I see so many of you mixing many different kinds of things. From pineapple to cinnamon to smokey and fruity.
It was like that for me my first 6 months because I thought if I liked to eat or drink it, I should like to vape it.

Now I am definitely not or was the master mixer so that probably played a part in why NOW, I only shoot for one type of flavor.
I can't do fruits, can't do just plain smoke, can't do menthol or cool. I always use the same flavors and when I've finally finished tweaking, I'm right back to the one and only flavor that works for me.

You guys make me jealous so many times when I read because I feel like I'm missing out. :?:

The enhancers are what I have my eyes on now but I know if I choose to experiment, I must start measuring exactly:unsure:

What's your one flavor?

So, maybe we are harder on our own creations because they are ours and remembering vendor xxxxx's with more value than it worth.

As an artist, writer, and craftsman, I know that with regards to my own work--and that inlcudes my DIY juices--I am my own most brutal critic.

When creative people get inspiration, they have an idealized goal in their head, and no matter how wonderful, amazing or unique their final product is in the eyes (or taste buds) of others, it RARELY meets the imagined "perfect thing" that they envisioned.

I know that I have several juices that are, by all accounts, REALLY good. I think they are OK, but other people tell me they are amazing. But since they don't meet that perfect, idealized juice I have in my imagination, I don't see it. ;-)

So what it comes down to is if you have ANY taste at all, the juices you make are probably REALLY good, even if you just think they are "meh..."

Lol- I think rockyroad was summarizing, looks to me like some of us are making and mastering different juices in different flavor categories whereas rockyroad can only seem to successfully create ONE category of flavor-type.

I know I am very critical- I have had more than one juice that has been "meh" that I have made, then I let the wife taste it and she loves it. Sometimes me tasting it again after her "OK" makes me look at it a bit differently. I haven't been DIYing for long, but I have come up with 3 simple ADV's for me, and am slowly working up the nerve to try more. I hate wasting juice! I am frugal to a fault sometimes.

I am just as critical of my cooking. I find myself often apologizing for a sub-par meal, to be met with surprised faces and "I really like it!!" (And they have NO problem telling me when they don't lol)

Maybe it's a subconscious "I'm not a pro so it simply can't be the best" mindset.
I know that the ADV's I have are ones I have never tried from a vendor, so maybe I am able to love them so much because my mind can't say "but is it as good as vendor xxx?"

Once I stopped trying to make something similar to what I had bought pre made in the past, I found that I am really enjoying the whole DIY experience. ...

This was what happened to me.

I chased the Perfect Clone to Tasty Finger for months. Then one day I realized that yes, I hadn't actually Duplicated Exactly, but it was So Close what was the difference.

My concern for that situation is, for those of you trying to Clone X, Are you sure you haven't missed

WOW, THat's great, because it wasn't Clone X and clone X was what you were looking for.

Hence the question, Are you giving your creations a fair review ?

Exactly! I like lots of fruits to eat, apple, banana, grape, strawberries but I don't vape fruits because I have never bought one or made one I like. Same with just smokey type, Marl., Winston, RY4 whatever. The only flavor I have ever really wanted to vape is breakfast, pancake waffle syrup butter icing vanilla p butter ....with a smokey type background to it.

Sweet baby Jeebus that off-handed vague flavor description sounds so good. So see? Short-changing yourself in the "credit" department. I can't pull off something like that.

I have a few bottles of vender juice that I really like and as I mentioned earler I try to clone them but in tryng to do that led me to some mixes that I really liked. I find the juices I've tried to clone sit on the shelf and come into play when I want a change of pace. So at this point I find that I use more of my own creations and those vender juices will most likely spoil before I can finish them. What I do find great pleasure in is trying the receipes I've found right here on this forum. Some not so great and some I've fell in love with. For me this is where the real pleasure in DYI comes in.

Absolutely! One of my ADV's came from this forum, and another is a variation of. I love it when people post recipes :) A $30 steak might be great, but in the end most people prefer good 'ole home cookin'!
