Hate tooth extraction.
Have to work around vaping for the next several days. Thinking about 50% 100mg Nicotine in VG, 25% PG, 20% plain VG, and maybe 5% of a mint flavor. Not for vaping, but to apply a drop it two directly onto the tip of tongue to avoid nicotine withdrawal.
Any ideas ?

maybe buy a pack of 20 lozenges and suck them on the other side? you have plenty of options really, including the patch. There's even a nicotine JUICE DRINK lol. If I were you I wouldn't sweat it too much, the socket will heal up within 2 days. In the meantime just take it easy. If it were me I'd just decrease the amount I vape.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There are people that do put drops of juice under the tongue, not uncommon.

Better than dry socket..you don't want dry socket unless you like pain. You want to decrease the risk of as much as possible. no sucking/drawing actions...at all.

Just because other people have vaped or used straws and whatnot after a tooth extraction without getting dry socket, it doesn't mean you will be so lucky.

I don’t know how much you vape but I just went through two extractions with some bone removal/sutures on Saturday.

I’m a chain vaper of 3mg nic. Last time I calculated I was vaping about 25-30 mls daily but I use a squonk as well as different tanks throughout the day so it’s probably more.

I had no desire to Vape after the procedure and no withdrawal symptoms. I was sick from swolleling so much blood - I know gross right. I didn’t feel well enough to even want to vape until 4 1/2 days later.

I had been worried about nic withdrawal but I was “pleasantly” surprised I had no issues. Hopefully you’ll do fine as well.

good luck with the extraction!!

I'm thinking nose vaping. :thumb:

Personally, I've vaped after most every dental procedure. Tooth extractions, implants, etc, with no negative outcomes.

Ahhh, the fabled nose to lung vape. Yes. It works. Burns like hell and doesn't do sinuses much good. I know this because I have done it. If you cant vape, try the Zyn or On nicotine pouches. In peppermint flavor or course. The On brand has 8mg pouches that really pack a punch and will keep the nicotine beast happy til you can vape again. I keep a few handy just in case. Dont do what I did and pop 2 of em under your lip. That's 16mg lol and I broke a cold sweat and nausea in short order. Only thing that kept me from puking was me spitting the things back out quick enough.

If you're worried about dry socket issues, keep in mind that is only a risk if you use too much suction. I vape restricted DL at around 11 watts and if I do my inhales slowly, say taking about 8 seconds for a drag, there is so little suction happening it's pretty much irrelevant.

I have vaped this way after three extractions and not had a problem.

I totally get it if you feel the risk is not worth it, just wanted to pass on my opinion and my experience. Best of luck with it whichever way you decide to go

I think it's an excellent idea to do something other than vaping but if you do fall back into vaping make sure to keep your mouth open do not close it back around the drip tip. Make sure the air flow is wide open and that it doesn't require any suction that is greater than taking a regular breath. As I said it's way better to do something else I would probably lean more towards a lozenge as chewing gum is definitely out but you would have to make sure not to suck on the lozenge either. I don't know what mix one would use in order to use ejuice as a sublingual

Exactly. Dry Sockets are quite painful.

Never heard of such a thing. Tried it a few times, very strange sensation to say the least.
But it does deliver nicotine, which is all vaping is about.

Nicotine suppositories were mentioned?
they have 2 pros:
- will help with nic cravings
- will compensate the pain from the dental procedure with a portion of shame :cry:

I really have no desire to even look into this.....

It's about more than only nic, wouldn't you say? Flavor, for one. And oral pleasure. Like chewing gum.

True. It's easy to find a flavor one would enjoy. Oral Satisfaction is part of it.
But used as a nicotine delivery system, many long term smokers have quit tobacco products.
