thanks Mr.Mann!

No prob.

If you make an order, let us know what you got, how the transaction went and most importantly, how the flavors are. I like OOO, but I have only had a couple dealings with them and I didn't get many flavors, but they have a whole lot of interesting stuff to choose from.

Hi folks. Mann pointed me to this thread, and I've enjoyed scanning it.

Torrone. That brings me back to my Italian-American childhood.
It's an Italian candy, rectangular pieces of nougat, almonds mixed in, covered with an edible rice paper type of thing. In this variety, nougat is an egg white and sugar concoction. Lightly flavored with honey and maybe vanilla, but not sure about the latter. But, it's not like a soft meringue. It's very hard.
As a kid, even with a serious sweet tooth, I hated it. Italian family adults kept giving it to me, lovingly, as a treat. I pretended to be grateful. I kept thinking, why do they give me this stuff? Why not some nice cookies? LOL. But that was really because I didn't much like nuts then, and because it was so hard. I might like to vape it far more than I liked eating it.

What is torrone?

clnire,

Can you tell me which coconut you recommend and what it is about that one that does the trick for you?

Mann, if you are referring to my post in another thread, I checked the recipe for Smurf and it is sweet cream, not coconut

Smurf
Capella Sweet Strawberry 8%
Capella Blueberry 8%
TFA Sweet Cream 5%
TFA Cotton Candy 4%

The coconut was for a Flamingo recipe. I have Flavor Art Coconut, used just because it's the only one I have! But I like Flavor Art.
Flamingo Recipe:
Strawberry 8% (CAP)
Peach 7% (FA)
Coconut 3 (FA)

also very nice....

edit: yep, on another thread...

I haven't had much luck with this flavoring. Granted I've only tried it once, but it just seems more like a good starting point for making that candy in a vape, but not as a standalone. It's mostly dry and nutty with a tinge of something that may be nougat, but I don't know.

Yes that sounds like torrone. And it was as hard as my drip tip.

My experience also. I wound up using it a few drops at a time in my tobacco mixes.

See, that's not only thinking out of the box but a very bright decision. Man, rock on, JD1, rock on! So smart. Did it taste as good as I am thinking it would?

It was very good, but on the other hand I didn't reorder and probably won't lol. It's just that I'm so crazy over my ry4 type additions (caramel, vanilla, nut) plus I really like TFA brown sugar extra and sweetener for adding sweetness.

That is an awesome idea that I need to try, the Acetyl Pyrazine is not working well for me, even diluted, but the Torrone could add the note I'm looking for to my tobacco flavors, so it will be on my next order from e-liquid mart. I find FA flavors awesome, except tobacco ones that I don't care much for.

Ha! I can't get AP right either. I haven't done a strong enough dilution of it, but like you, I think it's one of those things that I'd rather achieve with a flavor.

What percentages have you used it at? I've only used it straight at one drop per 10 mL (too much!), but I would recommend trying it how I do difficultly strong flavors. I do a 50% and 25% (or any other lower percentages) in PG and then add that in by the drop to 10 mL to see how it works. I hadn't cared enough about the benefits of AP to try that, but I bet it would work -- or at least not be so nasty.

Art, would you consider yourself to have a sensitive palate? I know I do.

I am not sure, never considered my palate too sensitive, however there is something about Pyrazine i can't get along with.
I have diluted the 5% one in 3 parts of pg, then used as suggested in different recipes...but still i don't get a nice flavor, just kinda rancid. Think I'm giving up on it. I have never experienced that "popcorn" flavor some mention. (Wish it was popcorn what I get lol). Maybe Torrone will do the trick.

I just received a order from MBV and the Cinnamon Roll is by far my favorite flavor so far!:) This is great with a cup of coffee in the mornings. I was looking for a bakery flavor that could be made as a "stand alone" flavor, and I think I've found it. I mixed it @ 10 percent with a 10/90 PG/VG mix (I'm a dripper),I can taste the sweet cinnamon, with just a touch of buttery dough flavor. Now I want to make some for my clearomizer, but I'm not sure of what ratio to use? I hear the flavor comes on stronger with the more PG that you use in the mix?

For a clearomizer you may try from 50/50 pg/vg to 100% pg, i would use 75%pg 25%vg.
Regarding flavors...i don't find a big difference except that the higher the pg the shortest the steeping time, but i wouldn't be concerned by that. Do an small "tester" (5 or 10ml of juice), drop the bottle into a thermos filled with hot water from the faucet (as hot as it gets), put the cap on the thermos and let the bottle there for like 4 hours...then take the bottle and shake it for a while, and the following morning you can enjoy of your creation. Good luck!

Thanks for the information!:) I use a ultrasonic to steep my juice. I'll give the 50/50 a try!

My FA shipment arrived.
I'm going to do test batches in 10ml bottles, and have been scanning various recommendations for proportions.
I recognize this will never result in precise recipes, but that said: using the little flavor bottles, has anyone approximated how many drops equate to a ml?

Edit: on another DIY thread someone said that 20 drops = approximately 1ml

Does this seem reasonable to you folks?

I also conclude that my flavors are gonna last a long time. Is out of daylight in a cool place ok, do you recommend refrigeration?

The Capella Hazelnut v2 seems smoky to me; it goes nicely in my Smoky Cappucino recipe.
