Hey bob, You have a Good one. OK ?? Work, this time of the morning and season, in Illinois ?? That has to be about as bad as it is here. I got 30-35 mph winds and 36° but expected to be about 20° by sunup. Not for me. Stay warm out there.

I think you might be getting Cloning mixed up with Evolving Tech Design. Cloning is where one company does a direct 1:1 copy, top to bottom (sometimes even the Logo's and packaging), with inferior materials and craftsmanship, then sells it at a reduced price. I have some of those Clones myself.

Evolving Tech Design is what the Automobile Industry has done for decades. One car comes out with a new and revolutionary design, like Fords Flat Head v8 engine, then the next thing we see, Chevrolet has a V8, then Chrysler is coming out with a V8, all copied in part from the Ford V8, but better. That's Evolving Tech Design.

In the Ares rta I see some Siren, some Berserker, and the way those posts capture the wire (I've seen that before, just can't remember from what atty), and some innovation that advances the whole design to be even better than either the Siren or the Berserker (the juice dams on the deck for one). That's really how Innovation Evolves. Also, a lot of companies figure out how to make the very same item as their competitor, but make it Faster and Cheaper and of the same or Better Quality, and that runs their competition out of business because they now have a product that is too expensive for them to make and they can't keep pace. That's Business.

Hey, I'm not trying to bust your chops, I would never do that, it's just the way I look at all of this, so, I would guess it's a "Point, Counter Point" discussion on what a Clone is.

Just so you know, 1:1 alone does not an infringement make. So while it may be your definition of clone, there is a reason the 1:1 ratio is used to denote an exact replica (clone) versus just saying clone.

I don't think it's a clone....it's "inspired by". As far as it being 24mm....well, I think that's the sneaky part.
That silly Pulse atty did the same thing. Release the 24 first because everyone wants the next new thing. Especially if it has Phil's name on it. Then they'll all buy the 22mm, which is what most seem to want. That way, the sell 2 instead of one.

No, no - you're correct. The new one (just released) is 25mm. To be honest, we're leaning against, strictly because we don't need another.

Wow. Did I just say that?

@Katdarling - I think I might be coming down with something...:blink:

Come on, DP, you know both of you are going to succumb and buy one, just like I will. If it will fit on and Cool Fire IV, don't you still have a couple of those?

Well, I'm an MTL vaper and I just discovered that I own 4 mods that can easily accommodate 24 mm atties: iStick 30, Defender, CoolFire IV and Encom Voidray. I only have one big atty ATM, the 25 mm Engine Nano, and it fits on all of them--a hair of overhang on the iStick 30, but it's a 25 mm atty, so I assume that a 24 will be just fine.

The only MTL vapers who are really affected are the old ProVari users (just the old, tube Provis, BTW--the Radius is 25 mm). So I understand that they are unhappy--there's no way to cleanly fit a 24 mm tank on a Provi tube... Other 22 mm box mods will also work--in a pinch--with an added sleeve.

Oh, and the newer Evic Primo, Pico 25, and Wismec P80 are not geared to cloud chasers at all.

If it will fit the Cool Fire IV, then I'm good. I also have a VOOPOO Alpha One, and I'm guessing it will fit on that one. If not on either, then there's always the new JAC.

It's not impossible, Sir JUMA, but I'm finding difficulty justifying the increased cost for a mod that I absolutely do not need. We shall see though, because we ARE vapers!

I have two CFs remaining, but only the original (Phiniac) CFIV still in use. The TC100 is targeted for assignment soon.

Technically it appears that a 24mm will fit, as it will on the VT75n, but again, I want for nothing. If I were any happier with my vape, they might arrest me (these days, at least).

So the perennial & existential question, "Why?", is the one that is currently dominant.

This too is subject to change ("...VAPERS!").

It was hard to do, but I gave away my two lipo CF4s. But I couldn't bear to give away my MVP20s. I'll probably take those to the grave. I still have two CF4s, the 18650 versions.

I get it, but I just can't get rid of it.

Not the Phiniac stuff. One, because it's Phiniac (miss them - GOOD people), and two because...

It stays until it dies, then it goes up on a shelf. The team sux, but I can like still love the mod & tanks.

I know that this is an older post kydo, but, I am confident that with both Phil and Dimi using them as their main vape (at least I would hope that they are) that it must be a :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs: (10 Thumbs Up) RTA. We all know (at least those of us that watch Phil's videos) that he would compare whatever he was reviewing at the time to the Siren V1, and we would see him vaping on it rather than his beloved KayFun's, so there's that.

yes very true, he did comment he personally had seeping problems with the V1 Siren
so hopefully the "fins" along with anything else that may have needed attention to solve it has been done with the Ares.

Luv the description. This is a car, right?

  • Built-in 4200mAh Rechargeable Battery
  • Customizable Dashboard
  • Interchangeable Vent Covers

A-besto, I heard 22mm attIES are fading away... ;)

(i have extra saran wrap if you need some)

You're certainly more sure that either of us, dear JUMA dahlink. We KNOW you will. (prolly 7 or 8 of 'em, no?) :D

I have but one little CF4, but it's not my most beloved device. I simply would not could not should not buy an oversized atty just for the one mod. Even for my Freds, which are showing signs of geriatrix.

But definitely NOT TO WORRY! DPL and I shall continue along our merry vape way KWITE happily and well.

We'll always have P[rov]aris . . .

I'll not Further Hi-Jack this thread by continuing this debate on Clone vs Not a Clone, it's silly, and you know my position on this, so I won't Beat a Dead Horse. Have a Good One Opinionated, Later.

I apologize to everyone for screwing up this thread, I just got carried away this morning. Sorry about that :(

ZERO apologies necessary! I don't think you either screwed up the thread or got carried away. Your opinions are equally valuable, and I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts!

So there. :p

...and two of my all-time favorites, Steeljan :( and the Go-Go.

I miss them both.

I'll stop now.

I remember watching some of her video's, after searching for something a couple years ago when I ran across her work. I liked watching them (watched several actually) and picked up some pointers too, but by then I was off my Spinner II's but still used my EVOD's periodically on my tube mod's. Is she done making video's ??
