This doesn't bother me at all. Now that I'm vaping I can easily go without. Wasn't that way with cigarettes though.

Exactly!

I think most people can make it through dinner without having to vape. Pushing the envelope with business owners will ultimately do more damage than good to vapers' rights/wants.

Me too.

(though I suspect it's because I'm saturating myself with about four times the nicotine now than I was when I was smoking, thanks to my newfound freedoms. But, that's a discussion for another thread).

I dunno.

Some of the Stuff I read in the Threads here on the ECF makes me Wonder.

I never thought that People Couldn't go 5 Minutes with out Taking a Hit while at a Gas Station. But I was Wrong I Guess.

Exactly.
If the "within 50 feet of the entrance" is on their private property, they can prohibit it.
If the "within 50 feet of the entrance" is on public property, e.g. a public sidewalk, they have no jurisdiction over that public sidewalk. In that case, the government / city hall has jurisdiction over that public sidewalk.

I think Starbucks was once planning to prohibit smoking x feet from the entrance of their outlets - in Germany.
I'd like to see them try to forbid a legal activity happening on the public sidewalk of a sovereign country. A public sidewalk owned by that sovereign country and peopled by free citizens of that sovereign country :sneaky:

How is smoking treated in Germany these days anyway? I was there in 1996, everyone smoked everywhere they wanted pretty much. There was food and beer and cigarettes and nice people all over the place. Man I loved it there LOL

honestly what is with all the fuss about thinking you are getting more nicotine with e-cigs than a normal cigarette because in a study i read it was saying the nicotine absorption rates in your body with even the newer e-cig mods is still way lower than a normal cigarette.

STUDY FOUND HERE

I guess it also depends on how much you used to smoke, and how much you now vape.

I just know that when I smoked, I often found myself with cravings, mainly because circumstances kept me from smoking as much as I wanted. And I almost always "wanted" a cigarette.

I haven't had one, not even slight, craving since I started vaping. Maybe it's magic, but I suspect it's because I'm getting a lot of nicotine.

That's just me. I'm not complaining, or admonishing anyone to vape less, or trying to hijack the thread. No agenda. Just a personal observation.

I guess it also depends on how much you used to smoke, and how much you now vape.

also take into consideration that cigarette companies added hundreds of chemicals to their cigarettes so that the nicotine would get absorbed real quick and stay in your system longer and with e-cigs they don't have all these extra chemicals so it would make sense that you don't absorb near as much of the nicotine i think that is why we ALL find ourselves vaping a little more often than we smoked.

when i smoked i smoked around a pack a day i would chain smoke while driving out of pure habit. but at home i would have a cigarette like every hour or sometimes twice an hour but i vape like 4 or 5 good hits every 15 to 20 minutes because i have to to absorb around the same amount of nicotine as in a normal cigarette.

I have walked out on restaurants that allow vaping inside the dining area. Why? Because I don't want to smell someone's Ooey Gooey Tutti Frutti ejuice, or whatever their vaping, while I'm paying my money to have a meal. The vapor doesn't bother me, but I don't want to smell whatever is being vaped while I'm eating. Just common courtesy alone should be enough for a reasonable person to not infringe on others dining experience this way. It's self centered and rude. The bar or patio, as long as they're partitioned from the dining area, I don't care either way. But in the dining area respect for other diners should just be common courtesy. I fully support ALL restaurants being able to deny vaping on the premises if they wish. And the restaurants that don't allow vaping in the dining area are the ones that are most likely to get my business.

Meanwhile, back at the Chile's in Bradenton...

Look up the laws if it bothers you, and send them a letter. I personally do not care if a private business nixes vaping on their property, I think that should be up to business owners everywhere.

If they're nixing vaping where they have no jurisdiction, don't eat there. Let them know that you think their policy is stupid and you don't want to eat their food and possibly catch The Stupid. It's not a federal case IMO. lol
