Good lawd Xo, you kept a coil in for more than a few hours? :D

I never kept a coil in long enough before to make a call either.

Also have noticed an improvement with a new coil after about 2 weeks of use on one.

I have the same build withdrawals and have tinkered a little myself with the Loch Ness Monster, Pancake, and a Spongebob that I didn't even bother to take a picture of cause I ripped it out so fast.

Sigh, just haven't found anything better yet than the Meat Grinder and my normal daily 1/2 of the Meat Grinder and voltage drop is not an issue that needs addressed anymore.

I do have some hemp coming to try.

Going to order a few DIY flavors from a company I haven't ordered any from.

Also need to get a new soldering iron (can't find my good one) and work on the low voltage Reo hybrid atty to see if that pans out.

Got to do something to keep from going bonkers.
Good thing work has been so hectic lately.
Speaking of which lunch is almost over.

I feel ya man. your wire + my juice has me quite bored. I have several pieces of African Blackwood, Gaboon Ebony, and a few different pieces of stabilized wood coming. I don't have any tools other than a dremel, a drill, a torch, and basic pliers/screwdrivers... so i'm going to be using the drill and the dremel for most of it, but i'm going to try my hand at making a woodie.

Starting w/ the blackwood. It was only a few bucks a piece, so I don't much care if I kill it. The stabilized wood, however... probably ran me close to a new grand's price for the 4 pieces.

My plan is to integrate my fuse block as the negative with a mech-style button. That way I only need one wire from the 510 neg to the fuse neg. Still unsure whether i'll be putting in an on/off switch.

Mundy Magic in a modified Fogger. 2mm coil at .65ohms - 50/50 Cotton Hemp for the wick. All hemp for the slots to fill in around the wick. Its vaping hot..hot...hot. Need the battery to settle down a bit. But taste and vapor is kicking!

ha, I've been having thoughts of building a wood mod too, but def stabilized. my thoughts are to rough shape it first before stabilization. where did you pick up the exotic woods? I would want mine to be significantly different from a reo though, not into copying someone elses design. I was also thinking of doing a wood/metal hybrid design too maybe, give it that gun/knife kind of look of wood and metal construction. not so into wood but stabilized is a whole different ballgame really and has much more durability than wood. I have a good vacuum chamber to stabilize it, never did it before but shouldn't be so difficult I think :)

So, yeah I'm spoiled. Someone in the RBA forum had a tight little 24g microcoil; so I thought, "what the heck". Made up a little 9/10 wrap on a 1/16" ID. .. . . . . and it's fine. It's nice. But it ain't no Mundy. Maybe, just for kicks, I'll try one of these dragon do-dads tomorrow, just cause I haven't tried that yet. It kin'a sucks, trying new coil builds not because it may be better; but just cause I'm bored. Oh, well, it'll serve to remind me of how good I got it now.

Thanks a lot, Mundy.

So I was thinking that all the above ohm vapers are missing out on the MM wire. Using a VV PV is pretty much a non-starter due to the low resistance of the triple wire. I was twisting up some Mundy Magic and had some of the single wire components sitting around so I broke out the multi-meter and a digital caliper and took some measurements on a double wire configurations.

In my latest batch, resistance of the triple is similar in resistance to 28g but is as thick as 19g. The double is similar in resistance to 31g but is as thick as 21g, putting it right in a sweet spot for a VV coil.

I coiled up a double twisted 1.5mm 5 wrap micro-coil to see how it performs. And its working, very well. Its ~1.2ohms and it cranks vapor like a sub-ohm at 14watts. No lag and its not bucking or vaping hot at all (warm). The atty is getting hot but the vape is not. I have it in a dripper that I had the triple wire sub-ohm coil in to compare and threw it on a Provari. Its a great approach for a standard variable volt PV to get sub-ohm like performance.

Ok, I apologize in advance because I recently found this thread & am excited to give it a try and am looking at getting all of the necessary materials ASAP but I admit I have not yet had the chance to read the entire thread yet so I'm sorry if I'm asking something already covered.

I am looking for the exact vise-grips for the necessary weight. Look like Irwin long-nose 9ln. Is this correct? Specifications everywhere don't include weights and I'd like to avoid buying a scale just to bring with me to home depot to weigh them in the isles to make sure I get it right.

Sorry again. I promise to read every post here i just want to gather everything necessary in advance.

Are they these?

What I did, being that I have a kitchen scale, was to weigh some stuff until I came out with (?) 6.5oz (?). It ended up being a pair of hemostats (thx Xobe) with a spring clamp hung from them too. You could use anything that weighs less than the prescribed amount, and hand something additional from it. I think Xobeloot just used hand tensioning and developed a feel for it.

short answer; IDK
