Sorry to say -> getting some tiny weeping from the airflow ring on this build.
Nothing like the Siren, but after 2 tanks it's there.
Maybe just a little light on the cotton, or wick too close to airhole...
(eta: I've got the coil down super close to the airhole - like 1mm)
The Siren V1 seemed to like a 3.0mm coil better.
Too early to say, but for me - the Ares may need a 3.0mm (more room for cotton) to stay dry.

Back to dry airflow ring!
There were a number of stray strands of wick making contact with the diffuser.
Didn't take much to cause dripping into the air tube.
Rewicked - same 2.4mm coil.
Moved the coil up, top of coil about even with top of posts.
And mainly, payed careful attention to keep wick away from the diffuser.
The 'juice walls' help, but user 'error' can nerf this.
Sweet!
So a primary cause of airflow ring weeping is wicking making contact with diffuser.

Thank you! I have been getting a fair amount of leaking from my airflow ring. I was about ready to give up on the Ares. I will try rewicking once again paying attention to the diffuser.

With the Siren V1, those problems were almost 100% solved by making very sure that not one strand of wicking was in contact with the defuser, and that we used either 3.5mm ID or 4mm ID coils to get enough wicking into those big wick holes so as to stop any seepage of juice from the tank up thru any empty space between wick and wick hole slots, plus our coils were at least 1.5 to 2mm above that defuser. I don't know how big the wick holes are in the Ares, but in the Siren V1 those wick holes are 5mm across and about the same from front to back, and for me a 3.5mm ID coil packed snugly with KGD stopped any incursion of juice from the tank into the build deck (without chocking the coil). Remember though, cotton will slightly expand, but Rayon will slightly shrink when wet. Has anyone measured those wick holes in the deck of the Ares yet ?? With the design of the Siren V1/Ares/Siren V2 there are many ways to 'nerf' (as hook so eloquently :thumb: puts it) a build, but when you get it right, it will be a 'Great Vape'.

I ran 2.5mm coils, nothing special, just cotton slightly snug through the coil and never had a problem with 50/50 juice in the v1, v2 or this tank. But I always made sure none of the wick touched the diffuser. I honestly thought this was known with all atomizers. Never want cotton touching anything that can cause the juice to "wick" anywhere we didn't want it to. Liquid takes the path of least resistance. But Koh Gen Do cotton through a 2.5mm coil is plenty for any of these tanks.

:2c:. I too find the Ares nicer overall than Siren 2. Same build, same liquid and my subjective decision before any input from reviews.

Just received drop in coil Zenith and IMHO better vape than either and no futzing. What a nice surprise.

Happy New Year.
I like the Zenith tank but the replacement coils are a little pricey...

About how long do they last @ricks? I'm a little interested in this tank although I don't need it right this second or anything....

I don't have one... I'm interested in it too. I was googling it to find out how much the coils cost. I wonder if the coils could be rebuilt?

I agree.

I have no idea how long they will perform well, though changing once a week was suggested in the instruction video.

The CLR's seem to be popular for rewicking and eventually rebuilding, but for some reason I didn't care for them...too strong? too much? I don't recall.

Someone else will have to disect the coil for rebuild potental. Not my forte.;)

Right now Zenith vape seems to be happy medium between nauti and Ares...which is right up my alley.

They could last weeks with the right liquid. I'm sure I'll be able to rebuild them. I think I need to get one...

Can't speak on coil life yet. Only used it a few days so far on the 1.6 preinstalled coil. So far it's a solid little MTL tank. No leaks, cool top fill, really tight draw on the lowest setting

It might be known to experienced rebuilders, but I have been a drop in coil girl for my 6+ years of vaping. I got the Ares because it was from Phil and Dimitri and was supposed to be easy for newbies to rebuilding. I am still learning all the little tricks. I appreciate all the hints on how to make the Ares work right..

No word from Innokin yet... :(
The experience so far has been...appaling to say the least

I agree, I have not heard a word if they have sent me a new one out, even though I sent my old one back to them, emailed them with a bit of short email 4 days ago on the lack of communication and be nice if someone could get back to me, to let me know if they have sent me one out, and not a word back from them, so not to happy with Innokin right now.
