My hubby is so happy with me vaping every time he looks at the bank account. He says, "order what you want". But what I really want is to save up for a vacation or something nice for the house. A bedroom set or huge TV. Or a huge TV in the bedroom.

No rule says that any money saved must be spent on vaping. It's all about a better lifestyle.

I at least like to keep an inventory of my Vaping related expenses. After I noticed that many users here have those little banners that show how much they've saved by not smoking analogs anymore, and how many cigs they've avoided, I took it a step further. I put together a spreadsheet that would make many financial calculations related to my vaping. If anyone is interested, I can share it with you, I can either try to post it in my profile if I can figure out how to do that, or I would gladly send it to someone via email. Just PM me if you are interested. Keep in mind, you'll have to do some modifying of it and enter your own info to let it make the calculations applicable to you. This is what it looks like: SpreadSheet_Graphic.jpg

At this point, now that I have a bunch of batteries and protanks, I want to limit it even more. I tried to spend less than half my cigarette allowance for awhile, and now that I have what I need for at least a couple months, I'm only spending it on ejuice, aiming to spend about $70 a month. I can do it!

I like this number. I thought about $50 earlier today, and I'm not sure that would be enough until I get into the DIY world. $70 is about 1/3 what I would spend on cigarettes, so that seems like a fair number to shoot for.

I was spending about $100 a week on analogs between my wife and I. So we figure if we are under that than we would be fine and so far so good, I got into DIY and rebuilding coils so I am way under that budget, as a matter of fact haven't even gotten close. Not saying it will work for everyone or that it is perfect, but working out so far. Keep vaping and have fun!

i have a strict " if i want it i buy it " budget , because if i don't ill kick my self in the ... for not buying it. haha . plus you can always make more money so why not just be happy and vape .. this method seems to work very well for me :p

that's great!

my favorite line is "you might as well spend it, you are not going to be the first to take it with you!"

I spent about 200$ a month on analogs perhaps more. They are relatively cheap still in Oregon so I saved a lot compared with places that are 9-10$ a pack. I have spent about 1000$ getting started and will probably spend another 1000$ in the 1st year of vaping. So I should break even, BUT I will have multiple mods, tons of tanks and batteries and all of the supplies to make juice for a LOOONG time. Thats when I will budget in order to save. I do like all the fancy mods but don't ever see myself spending 4-500$ on a shiny tube.

Oy gevalt! Smokes cost $0.65 a pack when I started. I remember having to pay $0.90 from a cigarette machine(!) in a Chinese restaurant in NYC in 1982; I rejoined my friends at the table and vowed that if they ever hit a dollar, I was gonna quit.

I kept my word. It just took me 31 years to get around to it.

lol. Well when I was a kid you could buy a wife for a nickel and... Seriously, that tax hike in MA went into effect today. (You all can blame me for mentioning it. The radio must have been listening.) "Real" cigarettes have now hit double digits and are well over $10.00 a pack. I really do feel for anyone still chained to smoking.

Heard nothing but great things about the Provari. I am into mechanicals right now, but love my vv/vw.

The Provari I'm sure is awesome. But the price for it is way to much money. My suggestion is to get a VAMO ver: 2, not the 3. Under $45 and does the exact same thing but has everything with it. you can buy almost 5 VAMO's for 1 Provari.

Hmmm Vape budget......Just saying

The reason my numbers are a bit higher than they could be right now is a modest paranoia regarding what the FDA may or may not do regarding deeming. I have been stocking up more on liquids, but not trying to go all "Y2K end of the world gotta buy a gasoline powered fridge and a cow" crazy either.

No matter, what I'm stocking up... it's not like it's going to go bad. Can't say that about 1 year old cigarettes though. Stale cigarettes - GACK!

And then there's that whole ebb and flow of purchases. In the budgeting world it's called "spaving" - spending to save money. When a sale hits on stuff I need/like I spend a LOT more. Then I might not buy anything at all for a couple months - and I do mean nothing at all. People on a tight budget need to adjust to this. In the end you can come out ahead even better. Waiting until the last minute when you are down to the last "anything" means you pay what the market will bear, plus overnight shipping. Not a good way to approach vaping spending.

I used to spend $300 a month smoking 2 packs a day of generics. At the end of August, it will have been 30 months. That's $9,000.

I've spent about half that much, and most of that was in the first year and a half. But, it would have been more if my finances hadn't changed so drastically. So many shiny things!

Right now, I'm mostly interested in keeping well stocked up, just in case of FDA apocalypse. Plus a little experimenting now and then. I spend no more than $100 a month even including my once a year tax refund amount.

I guess it's time for me to change my signature!

Smoking cost me a little over fifty bucks a month; I know that sounds shockingly low but I was rolling my own. I'd like to spend no more than that on vaping but so far, I'm failing miserably.

I resemble this remark. I too was a roll your own and buying the best of the best (Peter Stokebyes Danish Blend and Beretta tubes) cost me about 88 bucks a month. 2 carton a week smoker.

Well, perusing these posts/threads, I've kinda made friends and tend to agree with opinions on these forums with the likes of Billbeckusa, Thrasher, Ocelot and Baditude....and I find myself playing "catch up". I know that an ego and a protank/evod/dripper is just fine and its all I really need, but its just in my personality to give everything a try for myself and its costing me a bunch of money.

But you know what? I don't care and I am enjoying it. I'm getting healthier every day and am able to help give other newbies advice when I can. And one of the best parts is meeting all of you folks here.

I guess what I'm saying is..... its money well spent any way I look at it.
