@VictorC Thank You Very Much for starting this thread , and @capthook, Thank You for that Video, it gave better insight into not only Phil and Dimitiris, but their new Atomizers and the goals they set for what their finished products would look like and how they wanted them to perform, also what they said about Innokin really fascinated me a lot.

So it's called the "Ares" huh ?? I will definitely have to take a Hard look at them, as it looks like a Top Tier rta aimed at my kind of vaping. :thumb:

yes sorry, i kind of meant it looks to have improvements but whether they/it will end up working better or it being a favourable option over the v2 Siren....time will tell....

I know that this is an older post kydo, but, I am confident that with both Phil and Dimi using them as their main vape (at least I would hope that they are) that it must be a :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs: (10 Thumbs Up) RTA. We all know (at least those of us that watch Phil's videos) that he would compare whatever he was reviewing at the time to the Siren V1, and we would see him vaping on it rather than his beloved KayFun's, so there's that.

Not sure why that bothers you. Lots of products in even grocery stores have the creators names and faces on it if they are/were famous. Paul Newman and Nolan Ryan products come to mind. However, what you buy or don't and why is 100% your prerogative, even if I disagree with the reasons.

Please don't forget Betty Crocker, Aunt Jamima, Uncle Ben, and Capt. Crunch. ;)

They lost me a little bit with the "if you like a super tight draw get a Berserker or Siren 2".

I appreciate the honesty but I'll be holding off on this one a bit to see reviews and perhaps a 22mm version with draw to match the tight ones.

I noticed that being said also Toolman. How I am interpreting what he said is either that the Berserker has a 0.8 mm air hole as the smallest and the Ares has a 1mm air hole as the smallest, or, at the smallest air hole setting the Berserker is tighter due to a tighter fit of the air flow ring/o-ring fit than the Ares. I guess we will have to wait to find out. I have the Berserker (vaping it right now) and usually run it on the 4th hole from the smallest, which would be 1.4mm. I have also tested it fully closed and find that there is a bit of (what I call) Blow-By (not fully sealed off) and can actually get air into the air tube without having to pull too hard, but, on the smallest air hole (0.8mm) I still find it way too tight for me, so it suites me just right. I hope the Ares does NOT let too much air into the air tube when it is supposed to be closed off completely. Some RTA/RDTA's are too airy even when the air is supposed to be closed off completely. My Cthulhu V2 is so airy that I can close off the air flow ring completely and still have too much air coming thru for my taste and the vape that I am looking for, Tolerances just too loose on the fit of the air flow ring.

Katya - do you have one of these sleeves?

Sorry, no. I just found this picture and posted it here because they looked so pretty. I have one, rather pedestrian, faux leather sleeve for my iStick--I bought it a long time ago for a couple of bucks. But nothing this fancy.

But just like 20700 and 21700 batteries, I'm not convinced that new stuff is a better way than the old just because it's new; in this case the decision to go 25mm for the debut.

I will agree with you on that Geezer, hence my preference for mid 60's to early 70's Muscle Cars or COPO's, over what's being built today, I just like the Quality better.:thumb:

as what I have is a stable full of beautiful and beautifully working tanks

All except for that one Siren V1, right ?? :( I do so hope you and it can come to a meeting of the minds so to speak. It is a Great RTA, but sadly, it is finicky to get running properly. As Red Green would say "I'm pullin' for ya, we're all in this together".;)

after I wet the wick I, I prod a mini screwdriver where the cotton may come in contact with the air-hole to make sure there is some space. It's worked for me, but YMMV.

Yes, you are correct. I do that now with all my builds no matter what atty it is, I got into that habit from building the Siren V1 also. It does work folks.

I'm glad Phil is finally wicking it correctly lol. His Siren V1 video made me cringe with all the cotton he stuck in there (then complained about excessive cotton taste hah). I've been saying since the V1 that you only need to have the legs hang down about half-way or just barely touching the bottom...you naturally tilt it when vaping and it stays drenched. Also, surface tension tends to make the juice stick to the wick legs even when juice is low (even though I vape high PG...in other words, not just for the thicker juices).

There's a lot to agree on in this post of yours Zombo. I too use High PG mixes, I make 80 PG/20 VG as my base, really works Great, especially when it's -30°F outside with a windchill of -40°F to -45°F. That will freeze the Nubbins off of just about anything, and turn a High VG mix into something like Molasses in January.

YUK !! I just realized that I have vaped My Berserker Bone Dry, and I'm in Power Mode with a Kanthal build. YUK !!

Kat, here's one that you might think about. The Sinuous P80. It's centered 510, single 18650, made by WisMec, and can take ArcticFox firmware (though that prolly won't tickle your fancy too much), and shorter than a VTC mini. Folks have been putting 22mm-25mm on it with no over hang on the 25mm's. As a matter of fact, I just bought another one, and that makes 2, one Black and one Blue.

Might be repeating myself but 24mm is a totally dumb choice of form factor for an atty directed to the m2l market (ie me). I do not have a single mod out of 20 that will take it. Even 23 would have been better. They have completely missed the point here. Most m2l vaper's will be using 22mm atties (or smaller) and will have a set of mods to match. Larger diameters are indeed very popular in the modern world but have been pretty much reserved for bigger air tanks and thus bigger wattages (dual, triple 18650s etc). Why do I need a dual 18650 mod to vape a m2l tank at 18W or whatever? They seem to have have opted for the wrong compromise imho and i find it a little hard to understand..There will be a lot of these in the classies soon....

I get where you're coming from for sure, but 22mm devices are fading away. The people with a stash of old mods will for sure have lots of 22mm mods laying around. It's just not the path devices are taking right now. Being MTL isn't about an old school way of vaping. I think they are aiming it towards new vapers and trying to sway them from smoking. With that, you have to make a design decision on what is more prevalent on the market right now. That would be 24mm devices, unfortunately for most of us.

So 24mm+ mods are more popular than Istick pico, evic mini etc etc?? You may be right of course but I still think this is a mistake, at least at the moment!!
