Hey lucky, try vaping only when you have cravings for an analog.

I quite analog's 4 or 5 years ago and was fine until the last few months I've been having horrible cravings, broke down and split one with a friend, but that only satisfied things for a day or two before the cravings came back.

I broke down and ordered a ruyan jazz just to see if it helped because I really don't want to start analog's again.

Anyway, since I've gotten it the thought of analog's grosses me out. When I have a craving I take a few "puffs" and I'm good to go, analog thoughts sounds gross again.

Just hang in there!

Well for me its been 2 days, and its still really hard, because I still have the craving for a analog cig. But when ever I get the urge to light up, I just pick up my e-cig and take a couple of puffs, and the craving goes away. Hopefully I can stick with it because I really don't want to go back to smoking. The true test will be when I get to work on Monday, where I do the majority of my smoking because of the high stress level, and that little break that smoking gave me to clear my head.

As someone who switched from regular analogs to additive free analogs years ago, I absolutely went through a withdrawal after switching. I didn't even think about it until after it was happening, so I know it wasn't in my head. It was easier to deal with probably because I hadn't quit analogs.

I have no doubt that at least some of the other chemicals have some addictive natures to them. For instance, some of the flavorings - licorice being one, is used in analogs. Licorice perks up your cortisol levels and adrenals. If you went off of that after years, you'd feel tired and maybe even a little depressed.

You can buy licorice as a supplement, so it's something you could try to see if it's the missing link.

Who knows what the rest of the chemicals do considering there's thousands of them.

Yesterday was the first day in about 20 years I didn't smoke a cigarette.

I am still in shock at this e-smoking thing and am only on my 5th day at it, but I am having ZERO cravings for a real cig, and I was on 30 a day for many years. Maybe I'll crave a real ciggie over the coming days, but on any previous NRT I've tried I'm climbing the walls for a ... after 24 hours, so 5 days for me is a major breakthrough.

I guess we are all built differently and react physically differently to withdrawal. Hope OP's cravings end.

I haven't craved a real cig since my first puff on the e-cig. I *did* however give one a try after about a week, just to see what it would be like. Took one drag, and flipped it out the car window. TERRIBLE!!!

I'm on my 5th day of analog free.... and I'm still getting rather strong urges, especially after meal. I vape the heck out of my e-cigs to tame it though, and so far it's working out. I'm actually considering a Titan or SD, as for those, I need the maximum throat hit / lung hit....!

But other than that... It's been quite easy for me to go on, and it's so convenient! When my co-workers are not in the room I secretly vape a puff or two. Yummy! ;)

Part of it is the ritual of going to your smoke spot, lighting up, flicking the ash. The other part is the chemicals we dont get through e-cigs. Us smokers seem to be very habitual. (I.E. I always light up a cig while driving, even if I just had one [out of e-juice right now... sadface])

EDIT: I'll be building a SD like clone for bigger hits for throat hits for those urges, I get them hardcore while drinking...

Oh I'm doing fine. I'm on day 31 without EVER touching an analog, not even a puff. They are long gone.

That mystifies me as well. There is research saying that nicotine alone has trouble sustaining an addiction in rats and that there are chemicals that inhibit MAO activity in cigarette smoke. This appears to be one reason NRT doesn't work for many people since the MAOIs keep the body from defusing much of nicotine's effect on the brain.

There may be any number of other reasons analogs hit the spot better than e-cigs, the research just hasn't been done yet.

I know for me, things are much easier if I smoke one or two Marlboro Ultralights a day in addition to the ecig. I'd like to think eventually we'll be able to add the smoke chemicals we're missing for those of us who need a little more.

Let's just hope the chemicals we need aren't carcinogenic.

Of course my other option is to suck it up and cut out the extra analogs. Maybe later...

So, how come so many hardened smokers (myself included) are having such incredibly fast and successful results with e-cigs? Honestly, I find it very, very weird. If you'd told me last Friday night that I would have had 1 cigarette in the following 7 days I'd have laughed at you. Odd, odd, odd.

It really is amazing!

After 3 weeks of vaping I still smoke several real cigs every day. For me the main reason I've done this is that I still haven't found an e-cig which gives me the throat hit I desire! I see video reviews where people seem to concentrate on the amount of vapor an e-cig puts out. But for me, I couldn't care less if I'm exhaling massive plumes of vapor as long as I get a decent throat hit. Seriously, is there any e-cig or cigar out there which gives a throat hit at least close to what a real cigarette does? So far I've tried the 901, 401, the Smoke Stik Model as well as the Red Dragon which I believe is a V9...

For a real throat kick, try one of the manual switch styles. They allow you to preheat the atty before you start to draw in the vapor.....

I've got the Kissbox from Janty, and the Screwdriver. Both are Excellent for throat hit....

I get cravings everyday, and I always get scared that I may one day give in. but I know I won't, 'cause I would have already. I never could have went more than an hour even with just a craving without the obvious solution. I could NEVER make it a day on will power alone. I know this. but I just hit 3 weeks, and not a 1.

I took a single puff of one on day 5 I think, and it was so harsh, so lung-filling (in a bad way) and tasted like I dipped something I love into a hot butthole. I coughed hard. which, in a weird way, was wonderful. just feeling how deep I could breathe now...it was victorious. I still get those cravings, but I just hit my 901 (which I usually think won't do the trick), and 10 minutes later I go, "Hey, didn't I want a cigarette earlier?".

PS
I honestly (no lie!) thought the title was ".... Cravings" for a split second. in which case, my response would have been identical....I joke. I do not enjoy the mens.
