I like to shoot as well. The most accurate pistol I ever owned was a 1990's S&W 1006 10mm. I could literally cut quarter inch thick sticks of rebar in half at 20 feet with that pistol. I still curse the day I chose to sell it for college tuition. These days I have a ton more, but I still miss that one.

For CCW here in MN, I generally carry a S&W 442 with +P Gold Dots. I have a Glock 26 I'm fond of, but the snubbie is just so easy to toss in my pocket in a hurry. My wife co-opted the G26, so it isn't really an option too much anymore. I do carry a Colt .45ACP CCO with some regularity in the winter as well, but even with its lightweight aluminum frame it feels like a boat anchor compared to the 442.

Hi boys,

So glad to find this thread!!!

We moved back from Europe a few years ago. My poor husband left his Browning 9mm with a friend in TX before we left, and it has been a nightmare getting it back now that we live in CA. So for Christmas this year, I bought him a sweet customized grip AR 15 and a gorgeous H&K P30. He loves them.

Also picked up a starter 10/22 for my son and a small Ruger .380 for myself. We sold my Beretta Bobcat .25 before leaving...:( Oh, and btw I am 5' tall on my tiptoes and 90 lbs soaking wet!)

No CCW allowed in the land of fruits and nuts, so we are out of luck there. Great suggestion as far as taking a refresher training course though, so thanks!!
We may be the only card carrying members of the NRA within 50 miles of us! :)
May need to move to WY or MT or somewhere in the midwest, although the Northeast seems fairly laid back about self-defense and right to arms. Still, NH seems really cold....

Thinking of getting a reliable revolver or two next. Looking at S&W. Any suggestions would be appreciated, especially something with minimal kickback for me.

Thank you God for a free country!

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Welcome to the thread.

I'm sorry you're in California, but there are still plenty of states left in free America that you can move to, despite what Nanny Bloomberg is trying to do. Which Ruger did you get? I'm assuming by small, you're talking about the LCP or the LC380? I've heard a lot of great things about S&W's revolvers, but I don't own one so I can't make any real suggestions there. You're probably looking for a J frame (smaller frame) - I've heard the 442 & the Bodyguard 38 are both good choices that you may want to look at. Depending on where you're at, there might be a gun range nearby that would rent them out for you to get a feel for them.

LOVE the color!!! So pretty! I bet she loves it! What a great gift. Has she tried it out yet?

Oh yes she has. We went out christmas day and put some lead downrange. Took her a few mags full of ammo to get the trigger pull down, but shes just as good with it now as she is with her lady smith 357(got this for her last christmas)

looks like we are getting half a dozen shotguns from husband's family.
they don't want them; alot of sentimental value for him tho. first antelope, first partridge, yadda, yadda! LOL!
glad they will be from family especially now with the new long gun laws going into effect here in CA...thank you Jerry Brown!

No ma'am we are not. I was raised in arkansas so i learned to shoot and hunt at an early age. I got the gun bug extremely young and started building my collection from then forward. I now teach friends how to shoot safely and responsibly. Being in Cali now, there is an innate fear of guns so i try to squash that with proper training. She grew up around guns but never got into them until we got together. Yes i taught a red headed italian how to shoot, and shoot well. I know, hindsight is 2020, lolol.

And that is a perfect example of the short ... attention span of the people. Moonbeam was ousted from office for completely corrupting the California system and yet, these tree huggin hippies elected him again!!! Thats why we will be leaving this state very soon.

On a rock floating through space
Picked up my 23" barreled 7.62x54R Vepr yesterday. Custom SVD stock is being made for it.

sorry to drag up an older post but I was wondering how this thing shoots? I have been drooling over them for a while, but the whole "underneath the flash its still just a Russian AK" makes me question the accuracy
