So since I have started vaping. Been 1 1/2 years now. Go me! I have always been on a quest for the biggest airflow, the biggest clouds, the biggest power, etc etc etc...

I was a mouth to lung hitter when I was a smoker, but since vaping I adjusted myself to doing lung draws due to wanting clouds.

Past few days for some reason I have just for some reason grown extremely tired of big airflow and big clouds.

With all these new tanks coming out that are catered specifically to cloud chasers (ie Youde Goblin, Silverplay, lemo, billow etc) It kind of makes me feel wierd that I am going the other direction.

I actually taped shut my rogue RDA afc to the point where it feels like im hitting a 0.5 / 1mm airhole. Reminds me of back in the day when genesis tanks were popular like the RSST, that sort of draw.

Built a single coil for once and I am enjoying myself without the need for a huge lung pull and clouds.

Anyone else feel the same?

Closest I've gotten to cloud chasing, which isn't very close at all, is running my mvp2.0 at 11W with a dual coil Emow. And the size and thickness of the clouds beats my protanks, but it get's gross to me after awhile. As long as it gets the job done and keeps me away from analogs though I'm a pretty easy guy to please. I don't need any of those 150W batteries that can pump out room filling clouds.

You're not alone. Personally the whole cloud chasing huge airflow phase for me weened out pretty quick. Started RDA's in November of 2014, and it tapered off towards the end of December. I rather vape on 510 driptips now that have a good mouthfeel rather than a widebore tip. I also am preferring tighter more flavorful draws, rather than the wide open non resitricted inhales. I have shelved most of my huge airflow widebore attys for most of the day /mutationxv2/darkhorse. The vape quality is just much better when the amusement of cloudchasing dies down.

yeah its kind of wierd i dont even look for the newest biggest airflow or cloud making machine.

I look for QOL (Quality of Life) improvements. Like no leaking, top fill tanks, or easier rebuilding. Only reason i bought the rogue RDA was because of its top airflow, which means no leaks. But the AFC on it is so pointless thats why I had to tape it off.

Now I dont know if I should buy a kayfun v4. I have all these monster airflow drippers around me, maybe I should tape all their airflow shut too lol.

I just find it easier to lung hit on the lemo.
Very airy and for me it promotes breathing in.

KFL+v2 is tight and thats easier to do mouth to lung for me.

So the air flow and ease to breathe in dictates mostly what i do.

ETA - as for cloud chasing - not my thing - vapor comes out its good enough. Nice for some visual/mind effect to have some vapor.

Use to watch my breath on a cold day as a kid but it only interested me for a minute.

I'm actually really digging the big lung hits. I'm not doing it for clouds. I'm doing it for a very rewarding vape and flavor.

Vaping 12mg at 42w on my iPV2S and Atlantis on the largest air hole is a great feeling. Quick 1 to 2 seconds hit and I'm golden. 24mg through my Nautilus and MVP 2.0 and I'm still lacking that satisfaction of a cigarette.

So for anybody who has not vaped Sub-OHms yet, it's not about clouds for some of us and thanks to this setup, I'm no longer cheating with my 1 to 5 cigs a day.

i actually vape subohm regularly. mostly due to the fact that I can take longer drags because the thicker gauge wire heats up slower. I actually use 1.0-2.0 ohm coils for the quick 1-2 second drags because they heat up quicker. I actually can produce more vapor with higher resistance because it heats up quicker and burns the juice faster  its just not a 'satisfying' vape for high resistance I found. Then again I use a VV/VW device, with a mech mod the only way to get more power out of the mod is subohming, high resistance on a mech wont produce more vapor, but on a VV/VW! The clouds just continously flow because of how quickly the wire heats up at high wattage.

How much nic are you using? I want to hit longer but my nic level makes me cough with longer pulls.

i am doing DIY eliquid using a nicotine base of 24MG, but i mix in around 20-30% flavoring so its diluted to less than 24mg. Personally for me, I found the lung hits harsh if your inhale technique doesnt match the setup, the nicotine level has a lesser effect when compared to the heat of the inhale. If I run a high power setup I let in more airflow and inhale deeper to cool down the cools. With my 0.5-0.7 subohm coils though, I am using 22-24gauge kanthal which heat up really slow at 30watts which is around 4.4.5V, since they heat up slow I can take longer draws and dont have to worry about them getting too hot too quick. for a 1.0+ohm setup with 28+gauge kanthal at 30ish watts you have to take real wide open airflow lung hits for 1-2 seconds for it to not be harsh due to the coils heating up asap as soon as you hit the button.

these are all single coils btw, i dont do many dual coil setups.

I have been on the Atlantis for about 3 weeks now. I do love the big clouds easy draw, but was not accustomed to lung hitting. I need something a little smoother first thing in the morning.

I found that using the smallest air hole and switching out the big stock drip tip with a smaller nautilus drip tip really works well. I still get an a more airy draw than the nautilus, with better flavor and vapor but dont have to take huge lung hits. The juice lasts much longer that was as well.

Now once I have had my coffee I put on the big drip tip and have the airflow wide open. Its nice to have the option. Atlantis is a great tank!

I started vaping about 2 years ago. I used to mouth to lung all the time. Yes including with an RSST. But i started to straight to lung inhales when i started using drippers and havent really looked back. Its been about a year since then. I dont see myself stopping anytime soon. I think the flavor is better from lung inhales too.

How does one get "better flavor" with a lung hit? Our taste buds are in our mouths and lung hitting pretty much bypasses that part of vaping altogether. Unless you're goal is to get the flavor after inhale which seems odd to me. Also, when I perform lung hit, I get no throat hit. In fact, I barely even know I've taken anything in save when I exhale a huge cloud of vapor. This is experienced both on a Mophisto with a .7 build AND on an Atlantis. I just don't get the appeal aside from huge clouds.

The closest I got to "cloud chasing" was with an Aspire Atlantis at cca 30W. It took me only a few puffs to decide it's not for me. I vape Nautilus Mini @ 10W, mouth to lung short puffs (2-3 secs) at largest air intake hole. I could reduce power and airflow but I would need longer puffs (5-8 secs), I decided it's faster / more efficient / more consistent they way I'm now doing it.
