Worshipping God and worshipping satan are both active processes. You are actively accepting God, or you are actively rejecting God. The word I used was "intentionally". Every day a person rejects God, they are actively worshipping satan, they may however not be knowledgeable of that fact.

People seem to think that becoming a Christian/accepting Christ/getting saved is like starting a diet. You admit that you're fat and commit yourself to eating healthier. In that light, I understand the sarcasm and ridicule. But that is not what happens.

A person can only be saved when they see themselves as God sees them. It is the most frightening experience of your life. I encourage you other believers to confirm or deny... but the moment you realize you are a sinner without hope... the closest comparison I can give is that feeling of intense dread you feel when you realize you're going to have a car wreck. That impending dread and doom... multiply that by a million and that's what it feels like. I couldn't sleep for days while God dealt with me. I finally accepted him one night in bed because I couldn't sleep. It's no cakewalk.

But it's not based on what we DO. It's not based on our works. It's not that good people are in, and people who have made some bad decisions, or just more bad decisions than others, are screwed because they've just done too many bad things. That's not how it works.

Why do you think Jesus spent so much time with the tax collectors, thieves, harlots and the poor? These were people who KNEW they had done and were doing bad things.. making bad decisions. They were people who KNEW they couldn't find favor with God based upon their own merit. They KNEW they needed a savior. Those resting on their own percieved good laurels saw no need for a savior.

And once saved, we are changed. I am certainly not the person I used to be. I still stumble in sin, sure. And there are consequences. Salvation does not mean that our sins do not result in consequences. But it does mean that we will not remain in a state of eternal judement and seperation from God.

I respect your personal experience and beliefs. The sensation you describe is unnerving... doesn't sound like a pleasant experience. Sound scary actually. I wonder why he isn't more friendly... "you get more flies with honey than with vinegar" but I guess he only wants those quality souls....

It's this "bigger picture" stuff I don't quite get yet... the everybody else working for satan part... I'm trying to wrap my head around that.... the angry god part too... you think he'd cool down after a while and go easier on us... If he was that upset with Adam, why didn't he smote him instead of punishing everyone for ever and ever?? Come on god!! Maybe it's time to give mankind a second chase on that apple thing....

It's a secret!
It's not God that's scary. It's seeing ourselves as we really are. Seeing God as he is, that's the good part. The really good part.

Look at sin this way... it's kinda like a gene. Adam sinned... it became part of his nature. We are descendants of Adam... sin is part of our nature.

See, the perspective... where we begin, doesn't really matter. Angels started out in the very presence of God, yet a portion rejected him and thus fell. We start out separated from God, yet a portion will accept him and thus be lifted to his presence. What's important is that everyone has a choice to make from wherever they are.

Really, it's not up to us to "convince" anyone...just to share what has been revealed to us. Jesus spoke to many and some rejected his words and that is your right as well.

Many of the questions posed here are good ones, I've had quite a few of these myself over the last 30 years of my walk with God. I appreciate the truth as you see it being brought forth, I recognize that it comes from some deep thought. Your arguement is heard and there have been some good replies to your answers. I know that they have not been sufficient for you and for that I am sorry, wish I could make it clearer to you. The plain truth is that we don't have all the answers you are seeking. The bible says we see through a glass darkly, which means to me that the picture is not clear, that's even for us Christians. But there is One that can make it clearer and it's up to you to seek that with a sincere heart, lacking a haughty spirit. A broken and contrite heart God will in no way despise....

So then, am I saying that we accept Christ blindly? My answer is YES!
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance that what we hope for will come about and the certainty that what we cannot see exists.

There is a veil that covers the eyes of the spirit that is not removed until we accept what we do not see.
2 Corinthians 3
16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

I wish you the best on your journey, kindness, mercy and grace to go ahead and follow behind...and that you may know the true love of God and the fullness of spirit that comes from knowing him....really this is what we all need more of, myself included.

Well gee... if I were to call her/you a name in here it would get deleted.. right?

