I can't get the single pieces to twist completely without breaking. Of course, I only have .6x1 though, and my vice grips may very well be too heavy.

I've gotten a few new toys as of late, so have only tried a few times.

Bet the vise grips are too heavy.
The ones I use are small.
Don't remember the weight but it is in the first video.
Also if you heated it first, don't.

You guys never cease to amaze me. I was wondering if someone would be willing to make some of this for me if I sent them the ribbon? I'd try it myself, but I believe it's way above my skill level :( Keep up the great work!

Master of Bassets...and not much else.

Do you have the 0.6 X 0.7 already?
If not I have plenty of ribbon, but it might be awhile due to my schedule.
If you don't mind waiting send me a PM with your address.

Out of all the piles of boxes of tools I have, I could not find one pair of small vice grips, so I got creative. I ended up using a pair of hemostats and clipped my ring of keys to the handle of it. The hemos weighted with the keys came in at 6.4 ounces.

I've always clamped one end in a vice and the other end in the powerdrill and then hold the drill up parallel to the vice so the wire is stretched out horizontally with just enough force to keep the wire straight and then spin, this allows me to control the tension but also allows the drill to move closer to the vice as it shortens, it's easiest to control the tension this way because I only need a slight outward pull on the drill, just enough to keep the wire straight, most of my effort is holding the drill up with very little tension pushing it away sideways... works really well for me, I never tried the hanging method. I also don't clamp it too tight in the drill so if I do happen to put a little too much force on it it will pop out of the drill chuck rather than snapping the wire... just throwing this out there some may want to try it, it works well for me :)

So after a week or two of messing around with MM, I was having almost no luck. There was incredible amounts of popping, leaking, lack of vape, lack of flavor. But I stuck with it and after my 6th or 7th try I nailed it  . I followed Xobe's advice and made a spread-out 3 wrap on 1/16th comes out to .4 or .5 ish (my meter has been giving me weird values), and it is incredible! Thanks xobe :toast:

The largest issue that I had was the three wire counter twist, my problem was that I was not twisting tight enough and not getting them to interlock well. Like Turbo I found that holding the vice grips horizontal and controlling tension manually gave me the best/easiest results. I would have much more tension this way (2 or 3 times as much as hanging) and counter spin until I saw the first little section start to crinkle (in a bad way) and stop there. Not the most efficient method but the part that looked good has been performing great.

As far as having the wire break, it happens all the time for me but it is always at the chuck of the drill so its very easy to just re-chuck it and off I go.

Kristen, your wire looks like it came out pretty good (I think Mundy is right about over twisting although I have no conception of the size of the folds by looking at the pics, need a banana for scale ), keep trying to counter twist with the drill and give it more tension than just hanging it, you might see better results. An easy method I found to chuck the three strands is to give the end a few twists, like a twist tie, and it should be very easy to get it to stay in there.
Gig, you would be surprised how easy it is to do. I am like the least handy-capable here and even I managed to pull it off (after some persistence), but once you get over the learning curve its easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy

Good stuff Mr. SeaN! WHen I make my MM, I twist the flat wire w/ a power drill and a pair of forceps. I do it all my hand tension. When I get my 3 strands, I interlock them by hand. I don't think mine is as "Jagged" as that of the people who drill lock it, but it is the perfect vape.

The past couple days I've been playing with standard wire coils and... frankly... it sucks! i'm a MM addict. no need for touching coils, no xobe-drivers or dibby-cracks... just a spaced wrap with a micro ID... Add some monkey poo and i'm in vape heaven!

that's your hemp swimming in there, gdeal. It really brings out the tangy lemoniness (as does the René); but misses the middle. The MM, of course, fills in the middle and bass end nicely.

Interesting...sorta like a symphony of metals and natural fibers creating blend of vape awesomeness. BTW got a new process for the hemp...."uber clean hemp".

Its a bit different now. First batch on the left, new batch on the right.
