PG/VG is 40/60. If you mouth hit, 1/16" will be too airy for you, if you lung hit it is just right. I do both so it works out for me. A lower Ω coil needs more air to produce proper vapor. Think about a 2-stroke engine, if you feed it more juice you need to feed it more air or it will run rich and gunk up faster...
I would start smaller than 1/16th and see how you like it before moving up. If you are on a 2Ω coil, the stock air hole is fine really.

I'm going to have to get some ekowool. I finally managed to pull some strands through a coil and get a decent vape but it still doesn't compare to the cotton yet. I think if I can get two tails instead of one I'll get the juice flow I need.

Also, nice tunes...way to be good to yourself on your journey.

I leave the ekowool uncut until it is installed, I pull the two ends of wick between the posts to the other side of the RM2. Once the coil is where I need it and snugged up in place, I feed the excess wick back through the coil so I only have to trim one end of the wick. One end curves a little inside the juice well and holds down the tail of the other one that is "pointing straight at the edge. This gives me just enough material to hold a good amount of juice. Make sure that you don't block the juice-feed hole.

I've found that 1/16" and .8 ohms works excellently for lung hits, but if you prefer to mouth hit it works just fine like that as well. My first few drags when I wake up are always mouth hits, and it delivers just fine, even with the air. Fire coil, pull into mouth, inhale, and blow out nose while repeating pull into mouth. To each their own, but it's great for me.

Punched out air hole to #54 .055. It is vaping in beast mode now. I might go up to 1/16 a little later but will try #53 first. It wouldn't fit in my cordless drill so I just used my fingers. Next time I won't be so lazy and dig out the pin vice to use. BTW I also do both lung and mouth depending on how I feel at the moment. Thanks eHuman and Duff!

Do you make any preperations like boiling or torching it in advance or is it safe to use right out of the gate?

you can blowtorch ekowool and xc-116 but my idle nature has prevented me from doing so until there is a coil on it. I had an xc wick last me almost 2 weeks of solid abuse, all day every day. It's expensive - a $ an inch.

There is no need to boil it - it is a silica sleeve, which has an unusually welcome side effect - you can push a pin thru it and wrap a coil on top of that which gives it some stiffness as you do so.
