Yes, Higher nic= more throat hit in a lot of juices.
Also PG tends to have more throat hit than VG.
That could be some of it as well. I bought some nasty cartos once in a store here once that were unvapable at 24mg. And yet many of the juices I have now at 24mg have much less throat hit. That's why juice reviews are good info here, and on YouTube. Pbusardo, grimmgreen, riptrippers, all have some good reviews to get you started with some reputable vendors. Hope that helps

Carto sounds expensive. I'm trying to ween away from disposables. Hope I'm not missing out. Also, I started with 24mg nic and found the the TH to be less enjoyable than 6mg nic ejuice to vape. Is this normal?

Cartos cost me about 12.5 cents a day for 14 days, 8.3 cents for a 21 day run. Even a $3.00 carto is about 21 cents a day/14 days. Throw in about 75 cents for juice thats works out to 96 cents a day to vape I think 96 cents a day qualifies as a beer budget. Of course that depends on the quantity of beer. Take a sip a day and a bottle could last a few weeks I suppose...:)

There are tons of ways to vape inexpensively. Once you get a device it's just atomizers and juice, none of which have to be expensive.

Want to save on juice? Make your own! I could not stand the price of juice when I started and after buying my third bottle, I shelled out some bucks to invest on ingredients. I've never cared much about the amount of juice I consume everyday since. I've been saving like 70-90%. Try it, folks. You can browse the DIY eliquid section here on ECF and learn the basics. :)

this is my final endeavor once i start getting my gennies working. went from egos and cartos, to vv's and tanks, to mech's and rba's, and now i'm back to mech's and a equal division of tanks and rbas.

i find this thread interesting, because while i have a few $100+ devices, i still wind up going back to a mech and tank that cost me $30 total. now juices are a different story, that's pretty much where most of my money goes lately. but with so many juices out there and me being picky. i tend to spend a lot trying out new ones. right now i only have a handful i vape consistently. if only pluid could be purchased at any time, i'd probably rock that stuff daily. stuff is soooo good.

As with all my hobbies I subscribe to the KISS methodology. Started with a SmokTech Winder VV, Vivi Nova, Evod. Added A Vamo, another Evod & ProTank. Looking @ box mod for a little better portability. Considered the MVP then saw Innokin's new VTR. Waiting for that to be released & then I'm done except for maybe a Protank2 & an Evod or 2 & maybe an atty for dripping & of course juice. I see DIY down the road tho. As always:

VAPE ON !!!! :vapor:

I wanted my new toys so bad and I wanted them fast, but local was just not in the budget. I could not justify that kind of spending when I could order from Fasttech for such a significant amount less money. I spent over $300 when I started vaping to get all the bells and whistles for V2 cigs, but I wasn't satisfied with the KR808 setup. Now, a little over three months later I am starting from scratch with my supplies. I was determined to do a better job researching what I would really need for the long term. I hope I have effectively done that, and done it at a reasonable price.

I got a Vamo V3 kit, and X6 set with X8 atomizer, a kanger protank, a X9 protank, some evods, and a couple of cheap ego batteries for around town.

I've been using the same locally made mechanical mod for over 2 years and bought it used.

A picture of your mod would add value to this thread. thanks.

Might take awhile, that would involve cleaning off my desk. :D

I have a Reo Grand and a Chuck that are both a couple years old. I have a sentimental attachment to the Chuck - it was a gift, and the Reo I use pretty much every day.

Edit: I do have a lot of mods. Like shoes, I like variety and like to try new things now that I've been vaping for awhile.

But I did wait until I had been vaping for awhile to see what I liked and what was important in a pv for me. I happen to like bottom feeders.

I've never regretted a pv or apv purchase. E-liquid, is a different story.

I'm interested in the x8. How does the vape compare to the evod btw? I tried to save money switching over to vaping. I only smoked half a pack of reds per day prior. Wife is going to be upset when her credit card statement comes home. Need to start brewing my own moonshine.

The X8 is a nice little carto tank, excellent for the money. Fill hole and another screw to hold the carto. Different. Doesn't leak (thus far).

My X8 came in a set I bought. I oly got to use it for a few hours before the carto went out in it. I read that the ones that come with them are not great. I guess I got an especially bad one. I loved it while it lasted. I haven't tried anything else yet. I should have my evods and protanks tomorrow, though. I am really excited to get my new toys.

Yes, I forgot that. The carto that came with the X8 needs immediate replacement. I use boges. It wasn't like a boge.

Dude, I am a month and a half into vaping. The blu was my starting point. I quickly took it back to walgreens and told them it just sucked. They gave me a full refund and a 20 dollar gift card for store credit! Very nice company, walgreens is. Then I bought an ego twist and vivi nova, spend about 40 bux on that setup...got a kanger mt3 as well, only 5 bux. I say, get yourself something you can hold onto and order from Fasttech, because my order SHIPPED on the 4th and it still not here in VA...hopefully by this friday I'll get my vamo v3, but I'm using an iTaste MVP atm and for two days so far, it is still green with battery life...crazy long 2600mah. I think you will find the most expensive part being the testing of juices because this isn't a cigarette, you DO NOT know what you really like...I love fruity drink, desserts, and candy, but I almost HATE fruity vapes and prefer a dark tobacco undertone with anything but fruit on top (ESPECIALLY DIAMOND VAPES cRazY4you, an RY4 that tastes like waffles). Good luck on your adventure!
