Randy:
Check this out..been reading the ceramic threads..It seems air diffusers for fish tanks make great wicks. Of course these need to be shaped and ground down prior to use..

Very much thanx to Scubabatdan !!!!!

I have also been following the thread on the ceramic wick. I watched Scubabatdan's video with the wick that has the coil inside the hole. This gave me an idea, wanted to see what you think about it.

1. Take a piece of the stone and drill a hole through it.
2. Cut the stone down to where is is a cylinder and fits tightly inside the wick barrel of the replaceable head.
3. Make the coil on a drill bit and fit it inside the cylinder with one end going out the top and the other going out the bottom.
4. The top side of the coil could either be pinched between the wick and the wick barrel or between the center post and the wick barrel.
5. The bottom side of the coil would be ran as usual between the silicon insulator and the contact post.

I hope that made sense, I can picture it pretty well in my head anyway.

Not sure if this would be doable in such a small space, but I think it would work pretty well as long at it did not flood.

It's probably my fault that we've gone off topic on this thread... but probably should get back to discussing the eVod instead...

Just to briefly touch on the idea so to not ignore the post completely... First, the wick ( ceramic or other type ) needs to be submerged in the e-liquid in order to work... in a bottom coil it may work as a replacement but obviously not in a top coil design. Placing the coil within a hole may work but it would also be difficult to inspect for hot spots that aren't touching the ceramic well enough. In addition, when the coils heat/cool down... they change their size slightly which may also affect performance by having a hot spot show up latter.

I suspect the concept could work in a BC but there would still be issues to address... not to mention that we are now going OT in the thread ( again, it's more my fault for bringing it up here to start with )

Yes, I guess it is getting a little ot, just thought I would throw that out there since you mentioned something about it. I am subscribing to this thread though, looking forward to trying these out.

I have been enjoying the T3 and these look like they may improve on them to some extent. I was just about to order some T3 mini but I think I'm going to wait a little while for these to become available.

Due to the extremely small and confined space in which to work in with the BC Kangers, a "straw" type wick would be incredibly difficult to pull off. I understand what your wanting to do, and if successful, I would very much like to see it.

However, I was considering just doing something simple such as grinding down very small and solid ceramic "rods" if you will, and rebuild a few using them..I have also kicked around the idea of using a bit thicker coil wire, such as 30ga.

By using ceramic stone, and a thicker coil wire, I feel a virtually indestructible atty head can be achieved.

^ my guess is US vendors will have them any day now and depends on how long it takes them to add it to their site. They're for sale here from a .au website vendor, so maybe they got the shipping quicker and uploaded right away.

At the bottom of that page^, it says it's compatible with a T3/MT3 coil head. I don't know why lord davin didn't mention that in his vid, or why sun vapers wrote that he had to force a T3 coil into it and doubted it would work, but didn't post the results.

I edited out the link, but gotvapes should have them very soon.

I wonder, why do you want to fit a T3 base into this? If you want to use T3 do so, or if you want eVod, use their heads! I don't really understand the point!
Because a lot of us already have a bunch of T3 bases that still have plenty of life left on them. To be able to plug and play is a bonis while transitioning.

Still don't see the point. The MT3 would cover the metal side, and the mini T3 the smaller need. I don't think modding would be a great idea.

That doesn't invalidate the answer you were given to the question you asked... being able to reuse the same parts is certainly a valid reason to hope they are at least somewhat interchangeable.

Kanger Evod, Vapeonly BCC, ... "Cheaper than analogs" my ...! :eek:D

The ceramic rod wick might work well if sealed lightly with cotton, but I got excited about the vertical coil in a ceramic barrel and will surely try that on a T3 at some point.

I'm spending far more than I ever spent while smoking, and I'm not buying any mods or rebuildables... Still, my mother died of a stroke at 53, and chances are, I'm at great risk unless I stop smoking NOW...
