Apparently a man has died from vaping in worlds first?

Journalism, bah! Too bad for those of us listening, but I guess it's a living for the journalists, though...

Nobody ever knows what other people do with their vapes or what they put in them. All I know is, after a bit over six years of vaping (homemade and unflavored) and being smoke-free, I don't hack my lungs up every morning.

I met some guy in a dark alley at midnight... never met him before, had no reason to trust him, looked shady as heck, but I bought this vial of "vape" stuff from him. Turns out it's rocket fuel, draino and ammonia. Got sick and went to the emergency room. Man , people are really getting stupid (actually always were) and the rest of us are suffering from all this stupidity! If someone gets a bottle of "everclear" and lights a smoke while drinking it, then burns to death, do the news headlines say anything implying that smoking tobacco or drinking alcohol are dangerous? NO, but if the guy happened to also be vaping it's all over the news... totally related to vaping (actually he wasn't even vaping at the time, but had a "juul" in his pocket) I apologize for the rant, but noticed all the news articles recently and my head is about to explode!

Years ago, I went to the drug store to buy some 96% proply alcohol. I had to go to the pharmacy desk and ask for it. They asked me "what are you using it for?" I was confused... it used to be on the shelf with the 70% rubbing alcohol. They explained it might be used for injecting drugs... I laughed and told them "I use it for cleaning my tape deck, my VCR, my brakes parts on cars... it's a solvent!" The young girl was quite impressed and seemed assured I wasn't shooting up drugs. LOL.

I like to wear long sleeve sweaters during the Summer when I go into the pharmacy to ask for syringes.
I just go in right after the lab has given me a blood test... fresh needle marks and all (I know, that was way over the edge... but I needed that LOL) Seriously folks, just today I looked at the news (when I check my e-mail each day) and all the vape news stories fried my brain...

I have decided not to click on the vaping stories in my News Feed from the main stream media. I feel like I am doing a small part to not give them clicks!
The “main stream media” generally lies less than the non “mainstream” media in my experience. It’s not zero though. A lot of the really bad vaping articles I’ve seen recently have had bad headlines that didn’t agree with the body copy. Apparently there are some rules still in force in places. The non mainstream stuff generally never had any rules to begin with though.
It’s been a repetitive thing I’ve seen lately. Complaining about the imperfect nature of a system but the extolling changing to another one that is actually much much worse.

Some are vaping oil, ... oil etc. our lungs cannot handle oil.
The problem seems to be the word “vape”. It refers to a methodology rather than a material. It used to be there was only one material and differentiation was unimportant. This is no longer the case. All the problems seem to be “vaping” creepy materials. We may need a new word to define both material and methodology

True! Remember when we stopped using e-cig because it was too cigarette like and everyone jumped onto the vaping train? Now the term vaping has it's own problems! LOL so new term- NICE "Nicotine Inhaler (with) Contained Electronics" LOL

The headline of the article usually doesn't represent the true content of the body of the article. [emoji16]

Didn’t used to be that way. It started with tabloid rags. They’d have one person to write the article but a whole team of different people to write the headline.

That’s actually the least awful option I’ve seen so far.

They told me my heart attack was due to my love of cheesecake, bloody rare steaks and basically a stick of butter in every good meal. If I ever told them I vaped ( I never did) they probably wouldn't have mentioned that cheesecake.

So vaping cheesecake flavour must be 110% fatal. Thank goodness I'm lactose intolerant!

lolol, I had that same problem many years ago, I asked if water had the same controls and only received a blank stare in return.
