Yes, that is the most important part is to test the carto before you put the whole thing together. You might find that the carto does not work or is not making contact with the connection point inside the AFS. So before you fill the tank with juice and before you put the whole AFS together is it good practice to put the brass part on the GG and then the Carto with a little juice in to test to make sure it works fine, then you should be good to go setting the whole thing up and putting juice inside the tank.
Very nice advice :thumb:
(as I discovered two times until now the hard way  )

can someone please post a pic with the hole in the cart ?? I just tried it with the one I drilled and was nothing but a straw . it just shot all the contents straight into my mouth , I was using a T tip so I assume it was cause it was just sucking the juice right out of the batting inside the carto . Plus ny hole was a little to big that I drilled and too far up on the carto .

I have a AFS metal mouthpiece in my mailbox just have to get across the border and pick it up .

1.2 mm is perfect, 8 mm above the threads, I have posted a picture somewhere.
just go through the metal then stop, if you hit the inside filler or even deeper, it is wrong. Mouthpiece helps, but is not 100% needed with carto's.
When you suck on it, open the CR all the way

Ok,

I tried a 1.5mm hole and it is as perfect as the 1.2 mm. So for people who have difficulties with the 1.2mm as it is very tiny and the drill can break easy, use the 1.5mm, no sweat only loads of vape!!!

I have suspected that modding the cartos was rather forgiving and not necessarily precise.
