buying snus. - Sort of a 'you're not getting us back' to PM. lol

The whole PTB thing is WAY TOO MUCH TROUBLE.

Here's the ticket, connect the dots:

1. The ECA says America has now purchased up to 1 million e-cigs. Of those, maybe one in four or five is still being used (no one really knows, but be realistic about how many people try one and quit it within a week).

2. There are 2 million people in America who use smokeless tobacco. Chew is bigger than snus. So the number of snus users in America numbers only in the thousands, a smokeless minority choosing from hundreds of snus products.

3. Big Tobacco's snus entries have been failures -- Camel, Marlboro, SkoalDry.

4. A new market for snus is desperately needed. WE ARE IT.

At first, there was loose snus, then pouch snus in "regular" portions (BIG). These were unsightly in use, so mini pouches were created. Now the snus could be invisible. What we need to service the many e-cig users is an even smaller pouch, one specifically designed to fit in a 901 or 510 cartridges core.

Our market is not insignificant. And if the FDA stomps on e-liquid, which it surely will, we could use a snus-soaked-in-glycerine option for a real tobacco product that satisfies.

If profits are to be had, some snus maker will market a smaller pouch. Nicotine level is easily adjusted, so we could get a controlled amount when vaporizing the liquid.

I see it coming. Connect the dots and count the profit potential.

i just tried a snus soaked in VG and i like it! i dont even remember what kind of snus it is but it's made by camel. never had snus or any other type of non-smoke tobacco, but i like the flavor of it mixed with the VG flavor while e-smoking. I was looking for a more tobacco-like flavor and it works. It's cool to have so many flavors to choose from. keeps things enjoyable. Also it seems to be a fairly cheap method which is always good.

i know it can't possibly be as bad as smoking, but i'm wondering if it is worse than vaping normal eliquids.

I think it's dirtier than vaping e-liquid, but not a problem. There are no combustion tars and other byproducts in the heated vapor, nor any carbon monoxide. I've tried this over and over, and it works. I'm hoping to hear soon that a snus maker will market smaller pouches that will fit the 901 and 510 model carts.

I'm going crazy because I can't post stuff I now know as a result of making the first post (I was recently sworn to secrecy in order to learn what lies ahead). Let's just say snus pouches for e-cigs could become a commercial reality before long. I can hardly wait. Buy a few atomizers ... and we're set for years of e-smoking.

Snus rhymes with loose (although I can't correct myself always from saying "snooze"). I had failing atomizers before I began experimenting, and they're still failing. I don't think using soaked snus pouches has hastened their demise, however, since the two in trouble are about three months old. That's 92 in human years.

...what you are not saying. There is not a munufacturer who hasn't told you that they may or may not market a snus packet that would perfectly fit a 210, 901 or 801 size cart.

If there was never an announcement of something that would never happen.. would this be a thread to not watch?!?!

No one with any kind of privileged information can publicize that information prior to its release. Yes, I got privileged information. No, I can't spell out company, date, prices, etc. Yes, it came from the idea I posted here to repackage snus in sizes that fit 901s, 510s, etc.

If it happens -- and I have no guarantee it will -- then we'll all know soon enough. I'm just happy a company is actually trying to make it happen. And I don't want to spook the good guys by tipping their hat prematurely.

Glad I am able to stay in the dark on that! Reading between the lines and upside down has always been a specialty of mine.;)

You're awesome, TB! Thanks for sharing your discovery! I have some cool little 10 ml Nalgene bottles and I think I'll stuff a few snus packs in there with some VG and Lorann's and see what happens.

Geeker, I want to do the same. Snus plus flavor. Let's hear how it turned out. (or did you already post and I missed it?) thanks