Yes, I probably would. But, do you know why???? Name calling doesn't serve any purpose but to be nasty and to halt all decent conversation. So, why would you want to do that?

Listen Scott, I"m happy to answer your questions the best I can. I'm happy to engage in conversation. I'm happy to know you and to get to know you better. But, I'm not your punching bag, and neither is anyone else here.

There is no reason that mature adults can't have a conversation without stooping to name calling. It's not kind, it's just childish. So, I won't do it, and I ask that others don't do it here either.

If you want to run to another section to do that........lol.........go ahead, but it's not serving any good purpose there either. But if that's what you want to do, then that's your choice. :)

Plain and simple, you are wrong. By literal definition, you can not passively worship... you certainly cannot do it without your own knowledge.

He doesn't .. those who refuse to accept His free gift choose His wrath over His love ... I know, it doesn't make sense to me either why someone would choose death over Life when it's being offered so freely

Kind of like those Mexican drug gangs... Only two choices. Are you on their side or against them.... Accept their love or accept their wrath..... strange way for the most powerful force in the universe to get things done and woo followers.

Someone posted earlier that if you sinned it meant that you never really received Christ in the first place. Yet we all sin, it's part of us... god condones our sins as long as we beg forgiveness..... I still don't see how and at the lwhy he'd place a confessed murderer who is "reborn" at the last minute over one who follows a path of love and compassion and devotes their life to charity but happens to be a Buddhist or Jew or Muslim or atheists..... I thought god was compassionate and understanding.... and wanted to save mankind.

Thank you for saying some answers are unknown instead of giving broad generalizations or saying to go read the bible.

It still sounds like one of those circular things that "If you already know, we don't have to tell you. If you don't know yet, we can't tell you".

Why isn't the most powerful force more straight forward. Why all the cloak and secrecy stuff? That darn Adam!

I wish you the best on your journey also!

I must admit that I do find it to be very interesting. Based on what you read here.... as far as eternal salvation (and not being damned to a fiery hell for all eternity) is concerned:

Doing "good deeds"... not all that important.
Being kind, decent and respectful.... not all that important.
Following in "the way of Christ"... not all that important.
Not "sinning"... not all that important.

None of those things will get you into heaven and allow you to avoid damnation. As far as Heaven is concerned, they're pretty much a waste of time and energy.

Just accept their God as your personal savior and ask for forgiveness. That's the golden ticket apparently.

Does mean not calling 2/3+ of the worlds population satan worshipers anymore?

As a christian, that is my belief. It's not meant to be name calling, or insulting, but meant to speak the truth according to what I believe to be the truth. Being a christian does not mean that I should lie and not say what I believe, but to be honest with people is in fact showing love and concern. It's not done from a place of malice, but a place of being truthful so that some might be saved because of it.

Ya, that's exactly the loophole my 5 years old son picked up on.

Just confess, beg for forgiveness and follow along and you're in the gate. Just hope lightning doesn't strike during your misdeeds before you can repent and confess.

So you can ask anyone if they follow Jesus and by their yes or no answer you can tell if they're an agent of satan doing the devil's work?

All these seemingly nice people and do-gooder's are satan worshipers in disguise pretending to do good so they can actually do more evil? And god is more powerful than satan and lets this go on for eternity? God needs a better public relations and recruitment agency!!

I read the first two posts and had to stop. Your not a Satan child unless you ACCEPT Satan into your worship and life, if your an athiest that's your choice and if you follow another religion tell me about it I'll listen BUT THIS DOESN'T MEAN I'LL FOLLOW. So this Satan by default is rediculous it says in the Bible WE ARE GODS CHILDREN

If you have accepted Jesus as your personal savior, and you follow Him, you will also do the things listed above as a result. :) It does not mean that you will be perfect, but you will try to follow the perfect example that Jesus showed us.

Satan actually serves a purpose for now, to separate the wheat from the chaff. Sure, there are atheists and others that do "good works", but that's not the point. There will be no forgiveness for their sins because they reject the messiah, the very one, the only one, who has the power to forgive their sins. So they will be judged for their sins, and that's what will condemn them.
