My fingers are bleeding and there still isn't a hole in that darn cartomizer. Tomorrow I may just try shooting it.

If you have a grinder, grind a small and not to deep groove where you want the hole to go. I can do 5 cartos/attys in under 2 minutes

Theres no reason to drill holes in 901's other than the one thats in it from the factory in my opinion, I just chamfer mine a little bit out to make the one hole bigger and it runs great, also with my carts first thing I do is peel the sticker off, then I take a sanding block and sand the cart so all the glue is completely off clean. Then I drill very small holes and find the smaller holes work much better than drilling these big holes people are drilling in carts, in fact I find its the only way to make them work corectly. Just my $0.02

OK, I have successfully drilled some 901 atty I have had around. I am very pleased with the results so far.

However, I tried drilling some cartos tonite and am sorry to say I am not liking them at all. It one hole sufficient? Seems like I am not getting enough juice. Also should I be seeing the stuffing when I am done drilling the hole?

I found that if I tried drilling holes I would wind the stuffing around the end of the drill bit and ruin the filler so I started grinding holes instead. But yes I see filler material through the hole on mine. I too was not getting enough juice especially at 6v so I started going bigger and they started working perfectly. I like the idea of one hole and I have been marking its location on the outside of the afs so I can rotate it up and down to shut off juice if it should start to flood (They NEVER DO though). Its nice to dry them up a little sometimes by rotating the hole up though. I was so used to this with the V1 its like second nature for me now.

I use one of the Dremel drill press accessories, its really handy for this. It's around $50 at Lowes or Home Depot.

I just use a grinding bit to roughen it up a touch, and then drill gingerly. Once the bit bites, I just tap and remove until if finally "pops" through. You get a perfect little hole, and the stuff remains untouched for the most part.

Making a jig should be easy, then you can just preset the depth, if I get a chance this weekend I will make a jig and post it for anyone interested.

Wafflestomper...I have the exact same drill press made by dremel and rigged up a jig/clamp on the base of it to hold the carto's in place too. The presses are nice because you can set the depth of drilling(Drill Stop). My jig has a stop on it so I dont even have to measure how far up to drill them anymore(1/4" to centerline of 5/64" hole for those non-metric folks). They are a peice cake once ya get set up!

Happy Vaping!:toast:

I don't expect that to happen but I did order that Dremel drill press. My GG family is so sweet to help me with anything I need. :):):):)

Im not getting any juice? I drilled my holes in the cartomizer 6mm from the bottom. I used a 1.32mm drill bit. (This drill bit is extremely small) Is it really suppose to be this small? I primed the cartomizer with 10 drops of juice and after that ran out the cartomizer got the burnt taste.

Am i doing something wrong? I have repeated this with 3 cartomizers.

I have read that 1.2-1.6mm is the preferred size

Joh buddy,

don't drill it to deep, if you do that you will get the fluval burned or the carto damaged. And also: make it bigger, like 1.5 mm. After you have drilled it, drip 10 drops or so and try it without AFS. If it works good then use the AFS, it should work perfect my friend!!

Yes, that is the most important part is to test the carto before you put the whole thing together. You might find that the carto does not work or is not making contact with the connection point inside the AFS. So before you fill the tank with juice and before you put the whole AFS together is it good practice to put the brass part on the GG and then the Carto with a little juice in to test to make sure it works fine, then you should be good to go setting the whole thing up and putting juice inside the tank.

thats true Keith. I got messy sometimes by thinking that atomizer was working and then I was assembling and disassembling the AFS again and again. First we see if atomizer is working and then we assemble. That was a nice advice:toast:
