Well darn. . . I snapped the negative post on my Reomizer tonight. I was trying to unscrew the darn thing by twisting the base as prescribed, but the slippery juice covered thing slid a little and my fat finger bent the post right over. After that, the whole thing just fell apart. :( Luckilyy I have my black A7 to replace it, but I won't be buying another Reomizer. I hate that the ERA costs so much, but I definitely think it's much more sturdy and refined. No offense Rob, I know these were just modified Chinese atties, but I think I'll stick with a dedicated unit from now on. The Reomizer works and works well, just not sturdy enough for my continuous tinkering and roughness. It definitely suits its purpose as an entry level cheaper alternative, sadly it just didn't stand the test of me, lol. Anybody looking to dump an ERA for a reasonable amount? Hehe!

No offense taken it is what it is and they can be broke if one is not careful . I tend to just leave it on the mod I have always been that way . Your not the first to break one or the last I am sure

Totally agreed. I thought I was careful, lol. I was actually going to try a different oring underneath as I couldn't stop the leaking-into-the-catchcup problem. The bigger oring was slightly too fat for it to seat all the way and when I tried to get it back off, it slipped. Bummer. No worries though. I still think you make the best bottom feeder in existence and couldn't be happier with my Reos!

How do you like the A7? Any modifications necessary to make work on a REO?

A7 is all right.

I tried drilling an airhole in it so I could seal the bottom to the mod and use it just like reomizer, but gave up after dulling 3 drill bits and getting about half way through :) Turns out stainless steel is harder than brass. Who'da thunk?

Without drilling, it can be gurgly a bit, which is not a big deal. Still requires a bit of tinkering with the positive post on the bottom, but that's pretty easy.

I found that when attaching the coil to the posts, it's easier to wrap the wire around the top of the screws rather than putting it through the holes in the posts and tightening the screws. The machining there is not very smooth, so the screws tend to shear off the wire if you put it through the holes.

It's okay. It's pretty friggin tall, but the black version I have looks great on my blacked out Grand with a black shorty TruFlo driptip! It holds a lot more juice than either the ERA or the Reomizer though, so I'd consider that a slight plus. The only modification I made was to put a piece of a carto condom around the negative screw to act as an insulator and help tighten the play in it. You can see pics of this mod here.

I have the center post problem with my A7 like everyone else. I tried nerak's fix but I found that on mine, the piece of carto condom slipped off of the screw head and into the well causing it to restrict airflow. So I took out the carto piece and just put some thread tape on the center screw. Now my screw has no wobble and more secure. Hope this helps someone.

I like that single malt lurking in the back. I'm more of an Islay man, but respect nonetheless :)

I was offered by 3 generous REOnauts free rebuildables tho very appreciative I refused the 1st 2 because I knew I wouldn't deal with it and it would have been a waste on me. I did accept the 3d because they didn't want nor like it and it was already set up so what the heck right. :) Anyway I metered it @2.3Ω and thru it on the Tesla....WOW. Ok now I believe the hype but I think if I had to hassle setting it up it might be a problem with my arthritis and I spend 80% having to lay down. I gotta say it does look awesome on my REOVV!!! ;)

Gil building a new coils every now and then is really not a big deal also if the wick is silica you can dry burn the crap out of it and wash it with PGA and reuse it over and over, I think Lisa said she hasn't changed hers in months! I change mine every couple of weeks just because I can and its SUPER cheap:)

Wayne told me about some pre-made wick and coils you can buy which may be a better fit for me under my current circumstances. :)
