I was wondering if there were any TED watchers here? If you don't know the website, its: TED: Ideas worth spreading One of my favorite websites and time killers. Instead of getting addicted to today's popular TV shows, I get lost in the TED archives every once in a while. I make a big bowl of popcorn and lay down and pick the ones that interest me. For those that don't know, TED is a website full of speeches about physics, astrophysics, psychology, sociology, philosophy, science, education, philanthropy, geology, and the list goes on and on. You will never get bored. If you enjoy learning new things, or learning about topics your interested in, TED is the place to go. Right around when my eyes get heavy and I know I should be closing them and going to sleep, with work in the morning, I pop on a TED video, I tell myself I'll only watch one, and I'm stuck on the TED website for hours. lol.

The title says it all. TED: Ideas Worth Spreading

So, I'm spreading them. :p

One of my favorite videos on the front page right now is the "Shape Shifting Dinosaurs?" video. I can definitely recommend this one to my ecf friends. Its a great video about a paleontologist that has actually discovered that MANY of the dinosaurs we know today, are actually NOT dinosaurs at all... I don't want to spoil the suprise, so please check it out for yourself. TED: Ideas worth spreading

I was in the military in the late 80's. My job made me a target for terrorism... oddly, they sent an ex CIA guy to teach us terrorism 101. Most of what I learned gave me a view that was contrary to the popular view in the post 9/11 US.

This guy knows what he's talking about. It's about an hour. It's worth watching.

I'm 28 minutes into this video and I agree that it's a good watch if you are interested in the minds of people who were directly involved in the scenario leading up to 9/11 and afterwards. He is very careful to give enough information to paint the picture without giving out secrets. Still, it provides insight into Bin Laden and al Queda and the role of various countries surrounding the Iraq and Afghanistan. He talks a good bit about the reasons that we are looked at as meddlers in the ME.

I'll finish it in the AM.
