Ok... Ok.... eventually. Right now I'm on day one ... 15 hrs+ on this tank and having too much fun.. in spite of the periodic ooze here & there and an occasional spurt of juice in the mouth.

Part of it IS learning... and I'm about to get the technique down. It is much different from V1.... and yeah... it was a little frustruating at first... I'll admit, but it's coming along nicely... with only the cap rings off so far.

What I REALLY like... is how the atty threads stay bone dry under the brass .... the FIRST and only device I've had to stay dry there.... (besides the battery compartment being leak proof IF it were to leak... but moot point... it doesn't... I always hated how other devices wrecked the performance from dripped juice into the atty connection.

Glad to know tho that the next tank should be even better yet. YEAH!!!

Hi my friend Jas. Did you put off the 2 o-rings as Vapn show in his pics? And did you screw well the 2 caps together? And did you screw the brass conector tight on the tank? If you had the 17/1 o-ring on the big cap then you would had no leakage at all, even a drop.
I am happy that you liked the AFS:):)

I love my AFS too and already removed the 2 O-rings.
No leakage at all now. Just great !

But my big cap O-ring is a bit too large and with time it will end up letting air enter the tank.
I checked all my O-rings I have in stock at home and also checked online european store but I can't find the exact product.
It's easy to guess 17/1 means 17mm inner circle and 1mm large ones (correct ? :p) but all I see are 17mm-1/2mm, 17mm-1/4mm or 17mm-2mm ones.
Do you have a link or a reference number (there are some norms apparently) for those o-rings in Europe ? I don't mind buying a box of O-rings if it includes the right one as I use those for other things too.
Thanks in advance.

after a small research I found this Fred:

NBR O Rings Metric Size 1mm Diameters From Polymax

and if you buy the 17/1 then buy a 12/1,5 to replace the one on the brass connector that I said to remove it, just in case we have a leakage but I dont think so

Something else for AFS that I notice.

My tries were focused to reach the balance between the air that comes through the center pole of the atty and the air atmospheric pressure that push liquid into the tank through the big cap. This balance had to bring liquid inside the atty without pushing liquid inside the center pole or maybe a little, thats the reason I made the collector tank.

But everyone can find its "sweet spot" with this AFS. I mean that some of you have more rare burn taste than others because you inhale soften or harder, you put PG or VG, etc. The AFS and its caps are adjustable so its easy for everyone to fit AFS at his needs. Some people are already happy with the standard set up that I made but some others want more from AFS. So I will give you an example:

Lets say that a man has a burn taste every 20 inhales and he wants to have this taste after 50 inhales. In that case he has to loose the small cap so it will just touch the o-ring, so more liquid will come to the atty and less to the collector tank. He can also take off the o-ring in the big cap so more air will come to the tank and less to the collector tank, so more liquid inside the atty.

I remind you that you will need the new catridge to make those adjustments without having liquid in mouth.

To another matter:
Some friends here report me a small leakage from the 8 holes of the AFS. I made a small trick to avoid this. I put around the 4 holes of the brass connector a sponge like those thin and flat sponges we use to clean out tables (vettex). I cut a small rounded piece and I made a hole in the middle. Its like a sponge nut with 2-3 mm in width. The sponge keeps the liquid that comes inside the collector tank and it doesnt let liquid to go out through the 8 holes. Also the liquid that sponge keeps will come inside the atty again by our inhales, so we dont waste it.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed enhanced taste once they've pulled off the top and bottom o rings?

thats true clyde because more air comes to atty.

air is the material that make us to be able to taste things. Try to eat something without breathing and the taste is zero. :)

Clyde, I really think you are getting the feel for the AFS and all that goes along with getting the proper amount of juice to the atty at all times. We have been enjoying this pleasure since October when the first AFS beta came out. When you get the AFS working so well you get new juice to the atty every time you puff there is none of the burning effect whatsoever. When we drip vape we put two drops on and vape until it tastes burnt. What we are doing is hitting the same juice ten times and the only puff that tastes like it should is the first one, well maybe not even that one because of the residual juice left over from the last drops that are burnt to a crisp. So yes I believe you! Aint it great? The AFS ROCKS!

In the land of no hills and red dirt
Vapnaway stated that leaks can be caused by the brass piece not being securely fastened enough to seal the bottom tank's o ring.

After cleaning out juice from my AFS and starting to reassemble it, I noticed that the metal round parts of it are slippery when wet. (duh)

I grabbed a thin, wet terrycloth kitchen towel and used it to grab hold of the brass piece (sans it's o ring and foam disk) and tank when I was screwing one into the other. I also used it to loosen the control ring a smidge after the afs was assembled. So far, no problems, knock on wood. And I really love the vape and especially taste much better without the foam ring.

Maybe I'm profoundly stupid, but does anybody think the air inlet leak issues could be cause by people trying to assemble wet pieces and not getting a good enough hold on them to securely fasten them?

And if I'm right, will Rob and Lisa start selling cheap terrycloth towels on their websites?
