Does anyone else log in to find no notifications on watched threads, but then sometimes go to the thread and find a ton of activity? There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why the notifications are sporadic.

Anyway:
How did you remove the air diffuser? I cannot see on mine how it comes off. Thanks.
My tweezers are very pointy, and it made easy work of unscrewing it. In fact, it wasn't even tight at all. As I type this, it makes me think I ought to try reinstalling it, but making sure it's tight. I'd removed it because the vape wasn't that dense, but maybe since it was loose, air was escaping around it. Hmmm...But my Doggy is getting most of my attention lately.

Hey, i'm going to buy my first real RTA, and i'm unsure which i should get, the Siren 2 or the Ares? From the look i would prefer the Ares, but i'm scared that the draw might be too loose for me. Is the Ares really that much more airy as everyone tells, or is it just the ones which have the adressed Issues?
Thank you, then i think i can go with the Ares, i'm not in the Team "suck a golf ball through a straw" like on the Innokin Endura, i also Vape the Nautilus on the biggest hole which feels almost perfect.
I'm strictly MTL, and I not only vape with it wide open, I've removed the diffuser. Even then, it's not too loose. I do prefer pretty open. If you're talking about the Nautilus 2, I just tried it- with all holes open, it's very similar to the Ares all open.

I think that Vape industry should Label ALL atomizers with an additional informational warning (on front or back panel), such as;

This Atomizer has a Draw Classification rating of:

Mouth To Lung Cigarette Type Draw
or
Mouth To Lung Looser Type Draw
or
Direct To Lung Restricted Type Draw
or
Direct To Lung Open Type Draw

Just a thought, but sure would help ALL vapers in knowing what they might be getting, before they actually buy it :) . That would be nice, but will prolly NEVER happen. So much for my little "Thought Experiment".:(
Okay, 52- I'll see your label, and raise you: I think they need to hook them up to a pressure guage, and measure the vacuum resistance range. Something like "Infinitely Adjustable from 10-30 psi."
Then we wouldn't rely on their definition, or argue about what constitutes MTL/DTL/RDTL.:)

Edit: I've been asking for this (only on this forum), since I joined, and had to learn to look at an atty & research it to see if it'd be suitable. And now that I've gone further down the thread, I see @soulseek and I are on the same page!

Yea I know, and I understand your post. In all reality though, I don't expect the industry to do anything about it at all, as they don't mind one little bit if they are selling products that the end user will only use once. I was just trying to find as simple of a way as possible that would help the end user, and not be burdensome to the manufacturer, but from the comments I have seen since I put up my post, I don't guess that there is any easy and convenient way for both End User and the Vape Industry to make this happen. It would have been nice though, but it would have to be easy, be quick, make sense to most people, and be inexpensive. While things are better than they once were, I still come across atomizers with No Instructions included at all in the packaging, or so poorly written ones that they are next to useless.

Your Idea would be a lot more precise than mine dawg, but maybe too much for the manufacturer to handle, after all, we are still dealing with some 510 male pins on atomizers being too long, and some 510 female pins having too short of throws in devices, and this has been going on for how many years now, Plus, they still call ejuice "Oil".;)

Absolutely agree. One only has to chuckle (and cuss) reading thru Chinese instructions, or even their marketing to the US to realize that if they won't invest in a single person in the company that can communicate in clear English, they wouldn't invest in another round of testing. But I'll bet the first company that actually quantifies the draw will garner a lot of appreciation and marketing buzz!

I'd be happy if they just showed a exploded drawing of the atty, showing where all the o-rings go.
Give sizes of o-rings and screw specs.
UD used to do this a few years ago.
Can't believe after all these years standards haven't developed.
How hard is it to figure out a male 510 is xxxmm long, female 510 is xxxmm deep.
Driptip is xxxmm wide and xxxmm long, with a xxxmm groove cut to fit a xxxmm o-ring.
This is what the FDA needs to regulate....

You want to talk about a Giant Group Grope, let the FDA in and start it's version of regulation. I know that this isn't because of FDA regulation, but, remember when toilets actually flushed ?? Now a days a lot of times one has to give a "Courtesy Flush", not for our friends benefit, but for our toilet's benefit, so it doesn't plug up from lack of water to work the whole system correctly(EPA). The EPA is sooo happy now with what they have done to conserve water, while we have to stand there, at the ready, with plunger in hand, so we can race into the bathroom to unplug the toilet before it over flows onto the bathroom floor, while the EPA pats itself on the back and tells everyone what a good job that they are doing. If the FDA gets it's meat hooks into Vaping, we might as well all go back to cigarettes, or CE4's and modified flashlights. Sorry for the rant, I gotta go unplug my toilet, the Grand Kids are over.;)

BTW; Isn't a courtesy flush, and a regular flush, using about the same amount of water as it used to in one flush before the EPA started to regulate the amount of water a toilet could use per flush ?? Just wondering here.

