Anyone else get tired of lung hitting / cloud chasing?

I didn't intend to get into cloud-chasing. I am more of a flavor junky. I have played with the idea as far as an rda and some techniques, but my normality is flavor. I do like something of a cloud because I can further smell the flavor. I guess I am in the middle when it comes to having clouds. I tinker and it is an interest in the hobby.

I have about 10-12 RTA, 3 rda, and Nautiluses. The Nauties and RTAs do fine for me. RTAs are flexible and I can "tune" them. But, the Nauties seem to work fine, too. I went on a learning/trying binge and so bought RTAs. I still run 7-8 flavors at a time and it is a mix. The RDAs are my "treats" for my best flavors, but I only use them when relaxing at home.

I'm pretty content with my set ups, which are all variations on the same theme. Prometey v1 which is a tighter draw with a 1.2ohm to 1.5ohm coil on a mech mod. I have a couple of Taifun GS's in reserve running the same coil, one set up as a dripper for when I want a change of pace. I like looking at clouds but my set ups don't make big ones. I vape to taste.

How much nic are you using? I want to hit longer but my nic level makes me cough with longer pulls.

it seems the more power the coil gets, the less nicotine you need. it used to be only mechs that would do it via sub ohming, but a lot of the new mods out there can get a 1.0 coil just as hot or hotter...

that being said... i can't drip anything higher than 6 mgs nic and sometimes 6 is too much. i mean i can use 12 mg nic.. but its very short hits and very infrequently and will be really harsh.

another thing to do is up the VG percentage in your liquids. (although only so much if using tanks) as it helps smooth out the vapor and produces more vapor... and the size of your pulls gets bigger to produce enough satisfying throat hit.

Not really a cloud chaser but am a lung hitter and am very content with my Odin/Reo combos with some .7 duals micro coils. The taste is awesome and they produce a nice bit of vapor and I couldn't ask for more. Although if I load up one with a near max or max VG juice (only have 1 or 2) the clouds are kind of ridiculous and that's fun sometimes. But usually am vaping a 65 PG/35 VG mixes.

Oh, I do have another quick question and not sure where I should post. I thought everyone would be THRILLED that I quit smoking cigarettes, but noooooo. In walk the little Miss Perfects that say "I knew somebody who did that and actually burnt their lungs". Really? Can that happen? Of course she didn't have details, just the episode to tell me I should stop everything, which I'm not. But has anyone else heard of this?

I just picked up a Hobo RDA in December and I must say that I am enjoying it. I like the flavour it gives and the clouds I can make. I am currently using it on an eVic Supreme 25W @ .55ohm.

I still use my AEROtanks and Nautilus, but not constantly any more.

For the first couple of weeks I enjoyed making clouds, just to try it out. Got close to getting kicked out of the house. Now though, not so much. The novelty for me wore off rather quickly.

Seeing as I have just ordered my first collection of DIY supplies, I am now looking for flavour. A nice slow warm hit full of flavour.

If I can make clouds, great. If not, I am not worried. I will always carry one cloud mix on me, for when the time is right.

I find it a bit uncomfortable going into B&Ms and looking at a DNA40 for a RDA. Not that the shops mean to , but I feel like they are steering me towards a MECH MOD. I am looking for flavour with clouds, not the other way around.

The marquis RDA is a flavor chaser for me. The air holes are just barely big enough to do a lung hit and you can close them off.
I run 24ga .3 ohm, 3.5mm coils and organic cotton wicks. Even at 5% flavoring its amazing. I would recommend if you have $145 to spare.

You could pick up a marquis clone from fasttech for about $10 but I don't believe it has the PEEK insulators, which could pose a problem if it gets too hot.

Howdy,
But really could spend all day saying this is better then that, but in reality I can't recall a mid range atomizer that does not have adjustable airflow for a reason. The industry realizes that not everyone likes the same thing (This came about 2-3 years ago) and any quality atomizer will have adjustable airflow.
The Mutation X shouldn't be shelved but rather taken off and played with (You can put a regular 510 DT in the Wide bore DT if you like, I prefer using just a reducer ring/stubby DT for this).

Flavor increases with decreased airflow, to a point. What I'm saying is when you get 100% flavor then there is no way to get 101% or above. Basically decrease airflow until flavor stops intensifying and you've reached peak on that game.

Not everyone that Sub Ohm's cloud chases and not ever cloud chaser likes large airflow mods. This is a connect the dots assumption, I know lots of cloud chasers that pick up their Russian 91% with airflow locked out and vape happily away, every now and then its nice to have your heads in the clouds but its good to be on the ground as well.

I do however like mods that have the options to go both ways, if I want a large airflow cloud maker then I've got it, but at a twist I can go back down to my happy median point or lower. Price wise why have 2 mods when you can have 1 that does the work of both, this just makes sense to me really when I'm trying to slim down on my vape budget (I own a Mutation X v2 but with a simple twist of the top cap I can restrict it down to lighter then my igo-w stock, and its set-up for single coil if I want to restrict it even further).

Anyways, not saying that anyone in this is wrong or right, just saying that with todays options there is no reason to point out that not everyone likes the same vape as we already know that, and so does the industry at large.

I use RDAs on mechanicals a lot, and I couldn't blow a cloud in my dreams. (not after smoking for as long as I did)
I was using mechanicals long befor RDAs or sub ohm vaping even existed, and I use RDAs (A7) because they don't even make my favorite atomizer anymore.

I have been on the Atlantis for about 3 weeks now. I do love the big clouds easy draw, but was not accustomed to lung hitting. I need something a little smoother first thing in the morning.

I found that using the smallest air hole and switching out the big stock drip tip with a smaller nautilus drip tip really works well. I still get an a more airy draw than the nautilus, with better flavor and vapor but dont have to take huge lung hits. The juice lasts much longer that was as well.

Now once I have had my coffee I put on the big drip tip and have the airflow wide open. Its nice to have the option. Atlantis is a great tank!

I ordered one too. It took me a long time to get "into" lung hitting and I like it, but I find myself now going back and forth on my work rig (MVP2.0 and Nautilus) between lung hits and mouth to lung. Lung hits when I need nicotine and mouth to lung when I just want that feeling of smoking with the throat hit. This combo helped me reduce my nic level from 12mg to 6.

    I luv my RSST :)

I am surprised that so many folks here are still on Genesis style atomizers. If it works for you than great, but KF clones and their variants (Orchid, Billow, etc) are so cheap now and work so much better it's just a surprise. Whatever keeps you off the real thing though.
