I bought bunch of DIY gear several weeks ago but been too busy with work. Beside, I still had a few dozen juice bottles from last purchase and wasn't going to start DIY for another few weeks. Starting last week, 12mg nic (my usual level) was hitting too hard and starting to become uncomfortable. So, I decided to bite the bullet and start DIY over the weekend. But mainly to reduce the nic level of existing juice. After mucking around for few days, I can't decide which is more fun. Building coils or mixing juice. :D

Made various PG/VG mix and added them to a few juices at varying ratio. Too my surprise, I was getting awesome flavor and vapor even at 1:0.75 ratio (1ml juice + 0.75ml additional base). And the throat hit is perfect! Needless to say, I was getting full flavors at 1:0.5 and 1:0.25 ratios as well. Looking to bump all of them at 1:0.75 ratio, I am literally getting close to double the juice! :D

I think "cutting" the existing juice with additional base might be a good beginners experiment. Since you have a reference of how the juice suppose to taste like, you are forced to focus on the base. (which I think is important and not enough attention is given)

Ok, now to the point on another reason for DIY. I had 2 x 30ml Helios Gold. I took one bottle and chopped it into 3 x 10ml bottles for mixing. After first two bottles, I found out that I only had 4ml left and got ripped off of 6ml!!! Since not many people actually measure their juice bottles after purchase and lots of bottles don't come with seal, it would be easy to get ripped off. So glad that I decided to DIY going forward!!

I discovered that I actually like the plain (unflavored) 50/50 - 1.2%. I was looking for a baseline and tried it without any flavoring added. Boy, was I surprised!!

I also have discovered that I can extend some of my store-bought juices by about 50% by adding unflavored 50/50 - 1.2%. There seems to be little reduction in the taste.

Welcome to the world of DIY!
I also started by tweaking store bought juice. I did it because it was crappy tasting, and cost too much.
Once I ran out of my store bought and was starting from scratch, I noticed the difference. Everything from the taste of higher quality Nic, to being able to get more flavor from my own mixes than I ever got from the crap I bought. To be fair, I was buying it from my local tobacco shop because I don't have a B&M nearby.
Have fun with it my friend!

Welcome

Careful not to dilute to much and loose flavor. Your doing the smart thing by dividing your juice into smaller parts of 10ml but you can even divide smaller into 5ml batches for testing.

Thank you all for the welcome/comments.

Wow! It's Danny! :)
I read and re-read your blogs many times and it was very helpful. Thank you!
Yes, 5ml would have been better. I could have made another batch with different base ratio. Lots and lots to learn. :D
But going to take it slow and enjoy every step of learning/mixing process. This is such a fascinating thing, I can spend weeks just mixing bases.

Yeah Zero you will enjoy DIY even more when you start experimenting with different mixing techniques.

Hey Danny and Ann.
I'm having a great time with my Inawera flavors but some of their flavors do not include things like graham crackers for my Gorilla juice recipe. I guess I will have to use TFAs also on that one.

Nothin wrong with that. I happen to really like TFA graham cracker (along with many of their other flavors).

This is what I'm currently working on. A Gorilla Juice:

Could someone give me the substitutes in Inawera for these or a close proximity?

Black Cigar 5%
Coconut 1%
Banana 1%
Cinnamon Danish 3%
Graham Cracker 3%
Butterscotch 1%

This is the Gorilla Juice recipe :D

I find the tfa graham cracker is good for taking the edge off of a tobacco mix. I think I used around 2-3% graham with a 555 tobacco but can't find my scattered notes right now. Food for thought. Enjoy!

Never thought to use Graham cracker in tobacco but I can see it working in certain blends to give it a bit of a back woods spice kick. This just could be the New Acetyl Pyrazine.

I think I will order this one:
E-Flavour Spicy Biscuit 10 ml. Tastes like sweet cinnamon cookie with a bit of ginger, honey and some ground oriental roots. At the end of vape can taste a hint of clove. Very good on VPG base at dosage 6-10 drops on 10ml liquid. Bottle 10/ 200 drops/ with dropper. Produced in EU.
Coconut & Banana
It's going to need tweaking I'm sure.