Yes indeed about the notifications. Many months ago I posted somewhere about this, and I got the completely silly answer asking if my email address was correct in my profile. Of course it's right, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten any notifications. But, it's really really inconsistent about what it sends and what it doesn't.
ECF has bugs, but doubt they'll do anything.
That said, I do appreciate its existence and all the help it's provided over the years.

I hear that. Sometimes I will get 1 notification in my email, then go to the thread and find about 10 or so new posts, I have gotten 2 pages behind when that has happened and I'm not paying the attention that I should have been.

It also happens with some of my other forums too. My lawn tractor one, my snow blower one, my firearms one... It's happening to most of them. Very annoying.

    I have to fix this.

I get all my notifications and I got to the point where it was too much. I went into my profile and deleted the request for emails on notifications. I still get all those notifications. Tons of them. I really don't need all that but changing it in my profile did nothing to stop it.

Might I suggest, that since this RTA has Phil's name on it, it will attract scrutiny many times over just about any other tank on the market, and people will expect it to be 100% Perfect in both Looks and Function.
I'm sure that has happened but I think it's minimal.

One of the complaints I have seen is about the Draw. I have watched Phils reviews where he stated that he likes a 2mm air hole for air intake on Siren type RTA's, otherwise if any tighter he considers it too tight a draw, so he designed the Ares to fit his preference.
Yes, but isn't his preference MTL? Didn't he praise the Berserker for being MTL only? It suited his preferred draw with the ability to go tighter.

I have also seen where some folks think that the Ares RTA will automatically afford the Perfect draw that they are looking for, even if they are a Wide open Direct to Lung vaper, or a tight MTL vaper, and the Ares just does not have that kind of draw range, No RTA has that kind of range that I'm aware of.
I haven't seen this, however it is sold as both MTL and RDL and such a tank cannot have a perfect draw for MTL because a lot of MTL'ers really do want MTL like a stinky. A smaller air flow channel and few more smaller holes/a few less bigger holes and you're there. Instead it's another "for all" tank. I'm guessing this was an Innokin thing, not a Phil thing. Based on his comments I don't see him pushing for this, but who knows?

Finally, we are dealing with a RTA that is manufactured by, and in, China. We all know that QC is not as high on their list of priorities as it should be
Pretty sure all my tanks, for 5 years, have been "manufactured by, and in, China" and I have never had to return one, and I have never had to return one just to received a replacement that's better but still not where it should be.

But it's OK, really....I knew when I decided to buy an Innokin tank I was rolling the dice. I had never owned an Innokin tank before, I was never enticed by them to purchase one, and that's why I knew I was rolling the dice.

Great flavor, super easy build and fill, and when it's not wheezing and only has it's slight whistle (which is all the time on all settings) it's not bad. I would recommend it as a first RTA.

Most forum systems, like this one, will only give you "one" notification of a new post. It will not give another until you actually visit the thread. Works better that way, and makes sense, in my opinion. Otherwise notifications would be spammed to email and the board "alerts".

Actually, the one tank that fixed that problem is the Hastur rta. It can literally work for anyone from the tightest MTL to a nice restricted lung draw..

I'd like to see more of that in the future.. those inserts are great, and it gives one tank the ability to be one size fits all. For the first time I'm not fighting to get the perfect draw for me..

I don't get some at all... I will go thru the Watched Threads at the top of the page and notice a bunch of threads that I'm not being notified to at all. Need to figure out why this is happening.

I know I wasn't clear on this, but I wasn't talking about emails. I should have said Alerts. I don't check to receive emails any more. Even when I'm on the site and click Alerts, about half of them never show up there.

My Hastur w/o extra inserrs should be here Thursday. I would say the claim that one tank doesn't cover all preferences excludes tanks with inserts because to get them all and cover all requires a separate purchase, but yes, I think it's a great idea and look forward to trying it out.

I would be curious to know if you have experienced the leaking problems with that Hastur tank that I have seen reported? It seems several reviews comments on this and that kept me from considering that tank. Perhaps they have fixed the problems? I know wrong thread, but you brought it up.
