Should I go with a 510 kit or a 801 kit ? Are both just as easy to buy supply's for ( common ) ? We ( my wife and I ) plan to make the full switch to vaping ( the 21st century(s) we curently have go dead rather quick so we wind up smoking , but they would make a good back up for when what ever we go with next is charging ) as soon as we get better equipment. I realize this question has been asked and I have searched a lot but it seems one can become overwhelmed when getting started. We had planed to spend around $60 for a starter kit containing 2 battery's, is one of these the best option for that price range?

I highly recommend going with a 510 system, many more options for attachments and accessories. As for new PVs, I'd go with the RIVA set up. Be sure to use the 20% discount code, october20!

Good luck!

If you can identify what you don't like about your current pv, which is size of battery you're really going to get more of the same with a 510 or KR808.

Some people don't mind the small battery and carry a pcc or a bunch of extra batteries. If they annoy you (and they would annoy me) I'd get a bigger battery model like Iffy suggested.

1 hour per 100 mah of continous vaping on a new battery.

An ego type battery starts at 650 or 750 mah, which will give you a minimum of 7-8 hours on one battery. If you want more battery life you need to go bigger. When I say bigger, it's about the size of a sharpie. Not much longer than your current pv but fatter.

Riva is good. eGo is good. You can probably get a Riva kit cheaper than an eGo kit, but the Riva batteries I've had don't seem to hold a charge as long as the eGo. Part of that is the unregulated design of the Riva. You get 4.2v right off the charger that quickly settles at 3.7v and drops as you vape until cutoff at 3.2v. While you are above 3.4v, you are pulling more current from the battery, so charge life drops compared to the eGo. The eGo maintains a regulated 3.4v until just before shutoff.

Kgo is another option that many people like. All are 510 thread and there are adapters available for about $4 to use most any atomizer with any battery. Click the 20% off icon when you reach the page to get the lower prices.

You can buy a Riva 510 kit from www.liberty-flights.com for $29.95 with two attys and two batteries. The Boge carto version is $34.

100mah is about equal to an hour of vaping as a rule of thumb. That can rise or fall, depending on the resistance of the atomizer or cartomizer you use. Lower resistance pulls more current load from the battery.

I too am a newbie but I can tell you what is working for me-been analog free for about 2 months now. I picked up a 510 kit from vapornine.com. Price was 30.00 included 2 batteries, 5 cartomisers, usb plug and wall wort for it. I am really pleased with this kit. You can get 2 kits for your 60.00. The liquid in the prefilled cartos is not too bad either. I also ordered 2 extra batteries and a pack of empty cartos. Found out later that I could have saved a bit on the cartos from a different place but that is another story. Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping. I am firmly on this road and have definately burnt that smoking bridge behind me.

Personal recommendation! There is a massive amount of sites who sell starter kits of a never ending variety. It will take you a long time to wrap your head around all the information there is out there. :matrix: as far as a good kit under 60 bucks, I just recently got a Kgo starter kit from KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit I'm super satisfied with it, its a long lasting battery (i vape the equivalent of a cigarette every 5 - 10 mins and it lasts me 10 - 14 hours of straight vapeing, to put it this way, i change the battery usually at around 11 PM every night) its an EGO clone, pretty much the most popular PV on the market and much cheaper than a comparable EGO kit. It uses a 510 connection, (again the most popular vapeing connection IMHO) and did i mention CHEAP? go check them out and try to find something of the same quality for less :) Also if you and your wife spend alot of time near power sources (usb ports or wall sockets) you should look into a 510 passthru. No more dead batterys

Yes definitely continue using cartos. Buy blank Boges and juice separately and fill your own- very easy to do. Afterwards, if you wish, you can buy add on tanks for less than $15.00 BUT tanks have a learning curve. Riva PV or KGO 1100 mAh would be good choice.
Good Luck, Vapoor.

Thanks all for the fast responses . I wanted to add I have become accustomed to using cartomizers , should I stick with a kit that is cartomizer based or look into atomizer & cartridge combos?

I'm a 510 girl. I strongly recommend you each get your own kit of 2 batteries, etc, even if you decide to go with the ego or riva (sharpie size one and also 510 threaded). it will work out much better, you won't have to wait for a battery to charge and maybe smoke while waiting and you will have backups. chargers go bad too. I would never have less than 4 batteries and 2 chargers and I'm the only vapor in the house. and I have MANY more backups than that lol. as said above, you can get a kit for 30.00.
the initial cost may seem high, but I couldn't buy 2 cartons of cigs for 60.00!
and you didn't ask but I slowly cut back on my cigs while vaping instead of stopping cigs cold. if I wanted a cig I would vape a while and then if I still wanted one I had it. in less than a month I was down from 40+ cigs a day to about 10 a day....

Start with a 510 kit and go from there..cartomizers are probably the best way to go but try both and different style cartomizers/atomizers..there are a of of choices and I suggest you just pick one and go from there. Don't forget to read the reviews and watching videos on YouTube helped me greatly in making my choice of where to start. This site is very helpful too. I recommend you checkout MadVapes.com they seem to be reasonably priced and usually get the order to you quickly. I haven't had many issues with them and when I did have an issue it was resolved very quickly...

You can use both cartomizers or atomizers on the same battery. For every day use cartomizers are far more convenient. It is also good to have an atomizer or two at the same ohms as your cartomizers. Atomizer are great for testing new juices. This way you aren't filling a cartomizer with a juice you don't want to vape and it is bound to happen. Dripping will also tell what a juice should taste like.

Thanks , I believe I have decided to go with a 510 kit , now I am trying ( too hard ) to find the best deal so I can get some trial juices and a few accessory. I am leaning towards MadVapes as it has been recommended a lot. You know after thinking about it spending money on this is a matter of perspective , My wife and I were spending around $10 a day on cigs so overall spending a little now will save a lot in the long run.
Wonder if anyone takes PayPal ? I have some extra money saved in that account but from what I have read no one does , IDK.
I have been looking through the ECF classifieds as well , Man I like this forum:D.

Heaven-gifts and HealthCabin both accept Paypal, and they're both decent sites if you can be patient with delivery (although they're better for bulk orders due to cost of that).

I'd recommend getting just a single normal atty alongside your cartomisers. Carts can die unexpectedly and if you ever get a bad box you'll wish you had a backup. A normal atty and cart (or just dripping) will mean you have a safety net if things do go wrong, and the same goes for having a second battery.

I would highly recommend the Rivas(650mah) or (even better)the Kgos(1100mah) over the Egos because of better batt power...forget the atty/carts for anything besides trying new flavs and skip the dual coil cartos...just weak on a 3.7 batt...I do recommend cartos, either Boge2ohm or Smoktech 1.7ohm Xl cartos...both of these are single coils...the Boges hold 1ml of juice and have a tighter draw to them...the Smoktechs hold 2ml of juice and have a somewhat airier draw to them(they are my favs at 3.7v).....
madjack:2cool:

p.s. liberty-flights.com seems to have the best prices on Rivas and hoosierecigsupply.com for the Kgo...there are other vendors for both of these that come close in price..........mj
