After a month of using the MVP, I'm ready to step up my game and try VW. I've been reading a lot of reviews, and have decided my next purchase will be a Tesla. (the first person to say "Get a Provari" shall be taunted)

The reviews seem generally positive, with the major complaints being about the looks (which I like!) and much whining about the screen being underneath the buttons. Not a deal-breaker for me on either count.

If you've got a Tesla, please chime in. :vapor:

I thought about getting a Tesla, but the screen thing under the buttons in the reviews bugged me. I think they added buttons on the bottom since I got my mod tho, but Im not sure.

If you want a decent VW/VV mod and want something less expensive, try the VAMO 2. I love mine.

iVape just announced the release of the jet black and is discontinuing the black chrome... the buttons are still in the same place.

You may be thinking of the Kamry K200, which some people are calling the "Tesla Clone". Why you would need four buttons plus a fire button is beyond me. What's next? Maybe a joystick or a 10 key numeric pad? ;)

Also, I did consider the Vamo, but I really like the alien look of the Tesla.

The button placement may be a bit annoying, but I thought the big thing with VW was that you set your wattage and forget it. No more dialing in your voltage every time you change delivery devices was the point of VW, from all the hype. At least I can use it in VV mode if I find VW relatively useless.

The VAMO has VW. And yes, you can set the wattage and forget it.....for the most part.

I find that different devices and/or different juices might need tweaking up or down tho.

My black Tesla has worked well for me. Easy menu system, decent build quality, smooth bottom cap threading, and the two left and right buttons make it easy to check battery voltage and resistance easily. The only niggles are my Kangers don't fit and the placement of the screen but, for me, neither are deal breakers. Overall it's a pretty decent device...for the money...if you like larger mods.

I quite like my Tesla. I am using the gun metal with VapeOnly BCCs (with black end caps). The unit is well built, the menu system is simple but covers all I need it to do - as mentioned above I like the ease in battery and ohm checking, the threading is smooth, and I do really like the spring loaded pin (not a fan of pulling pins). I do like the unique look to it as well.

The thing I like the most though is the way it feels in hand. The flattened sides fit well... it is just comfortable to hold and use.

Initially, having the buttons above the display was a bit of an annoyance but, after using it, I am used to it. I also think that the control buttons were placed above the display to make it easier to avoid them while vaping. I did notice that while holding the unit and pressing the activation button, my thumb was where the buttons would be if they were below the display (if that makes any sense). So, definitely less than ideal (until you get used to it) but, it seems to me to be a design decision to improve usage.

I got mine this past Sat and I love it so far. Works great, feels great...however the two things that it has going against it is that it's rather large and it really does look like a dil*o. Everyone I've shown it to (and I mean everyone) says that about it and we all have a good laugh.

If you don't mind that, it's a great mod. I have it set at 10w on my smoktek 1.5ohm attys with a tank and I'm golden.

Oh so you mean these two? I like the black chrome so much I had to get the chrome to keep it company. I really like the menu system. So easy compared to others. I hear a lot of folks not liking the menu buttons over the top of the screen. Yea I agree it could be reversed and the buttons at the bottom, but once you got it set, how many times do you need to see the screen? I set mine at between 7-8 watts (when in that mode) and never look at the display again.
Not to start any hate with anyone, but I'll take the Tesla over the Vamo any day. I've got 2 Tesla's and use to have 2 Vamo's. One had the chip go out at 3 months old. Also am not a big fan of a device that is press fitted together. If I want a mini mode mod then I'll use a mini. If I want a larger mode then I'll use a larger one. (meaning 18350 vs 18650).
My biggest issue is the chip in it that lets it only fire at 33 or 37 htz. Depends on which review you watch.
Both vape good but I just like the Tesla more. :2c:

Nice! If I can scrape together a few extra coins, I may spring for the new jet black one iVape is selling... the black chrome will probably be sold out before I have that kind of money to spend again. What tanks are those? I just may dip my feet into the cartotank waters, even though I'm pretty happy with the Protank.

I'll be ordering mine on Friday. I've done a lot of reading about all of the most popular mods here, and the Tesla is the most consistently reliable of all of them. I don't think I'll have to worry about purchasing another in a few months, and I think it's cool that you can't mistake it for another APV. I'll let everyone when I get mine.
Phil=Tesla hater. Lol:)

After about a month of use, I can definitely say I'm happy with this mod. It feels very well-balanced with the protank on top. I usually just use it in VV mode, just a personal preference. As I thought, the button placement is really not as troublesome as some reviewers have said. It's a solid feeling, solid performing mod that I would purchase again.

It would be nice to see more Tesla owners chime in. The ones that own and have used one for longer than a few weeks. I would like to know how owners feel about it compared to other mods that have been around awhile. :)

I definitely agree with you. But if you read the owner specific sub forums you can see that the reliability on the Tesla is much better than the other mods, except for the Provari. I've searched here and on google and found very few problems, and only a few that required a return. I'm going to ask the forum owner to start a Tesla sub forum for owners. Then we can help each other out like they do on the other sub forums. :)

Well, I did it. I ordered my Tesla and batts today from iVapes! I chose the Jet Black one. I wanted the Black Chrome, but I need to save where I can! I also ordered a Jwrap- S3 ! Next on the list in the near future is to get a cartotank setup. For the time being my smoketech 2.0 dual coil cartos from The Vapor Room will have to do. I hope to find a setup that will allow me to use my personal metal purple delrin drip tip instead of a permanent one. Hmmm I wonder if my old 510 pink Riva cone will work on the tesla. If so, combined with the Jwrap, my purple drip tip, and the pink cone could make it look pretty. If not, no biggie.

I shall be stalking the mail man come Monday since I added on the priority shipping.

Dannyboy5691- I ordered mine! Did you order yours yet? :D

I'm actually ordering mine as soon as I post this. Lol.
You've made a good choice. The black one is very nice. I'm getting the Chrome one, some juice from Mt baker vapor and maybe a Jwrap. Looks like well both be stalking the mailman on Monday. Lol:)
